This is an adorable little picture book that had wonderful illustrations and a great storyline. It really brings to light the fact that you have to be patient and sometimes wonderful things are hidden beneath the surface. Great moral.

Funny picture book all about perspective. The layout is so engaging, with two stories progressing on both the tops and bottoms of the pages. This could be a good choice for a storytime, especially when learning about gardening and how to care for plants.

Thanks to Netgalley and Albatross Media for the ARC of this!

What a cute little story about perspective, with a lovely bit of plant care. The pictures were adorable, there was not too much text, and it was engaging for my 6 year old. I would recommend this sweet picture book.

Cute story and wonderful illustrations. Read this to my grandson's and since they had their firt garden during the Summer of 2022, they were very interested!

This is so cute! Two stories are told in parallel--above ground a young gardener does their best to foster an odd plant that just won't bloom. They try everything they can think of, only to get a big surprise at the end! At the same time, rabbits living below ground rejoice in the big, healthy carrot growing down into their den. The below ground story is told without words, so kids can be engaged by asking them what they think is happening, how the rabbits feel, what they might do, etc. This is a fun story about perspective that will keep kids interested and encourage them to think of things from multiple perspectives.

Many thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review!

Upside Down is a cute and brief tale of a diligent bear tending to his plants who finds himself vexed by a strange new arrival in his garden that hides a secret and vibrant life under the surface. Humorous cross section art shows the bear watering the plant tea and reading to it while underground, a group of rabbits engages in mischief.

Entertaining and fun!

**I was given a copy of this book by the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. My thanks to Albatros Media and Netgalley*

I absolutely loved this book! Such great humor and also showing kids that was they see is not necessarily the whole story. I particularly liked the amusing ending. Great illustrations accompanying a whimsical and imaginative story! This is a keeper!

Picture book. This is a cute, short gardening story about a bear that is trying to understand an odd plant in the garden. All of the other plants bloom, but this one only has green leaves. The bear is unaware that beneath the soil a carrot is growing and the rabbit family is preparing for a feast. The bear generously nurtures the plant along despite not seeing the bloom. The ending is very cute!

Thanks NetGalley for the preview!

I loved this sweet story about perseverance. The Gardner tries everything to get the plant to grow and explains many ways to nurture plants. The silent story underground can lead to great language development and narration. This is a must buy!

Upside Down
4.5 Stars

This is a cute little picture book with a silly twist! It's for young readers, such as preschoolers or kindergartners.

Our teddy bear gardener is trying everything to make sure his plants are happy. He shows great patience and determination to get his lovely flowers to bloom. I enjoyed the simple art style, and bright color & cheerful illustrations; Teddy bears gardening above ground, and the silly bunny family living in a burrow, under teddy's garden. I'd recommend this book for the pre-k class room, or a great book for any young children's library.

Thank you, NetGalley and Albatros Media, for an advance review copy for free and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

What an adorable story!
I think kids will greatly enjoy this tale of a little plant that wouldn't bloom.

I also enjoyed the second story the the images told with the rabbits.

Overall a wonderful book that I'm sure kids will love to read and take time looking at every page.

Upside Down is a sweet and simple picture book geared towards the very young. The whimsical and funny illustrations that accompany the text tell the whole tale of why bear's plant won't flower despite his extraordinary care.
I suggest babies up to age 4 would enjoy this book the most.

This was an adorable story providing multiple perspectives. This book follows the growth of a carrot from above the ground and below the ground. Throughout the story the bear, who is also acting h as the main narrator for the story, does not know why this plant will not grow like the others. Through his perspective we can see and read about his thoughts and actions. While he is trying to figure out the problem the reader is provided illustrations as to what is going on below ground. This book is a great book to have in a class library to teach multiple perspectives. There are opportunities for students to work in groups, partners, and independently. They can discuss or work on solving the problem from bears end, also discussing what effect would happen or are happening. Various language arts lessons can be taught off this one book and it is a great resource to be added to any library.

It’s a really cute book. I love the way bear took care of his plant. The rabbits underground were a nice touch. The ending was cute. My toddler enjoyed the story as well. The ebook formatting is not good but it would make an adorable print book.

An adorable little bear finds a new type of plant in his rose garden. He is confused as to what it might be and how it got there. He adopts it as his own and tenderly cares for it daily but the new plant won't bloom no matter how much TLC he bestows upon it.

Many rabbits reside underneath the ground of bear's garden and they get to witness and interact with the downside of this strange plant. They are excited because it truly isn't a flowering rose at all but a HUGE, yummy, mouthwatering, CARROT. YES!!!!
Party time in their burrow!

This parallel story will have kids following the duplicity of the tale and loving it. The illustrations show perspective and are a wonderful tool to teach the concepts of up and down, and over and under. The tale is told with humour and has a very happy ending for all the book's characters. It lends itself to be a perfect read aloud for that age group. I love the the book and highly recommend it.

This was so cute!!!! The Bear was so precious taking care of his plant as best he could even though he didn't know what it was. It was fun seeing the bunnies POV since they wanted to eat the carrot and the ending was adorable. The art was cute. I think kids would really enjoy seeing how this story plays out for both characters.
