A storm chaser finds herself way in over her head when she finds a magical crystal that ends up giving her powers and when the owner of said crystal, a handsome alien guy comes to collect she knows she’s definitely out of her depth. Marley Pascal loves chasing and studying storms. So on her latest expedition she ends up finding a small crystal that has strange energy that strikes her when she touches it. Soon a mysterious guy named Brae comes along and he wants it back. Brae accidentally dropped his crystal during a fight and he’s an alien with so much on the line that if he doesn’t get it back his whole clan is in trouble. The only issue is that the crystal’s powers are now inside of Marley and they’ll both have to work together because she’s become a living target and he needs to get the power out of her and back to him before it’s too late. It doesn’t help that they’re also starting to feel some electricity between each other (and its definitely not just from the crystal’s powers) but can they make it work or will Marley be destroyed? The story ends off on a cliffhanger that definitely means there should be a second book. While I adored the author’s previous book this one just didn’t hit as much for me and I found myself just not as engaged or interested, it definitely was me and not the book. Definitely give it a go thought if you’re looking for alien romance with a bit of powers.

Thank you so so much Entangled Publishing for approving me for an eARC. I’m so excited to dive down and read this book. With that said, I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Also, I kinda jumped the gun and submitted my NetGalley feedback before even finishing the book but the beginning pages are THAT GOOD. I knew I was gonna love the book and I was right. Oh my gosh was I right.

First off, thank you for the content warnings right at the beginning. I love it when authors/publishers do that. It really shows they care about their readers.

I knew this was going to be a book I was going to love right from the start. Marley is such a beloved character and she’s so relatable. Her whole dynamic with her family is (especially Patrick). The story, the concept, Brae, everything was *chef’s kiss*. I’m not exactly sure why anyone asks me to give reviews cause I do is talk about how I have no words and how good the book is lmao.

I devoured this book I swear. When I wasn’t busy at work, I was reading it. And I had to fight back a squeal at a certain “Please, let me save you.” because *swoon* and again, I was at work and it was 0500 and… yeah.

Cassen and Brae’s banter was just so perfect. The whole “am I interrupting?” “Kinda, yeah. Go away, Cassen.” bit would’ve had me howling had I, AGAIN, not been at work.

And then I spent the entirety of the next day, my day off, finishing this book.

Only for it to end on a frickin cliffhanger.

I have a love-hate relationship with arcs y’all. I love reading books early but I hate having to wait that much longer for a sequel.

IT WAS SOOOOOO GOOD. I LOVED THIS BOOK.

I need the sequel like yesterday. Inject it into my veins. NOW.

Marley lost her parents in a dangerous storm several years ago, and has been intrigued by their destructive power ever since. When she stumbles across a community of aliens who are essentially a personification of a storm, she has to decide who she can trust.

I absolutely loved this book! Marley was a brilliant, relatable character (who's relationship with her brother was goals) and the world building was clever and detailed. I think Lindsey Duga is a master storyteller, and she is quickly becoming an auto buy author!

I received a copy from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

I had enjoyed the spooky books from Lindsey Duga before. So I was excited to read a scifi young adult novel, Storm Chaser has a great plot going on and it did everything that I wanted it to. The characters were interesting and I'm glad they felt like real people. I look forward to whatever Lindsey Duga has next.

"I’d told her to reconsider, and when Patrick got home around eight, we’d argued over Chinese takeout. Eventually he’d given in after I’d threatened to visit his office every hour and bug him and Gerry. But later I found out he’d relented only because he’d talked to Meredith. As soon as I’d walked through the doors of Kansas Mountains, she informed me she didn’t want me climbing until I took the course in safety again, which wouldn’t happen for another month."
