Wow, this book is everything. So sweet I wanted to cry with my mama heart. Every parent will get the feels from this book, and little ones will love the illustrations and the way the words flow. We will definitely purchasing a copy.

What a gorgeous book!!

A story [in gentle rhyme] about a mothers deep and abiding love for her child and all she'd do to get the star from the sky that they have wished for, only to be taught a lovely [and relatable] lesson from her child!

This book evoked deep emotions in me; I am not a mother, but some of the best people I know are [my own beloved mother being one of them] and this reminded me of all they would do for their child [and all mine has done and continues to do for me] in the name of love. thinking of these stories made me rather weepy and I think I will be revisiting this gorgeously illustrated book when I need a reminder of just how powerful love, especially from a mom, can be.

Books like these are reminders of why I like Childrens' Picture Books.

The fabulous artwork on the cover caught first caught my eye, followed by the catchy title.

I'm a sucker for anything star and this book didn't let me down.

It's about a Mother Bear and her cub going on an adventure in search of a star. Very lyrical and soothing, the book takes us along the lake, to the Mount Digger-Doo. There is an undertone oh how we go looking for things that are far away when things that are just as bright and sparkling are with us.

A beautiful read. Amazing artwork.

While the story is sweet, the structure (in poetry form) makes for an unnecessary repetitiveness, and the story overall is a bit lacklustre. It left me wanting and expecting more from it. The parental love shown will definitely appeal to our younger students and their parents, but wouldn't be used in lessons. The illustration is an absolute showstopper. We will probably purchase as a library.

Love filled book that shows how powerful a mother's love can be. This mom takes her child on an adventure to reach a star to conquer fear and feel surrounded by wonder. They journey together but mom cannot reach the stars. It is then that the story tilts and the child shows their mother where the light shines so brightly. Their home is a haven from fear and full of wonder.
The illustrations are lovely and bring the reader in to be part of this journey. A wonderful read for families with young children. Heart warming gift for new families.

Look at the Stars by Katie Cotton

Reading this book on the kindle we did find the writing very small to read. How we we did enjoy the rhythm of the book. As well as how the writing was easy to follow and ways for younger readers to approach the book. The bears had some lovely adventures together.
Illauration is very sweet. Each page has a unique illustration which follows along with the story

Thank you to NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group/Frances Lincoln Children's Books for the ARC.

This was an adorable book with beautiful illustrations. The rhyming text was a nice addition and should be fun for kids to follow along with. The story is a simple premise of a mother bear and her cub trying to find a star to bring home that kids should enjoy.

This was a charming book with beautiful illustrations. I appreciated the shift between bold text for the parent and unbolded for the child. The rhyme scheme and cadence make it a great bedtime read.

A cleverly told tale with a simple message, this lovely warm and comforting story is perfect for young children. Mother and child leave their home in search of a star. They have an exciting, adventurous journey, only to realise that actually they already have what they want in their safe, warm home. Lots to enjoy and share with young children in this beautifully illustrated rhyming story. Thanks to NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

A big thank you to NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group/Frances Lincoln Children's Books for the eARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. This is a children's book. Wow this is a beautiful book-the graphics are amazing. My only question/issue is why a bear? Why not let them be people? The book even rhymes. It is very cute with lots of details that can be used and pointed out in the graphics. This would make a fantastic bedtime story. Just a fun read. A solid 4 stars

A beautiful story that all parents will relate to of trying to give your child everything they want, but not being able to protect them from reality. The book has a nice rhythm and isn’t too wordy for young readers. The style and sweetness is very reminiscent of Love you forever. The illustrations are everything one could want in a picture book.

~~A story filled with LOVE <3 & breathtaking art~~

A story, written from the heart, about the importance of the journey and memories we make along the way. The importance of connecting with our loved ones and treasuring the time together. As parents we are quick to run out to get that special toy, or game of year and this story gently reminds us that the most valuable gift that we can give our children is our time and attention.

What a remarkable story and a great way to tell our young readers just how much we care. The artwork is outstanding, with details that you can delight in most of the night.

This would make a wonderful gift for all parents -as a reminder of how wonderful THEIR little star is!!

A book about home and a mother's love told through a mother and child's fascination with the stars. I found it hard to connect to this story even with the gorgeous illustrations.

This is an amazingly illustrated, magical, children's book, which is full of wonder and delight. A little bear wants her Mum to get her a star, so her Mum promises to reach up to the sky to retrieve one for her. They set out from home on an adventure at night time, trying to catch a star for the child. They are not able to get one, but they realise that their own home is full of light and is shining bright like a star, and so they travel home to enjoy the light and warmth of their own perfect dwelling. This book is so beautiful and the illustrations are amazing. It is a book that fills you with joy and happiness and opens your heart. My daughter and I loved it! Highly recommended!

This was a beautiful heartwarming wintery tale for young readers.

The illustrations were lovely using a calming palette of teal and cream.

The story of yearning for adventure but learning to appreciate what you have was told beautifully.

This would make a really nice cosy bedtime read and a wonderful gift.

Many thanks to the publisher for providing me with a digital ARC through Netgalley for an honest review.

"Look up at the stars, so high above me.
If I could just hold one, how happy I’d be!"

One night before bedtime an adorable little bear cub and his mommy look through his bedroom window and gaze upon the sky which is magically lit up with thousands of bright twinkling stars. The little one expresses he'd love to catch a star and hold it in his hand. Not to disappoint, his adoring mommy suggests that they go on a journey and catch one just for him.

They begin a difficult journey on a chilly night. The two cross through the woods, sail though turbulent waters, tramp through icy cold snow, and finally climb to the top of Mount Digger-Do. The stars are abundant and ripe for the picking. But will Mommy be able to catch one for her adorable cub?

Mommy Bear discovers she is unable to reach high enough to secure and gift her little one with his heart's desire. Disappointed she tells him they must go home now as it's dark and late.

Little cub tells her not to leave yet because he has made an exciting discovery. It is one that makes both of them very happy and satisfied. Can you guess what that possibly could be?

What a heartwarming rhyming book! It's full of love, imagination and wonderment! The illustrations are soft, gentle and could very well stand on their own... beautifully done! It celebrates the message that home is where the heart is. The book is a perfect bedtime story shared with cozy hugs and snuggles. I highly recommend this book.
