A Wedding in Wild Harbor is book 5 in the wild harbor series by Grace Worthington, and it did not disappoint! It makes it even sweeter when you know the author. I appreciate that these are novels that can be read as stand alone or as the series - that the characters and community is intertwined but also easy to follow and jump in. In this book we meet Cassidy, who works at beloved local bookstore, Books Forever. We run into Liam Henry, who comes to town and immediately makes a bad impression to Cassidy. Turns out, he is there to buy her store! The banter back and forth throughout the book is enjoyable and the storyline was realistic and entertaining. I was instantly invested because 1) this series is fantastic 2) the characters are well written it keeps you hooked 3) the storyline is intriguing 4) the playfulness and banter between Liam & Cassidy as they pretend to be dating for his mother - is - just the right fit.I really enjoyed the backstory with Liam and how he takes care of his niece, who h has custody of, Abby. We were also introduced to his mother, Jane, and that she has cancer, so is truly invested in Liam's dating life. Having a layered backstory to a newcomer in town in this novel was the right move and made the story that much better. And then.... Well, There are many other reviewers who write a synopsis, so rather than doing that I will just say it was a sweet, enjoyable read, especially if you love bookstores and sweet romances. A bonus is knowing the author, which makes it more fun! Thanks to Netgalley for a copy of the book to review.

A WEDDING IN WILD HARBOR is the first time I have ever read Grace Worthington and I loved every minute of it. She had my emotions all over the place and I was afraid to continue reading at a few parts because I was scared of what was coming! Cassidy Woods works at Books Forever. One day, on the way to work, she is run off the road and winds up stuck in the mud. The man who was driving so rudely, Liam Henry, tries to get her out of the mud unsuccessfully. He gives her a ride into town and you can tell from their conversation, they are like oil and water, total opposites.

Soon after arriving at work Cassidy learns that the owners are selling the bookstore and Liam is buying it! She is devastated and walks right out of the store. A WEDDING IN WILD HARBOR brings Liam who is from Chicago, to Wild Harbor to close the deal on the bookstore. He wants to turn it into a high end gym. His mother, who has cancer, only wants to see him married. She is so determined to make that happen that she even takes an ad out on a billboard looking for a wife for him. Liam just wants to make her stop so he somehow gets Cassidy to pretend to be his girlfriend. Oh boy, you know how this is going to go right?

A WEDDING IN WILD HARBOR is the fifth book in the Wild Harbor Beach series but it can easily be read as a stand alone which is what I did. I was instantly emotionally invested in all of the characters. Mostly, they all kept me laughing on one page and then tearing up but the banter between Cassidy and Liam is hysterical. Grace Worthington is such a wonderful and heart tugging author and she had me laughing and crying on the very same page. I am now going to read all of her previous books and she has just made a new fan forever! I will definitely be reading the previous books in this series. Grab your copy today and get on the couch!

I received a complimentary copy of this book from CelebrateLit. All opinions expressed are my own and were voluntarily given.

Cassidy has a love for reading and her bookstore. Liam arrives and makes things a little complicated and a lot interesting. The characters in this story were absolutely wonderful. The story is clean and wholesome. Another beautiful and captivating addition to the Wild Harbor series. Grace Worthington’s book are so delightful. It’s always a pleasure to drop into Wild Harbor for a while!

I really didn't know what to think of this book at first. Worthington did a great job of bringing two very different characters together in a way that worked, but you never saw it coming. It was a nice surprise romance. Very good pacing, good character development.

Thank Poets and Saints Publishing for an ARC in exchange for my review.

A Wedding in Wild Harbor is a contemporary romance novel written by Grace Worthington. It is part of the Wild Harbor Beach series, but it is not necessary to have read the previous books in order to enjoy this one.

Summary: Cassidy Woods loves the bookshop where she works. It’s almost a second home to her. Her biggest dream would be to someday own it herself.

So, when she finds out the owners have decided to sell to a stranger without even letting her know, it’s a huge blow. Even worse, the new owner has no intent to even keep it a bookshop-instead turning it into a high-tech gym.

Liam Henry is excited to be making a new property deal. It’s what he lives for-making deals, and staying away from complicated relationships.

But his sick mother keeps trying to meddle in his love life.

He wants to please his mother-in anything but this. Maybe a fake relationship with a bookshop employee can get his mother to leave him be?

My Thoughts: This was a fun book. At first it seemed the two main characters were far too different to ever fall for each other, but the author did a good job of bringing them together as the story progressed.

This book has a nice romance, and the characters really develop over time as they learn more about themselves, and what they have to offer others.

I enjoyed it, and would recommend it.

I would like to thank Poets and Saints Publishing for providing me with a free digital copy of this book in exchange for my review. Thank you!

What a refreshing and sweet read!
This could easily be made into a Hallmark movie it was so good!
I was all in from the beginning! Wow!
Cassidy and Liam made a great couple and I loved in getting to know them.
They do say opposites attract and in most cases its true. It was for my in laws.
They were just like this couple only the opposite of Liam and Cassidy.
To be honest I love books with a beach setting on them. They are so inviting!
This was what drew me to this book. And I'm so glad I did!
Well done! 5 stars!
I highly recommend!
My thanks for a copy of this book. I was NOT required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are my own.

A Wedding in Wild Harbor, by Grace Worthington, is book 5 in Wild Harbor Beach Series. It is a well written, easy to imagine, sweet romance story. While this is part of a series, I was able to read and enjoy just this one book. This story touches on illnesses such as epilepsy and cancer and how they affect lives of those who have the illness and those around them.

Cassidy is an employee of the bookstore Liam purchased. He plans to change it to a high tech gym, while she fights hard to keep it a place where she can work with young children who need help reading. Liam is determined to stay single, yet his mom is determined to see him in a relationship before cancer takes her life.

This is such a good story to get lost in. It is a quick read story that is filled with emotion. We see Cassidy who has struggled to get what she wants from life and Liam who is powerful and able to get what he wants. For both of them, their past resurfaces and they need to deal with uncomfortable issues. It was so easy to predict Liam and Cassidy would take their fake relationship to deeper one. I especially enjoyed the character of the elderly family friend who finally decided to fulfill his dream of traveling the world. His short time in the story is so memorable.

I voluntarily received a complimentary copy of this story from NetGalley, this is my honest review.

A wonderful reminder of the importance of family and community. It was encouraging to read about people who hold onto their values and dreams trusting God with the outcomes.

A Wedding in Wild Harbor focuses on Liam, a grumpy businessman who is too self absorbed to consider dating or a relationship and Cassidy, who has the softest heart and desire to help others. I laughed at how opposite these characters are, Liam has too many boundaries and Cassidy has absolutely none when it comes to helping others. Some fake dating kick starts their relationship and the rest is history. This book also features a concerned mother and adorable 8 year old niece. My favorite part was the ending, Grace Worthington tied up the story in a beautiful way that didn’t jump to too many conclusions. A well written story!

I requested an advance review copy of Grace Worthington’s “A Wedding in Wild Harbor” because the premise had me at subterfuge. A man and woman who don’t like each other agree to a pretend relationship for their own gains. Liam Henry is a Chicago businessman who wants his mother, Jane, off his back when it comes to his dating life. Cassidy Woods is in her last year of college and wants to save the bookstore where she holds a successful children’s reading program in Wild Harbor, a small beach town. The description alone promised shenanigans, and if it sounds like a Hallmark movie, I would agree with you.
Here’s the thing with Hallmark movies: I’ve come to expect a story line where the main character either is an entrepreneur or wants that promotion at work more than she wants a relationship or anything to do with marriage. This story started with a man who is like this. But some of the story line troubled me. It veered too closely toward tragedy for a plot that should resemble comedy’s calling card. Let me explain.
Liam is wealthy, wears beautiful suits, and drives an Alfa Romeo. He reminded me of two characters from romantic comedies: “Edward” from “Pretty Woman” and “Reuben” from "Along Came Polly." Like his father before him, Liam buys up businesses, fires their employees, and turns the empty space into a business he feels will make a better profit. Relationships are too risky in his book, so he is still single and holds people at arm’s length. He lost his father and his brother, so their loss informs his behavior. His mother Jane is battling cancer, and Liam’s focus has been on her treatments and well-being. He is a guardian to his brother’s daughter who is at a boarding school at the beginning of the story. He has no time for dating and no room for things he can’t control.
He meets Cassidy Woods while driving to Wild Harbor to seal the deal on a property he is buying. He becomes distracted while driving, goes left of center, and forces Cassidy to veer off the road. Liam stops to see if she’s alright, and she recognizes him as the motorist who drove her off the road. Instead of apologizing, he says she overcorrected.
I didn’t like that answer. Liam several times corrected Cassidy’s interpretation of true events. He tried to make this near-accident her fault. He tried to be his own spin doctor. I didn’t like this guy.
Cassidy meanwhile doesn’t have two nickels to rub together. She spends her money on her reading program at the bookstore where she works. She is blindsided by the fact the owners are selling the bookstore, a refuge for her growing up. She has epilepsy and a seizure at school made her the target of a bully. She decided to spend her time reading having adventures, rather than in the company of other children. She is like Liam in that sense of wanting to keep people at arm's length. That marked moment, as Lysa TerKeurst would say, led her to want to make the bookstore a safe place for other kids, and now Liam wanted to take that dream away.
Just like I thought, the two characters found themselves in awkward and humorous situations. One of the conflicts arrived in the form of Cameron, this guy I pictured as Joey Donner from “10 Things I Hate About You.” But remember the part about Liam’s father’s death? Well, his father’s business dealings appeared shady. The scenes started to look like an episode of FBI. I felt like yelling, “We had a contract, Grace!”
I expected to see characters navigating conflicts; otherwise, I might not become that invested if they had smooth sailing throughout. However, the synopsis made me think "romantic comedy," so I kind of felt blindsided by scandal and crime thrown so far into the story. I know from studying plays during my years at Kent State that comedy and tragedy can share the same subject matter. I remembered a lecture I heard long ago when my class studied plays by Eugene O’Neill. The professor said this quote and probably attributed it to Mark Twain, but it turns out it was TV personality Steve Allen:
“Tragedy + Time = Comedy.
"When I explained to a friend recently that the subject matter of most comedy is tragic (drunkenness, overweight, financial problems, accidents, etc.), he said, “Do you mean to tell me that the dreadful events of the day are a fit subject for humorous comment?“ The answer is ‘No, but they will be pretty soon.’” – Steve Allen
I felt like the lovers were divided by tragic events, including some still looming in the future, and not enough pages were left to turn this around. I had to push myself to finish the rest of the story because I didn't find that I was rooting for this couple. My ambivalence aside, I did enjoy the ending and am happy I read to the end.
Thank you to Victory Editing Netgalley Co-Op and Poets and Saints publishing for allowing me to read and review this last book in the Wild Harbor Beach series.

A Wedding in Wild Harbor is book 5 in a series. I have not read the others which wasn't a problem through most of the book. There are scenes at the end involving characters that are rarely seen in this novel but which seem to play a part in the overall story.

This is a cute story about two very different people who meet, dislike each other, have to work closely together, and fall for each other. There isn't anything new here. Pretend dating is involved to appease his mother who is convinced he needs a wife. Some of the mother's actions are ridiculous. Maybe they were meant to be comic relief, but it made me roll my eyes instead of laugh. However, his response, while way too calm for what she did - shows his genuine love for her. There is some extra conflict thrown in about two-thirds of the way through the story. It comes out of nowhere. A little lead in to it would have been nice.

Overall I enjoyed the book. The story is a little uneven, with some realistic issues and actions that keep it grounded. The characters are likeable, and the pacing is solid.

This is a clean romance and is appropriate for any reader.

Grace Worthington is known as a "sweet romantic author," and her latest book, A Wedding in Wild Harbor, bears out the moniker. It is definitely a sweet romance with very human characters, but these very human characters follow the romance novel formula and that detracted from the story for me somewhat.

Cassandra responds to a man driving across the center line of the highway by overcorrecting and ending up in a corn field. The man circles back around to pick her up and take her where she needs to go. Liam, the man, finds out that Cassandra works for the book store in Wild Harbor that he plans to buy and create a high tech gym. That does not endear him to Cassandra at all.

Liam's mother has been fighting cancer and has been told she has run out of options for treatment and all she wants for Liam is for him to be married. She sets up dating profiles, leases a billboard, anything to advertise his single status. This aggravates Liam to the point that he will enter into a fake relationship with Cassandra in exchange for keeping the bookstore open longer to allow her to turn it around and make it profitable. It's not really good business sense, but there's something about Cassandra that appeals to him. The more he learns of Cassandra, the more he likes her, and wants their fake relationship to become something real. Cassandra is wary of Liam, but he worms his way into her heart, slowly but surely.

This is the final book in the Wild Harbor series by Grace, and while I haven't read the other books in this series, it stands alone fairly well. I am sure there are parts I've missed because I haven't read the other books in the series, but I wasn't confused by anything that happened in this book. It was a quick, entertaining read that fulfilled a need for something lighthearted.

If it weren't for the formulaic plot, I would have given this book five stars, but it was a bit too predictable, so I give it four stars.

A Wedding in Wild Harbor is the fifth book in the Wild Harbor Beach series. I had personally only read one other book in the series, and found it reads well as a standalone. You can certainly tell it is part of a series, as we see characters previously introduced make appearances that are clearly not their first... but I didn't feel lost or that I was missing any information crucial to the primary story in this book.

Grumpy boss with plans to shut down a failing bookstore, but ends up falling for the only employee... well, it certainly sounds like something straight off a Hallmark movie, but I absolutely adored it and found this one was done quite well. Liam and Cassidy made such an interesting couple. Liam admittedly was not the most likeable character in the beginning... he most certainly was quite the grump. Still, that made watching his softening throughout the story all the better. The romance between these two was sweet, and I loved their happily ever after. The story was full of heart, but it also had a good deal of humor as well, which I very much enjoyed.

Overall, I found this to be a really sweet romantic read, and one that fans of Hallmark-like love stories is sure to want to experience for themselves.

**I received a complimentary copy for consideration. All thoughts are my own.

This book definitely kept me intrigued and wanting to read more and more until the end. I admit, , Liam was not like able until towards the middle of the story, but he won me over. Cassidy, however, I loved her straight up from the beginning. In some ways I could relate to her and I love it when I can relate to someone in a book. The plot kept me in suspense on what was going to happen next and, while it was a typical happily ever after, it was nice to see two people really work at forgiving, letting some things go, and giving each other grace.

Also, I did not know that this was book five in the series so I have some catching up to do. I do recommend this book.

I graciously received an advance e-copy from netgalley for review. All opinions are my own.

This was a sweet and enjoyable grumpy and sunshine romance, with a cast of likeable characters. I found this to be a very quick and easy read, Although book 5 in a series, I was able to enjoy it as a standalone, however the ending is a wrap up of all the previous characters relationships.

Absolutely delightful! Cassie and Liam met in a very unexpected way and begin on the wrong foot. Cassie isn’t willing to give up the bookshop where she works and Liam isn’t interested in looking for a way to keep it open. Trying to fulfill his mother’s wishes Liam and Cassie agree to a fake relationship. Of course things never go as planned and Cassie’s ex shows up with intentions to rekindle their romance! This was an easy and quick read with plenty of content to keep you turning the page.
