This book is definitely not for everyone but I enjoyed the short stories of the author's life. I can relate to the snow sliding off the metal roof and endless snow shoveling. I also can relate to her love of animals, especially her love for Bella, their dog who had to be put down.
I sure they eventually got a reliable snow plowing truck!

Meh, Living Life
This book is a compilation of many, very short recollections of the author's life in Minnesota. Most of these concern everyday life and are not necessarily rural in nature. There are some that concern livestock and bad weather and what one would expect living on an acreage. And that is part of the problem; the title says Farm Life, but the stories are not farm stories. There are also some about enjoying nature-based vacations like canoeing. I wasn't very impressed. I was expecting humor and didn't find much. I have lived the rural/farm/ranch life since 1981 and was expecting more that I could relate to. Most of these stories had 'No Meat on the Bone'. The tales, for the most part, are dry and my reaction is so what? I wanted more and was expecting more.

"A flip back of the covers when we arrive home reveals rivers of reeking pee all the way down to the mattress. I am distressed!"

It's that bad.

This was a difficult one to review. It had a few moments, and some not as much. If you are from Minnesota country life, maybe you might see it s something more. It was just ok, maybe some felt trying too hard to make it funny to me.

Interesting title that’s why I wanted to read it. Started reading it and it was not what I thought it would be.
