Three new mums Aisha, Sophy and Mel were absolutely shattered. Influencer Sophy looked perfect to her social media fans, but secretly felt lonely all the time. Older mum Mel wasn’t planning on being a mum later in life, and was worried about her career. And Aisha wasn’t sure if she could ever fix the rift in her family caused by her much loved twin boys. Welcome to motherhood.

This book arrived at the perfect time for me as I navigated my own brand new motherhood. However, I ended up putting the book on pause for a few months as it just felt too fresh for me, and there were moments I just wanted to completely escape from the topic!

I loved the idea of mums banding together, especially in a 3am club, where they could chat freely in the dark when they felt the most exhausted and vulnerable. I used to use this time to listen to audiobooks while peeking through the curtains to see construction, road or train workers commencing their days in the early hours.

This story felt so real, it almost felt like non-fiction in places. I would totally recommend this to mums who need assurance that they’re not alone!

Nina Manning's "3AM Shattered Mum's Club" is a delightful and relatable read for anyone who has ever navigated the rollercoaster ride of motherhood. The story follows three new mothers, Aisha, Sophy, and Mel, each facing their unique challenges and anxieties.

**What I loved:**

* **Real & relatable characters:** Manning creates characters that feel like real people, complete with their flaws, insecurities, and moments of humor. As a reader, I found myself easily connecting with their struggles and triumphs. Whether it was Aisha's exhaustion with twin babies, Sophy's battle with social media pressure, or Mel's doubts about returning to work, each character's journey felt authentic and believable.
* **Honest portrayal of motherhood:** The book doesn't shy away from the messy and often overwhelming reality of motherhood. It delves into the fatigue, the frustration, and the questioning of self-worth that many mothers experience. However, it also beautifully captures the love, joy, and profound bond that grows between mothers and their children.
* **Friendship as a lifeline:** The "3AM Shattered Mum's Club" is a testament to the importance of supportive friendships, especially during motherhood. The bond between Aisha, Sophy, and Mel is heartwarming and inspiring. Their shared experiences, humor, and encouragement provide them with a much-needed sense of solidarity and strength.
* **Engaging and humorous writing style:** Manning writes with wit and humor, making the book a light and enjoyable read despite the sometimes heavy subject matter. The dialogue feels natural, and the story moves at a good pace.

**Overall:**

"3AM Shattered Mum's Club" is a heartwarming and humorous read that celebrates the challenges and joys of motherhood. It's a book that will resonate with anyone who has ever felt overwhelmed, questioned their decisions, or longed for a supportive community. I highly recommend it to new mothers, seasoned mothers, and anyone who wants to understand the beautiful and complex world of motherhood.

**Rating:** 4 out of 5 stars.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC of this book. I have chosen to write this honest review voluntarily and it reflects my personal opinion.
This book starts with a completely realistic and hilarious story of Sophy giving birth in a birthing pool. The book continues to be credible, conveying the emotions of the new mothers as they cope with night feeds creating exhaustion, suffer hormonal changes and the complete disruption of life as they knew it. Every character is well-drawn, even the short segments about Ksenia the cleaner, and I found the novel completely engaged me, I couldn't put it down. Whether you are a mother or not I'm sure you'll enjoy this tale of 3 women who bond through a life event and become firm friends.

A gem of a book I really enjoyed. Even though my children are older I can still remember the early morning awake times and how it made me feel. I really enjoyed Sophy, Mel and Aisha’s stories and how they supported each other .With a relatable storyline, interesting characters , and an engaging plot this was a really fun read
Thank you to Netgalley, Boldwood Books and Nina Manning for letting me read this book in exchange for an honest review

This book has one of the few things that will stop my reading immediately. Extremely lazy writing/editing. The main character says her mother lives less than a mile away from her, then a page or two later says how happy she is the her mother didn't move to the same town as her. Which is it?

Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC for an honest review.

I never get tired of books like this. New motherhood is an insanely unique and difficult experience and the more it gets normalized, the more people can be helped. This book gives this storyline to us in the form of Sofy, Mel, and Aisha. Three new moms who just need to know that they’re not alone, especially during the middle of the night feedings. Some of the best friendships are formed under duress.
Books about motherhood are a dime a dozen. The joys of motherhood, the rewards of motherhood are often lauded and rightly so. Motherhood is not, however, all joys and rewards. Each stage comes with its own challenges. The newborn stage is unique, though, in that mom is also a newborn in the sense that she’s new to this role in her life. Even when it’s not her first baby, it’s still a new person with his/her own personality and individual needs. This is the time where I, as a new mother, found the most difficult, at least so far. It’s the time in which one gets no sleep, no break. Her own needs aren’t considered at all. All of this and more in addition to the most significant change that her life can experience. It’s a very lonely and difficult time. The new mom is also recovering from a traumatic physical event as well. Postpartum depression is very real and very isolating. Not to mention the guilt that kicks in immediately. She is positive that she’s screwing things up! All of these things and more are happening to these three characters. They find each other through a Mom and Baby group that they’re all forced to attend. When the first meeting gets canceled, Sofy, Aisha, and Mel decide to go get coffee and manage to forge an ironclad friendship that saves each woman from her own traumas. I felt that each woman is relatable and I grew to care deeply about. I’ve been there too.
There are no criticisms I can give here. I loved this book. I feel deeply grateful to Ms. Manning for writing this. It’s so important to keep these things normalized. Thank you so much for this book and these characters.

While I don't think this is an OMG amazing book, if you enjoyed the TV show Workin' Moms, this feels like the prequel to it.

If only Nina Mannering had created this amusing, touching and familiar tale about a set of fresh mums when my kids were young. Every individual in “The 3 am Shattered Mum’s Club” is pertinent, affable and enjoyable. Mannering's recognisable writing style is clear as the characters develop throughout the story.

The storyline is captivating, contemporary and relatable. After becoming familiar with all the primary characters, I was eager to discover how each individual tale would conclude. The ending provided everything that I wanted and beyond, offering a mood-boosting and enjoyable vibe.

I alternated between the audio and digital version of this read, and the narration animated the characters wonderfully as if they were engaging in a personal exchange with me!

This book will provide a genuine source of reassurance to many by examining a variety of perspectives on becoming a new mother. This book is a brilliant choice for book clubs, particularly those that prefer a more lighthearted approach.

If a “3 am Club” ever gets going in the future, ensure to let me know!

Witty, relatable and engaging, The 3am Shattered Mums’ Club is a fun and feel-good read from Nina Manning.

Sophy, Mel and Aisha are three new mums who all have one thing in common: they are absolutely shattered. Raising kids is certainly no picnic and nobody knows this better than these three women. Influencer Sophy might seem to have it all, but there is a secret which she is keeping from her many followers: she is desperately lonely. So many people know who Sophy is, yet there isn’t a single person in her life she feels she can turn to. Will she ever find someone to confide in? Or will she just have to content herself with her thriving online life while she continues to flounder in her real one?

Older mum Mel loves her job. She has made sacrifice after sacrifice to get where she’s always wanted to be in her professional life. But will she have to give up the career she loves for the sake of her baby? Will she ever be able to go back to her life pre-motherhood? Or should she just kiss her career goodbye and focus on dirty nappies and feeding routines from now on?

Aisha worships the ground her twin boys walk on, but their arrival has caused a rift in her family she isn’t sure she can fix. Can Aisha manage to repair the broken bonds that have torn her nearest and dearest apart? Or is it already far too late?

Being a new mum is hard, but Sophy, Mel and Aisha have found each other and as they connect at 3 am when their babies finally go to sleep, they share secrets and confidences and find solace in a friendship that will prove to be a lifeline for all of them.

Known for her nail-biting thrillers, Nina Manning’s The 3am Shattered Mums’ Club is her first women’s fiction title and it is so much fun. An enjoyable tale about friendship, motherhood and parenting nightmares sprinkled with humour, drama and believable situations women everywhere will relate to, The 3am Shattered Mums’ Club is a book that will make readers laugh out loud as they find themselves completely engrossed in Sophy, Mel and Aisha’s story.

A fabulous read from a very talented writer, Nina Manning adds another feather to her cap with her latest novel, The 3am Shattered Mums’ Club.

I loved this book. It was so relatable as a pretty new mum and I found each character to be interesting and likeable. It had just the right amount of drama without being unrealistic. A really good read.

When I saw this book come up I knew I had to read it because I knew I would relate to the content endlessly!

I wish I had found ladies like these when I was up in the night feeding my girls. From their first meeting at a failed parents class, their companionship at the times when it's needed most as a new mum was lovely to read.

The issues dealt with in this book were important to read about for many reasons. The main reason being that the people out there that will relate to it will see they are not alone. Other mums have the same thoughts, feeling and reactions as you

This has an interesting cast of characters that carry the story along a nice pace and create depth to the story. Great plot and I found myself filling an afternoon reading this in one sitting as I found it so enjoyable.

This book broke me. I was never expecting for this book to resonate so much with me. I am also a new mom, who struggles every day with juggling a family-work-life-love balance. It is incredibly hard to not let your emotions take over and appreciate every single moment you have with your little ones. I absolutely adore my child and I would die for him in a heartbeat but I get what these ladies are saying on a cellular level. I understand so much how they feel and this story took me on an emotional rollercoaster that I was not prepared to get on. I will definitely be purchasing a physical copy and re reading this book every year.

Thank you so much to Netgalley, Nina Manning and Boldwood Books

I really enjoyed this book even if I’m not longer a member of the 3 am club! It took me back to those challenging first time mother experience and it was great to read it through the eyes of the new mums who find great friendships during this time. Great read

This is my first Nina manning book and won’t be my last!!
I have never read a book that was more relatable as a mum, I was and still am a member of the 3am shattered mums club, as well as the 1am, 2am, 4am and 5am club!
I loved how all the ladies were drawn together even though they had different backgrounds and circumstances. 3am is definitely a time to share those darkest secrets come out!

Everything in this book resonated with me, from the loneliness of the girls to the pain, to the depression. It was like I was reliving it all over again and my only regret is I wished I had a group chat like these women as I reckon it would have gotten me through so much.

I did well up a few times reading this and it did have me staying up until 3am to read it. I fell in love with the girls, their stories, and their lives. It is the kind of book to instill hope and warm fuzzy feelings that things will be ok.

This is completely different to the usual Nina Manning books. But she still manages to pull it off perfectly.
Was very easy to get into, bot over complicated. As usual for me it took me a little while to get used to who's who. Life got in the way a bit and I didn't read it for a few days, but I picked up where I left off easily. Sometime I struggle to get back into it when this happens, but didn't at all with this one.

As for the characters and story line.
The story line was fab, i found it incredibly relatable. And I adored Aisha, Mel and Sophy. I'd say Mel was my favourite character, I loved her strong character. Also cracked up about the 'forth trimester' part. Mel wasn't alone with that one, having four children of my own, I had never heard of the 4th trimester either 🤣.
Oh and Sophy, bless her she deserves so much better, Niall is absolutely vile!!
I will look foward to seeing what Nina brings us next.

Three mothers of newborns meet and form a friendship based on being awake and lonely in the middle of the night feeding babies, finding a lifeline in texting each other. Sophy is an influencer who is trying to get her motivation back while dealing with the changes in her relationship after a baby, Aisha has twins and probable postpartum depression, and Mel has a newborn, an 11-year-old, and a stage career that she is nervous to return to after an incident months earlier. This book is listed as "laugh-out-loud," but I didn't think it was funny. I liked it. I felt it was relatable, the isolation of feeling alone in the world at 3 a.m. and the struggles of new parenthood. It was a bit predictable and had the happy ending you'd expect from this sort of book. 3.5 stars rounded to 4.
