A girl with a plan for revenge after a horrible assault, a boy recruited into a group that will reveal darker secrets, and another girl who will have to ask herself if she can truly trust her boyfriend when more questions begin to show up, what they all have in common. is that they go to Lycroft Phelps, one of the most prestigious private high schools in the nation. Charlotte is a perfect straight A student, she’s in ballet, and dating her dream guy Seb.... but for some reason there are so many questions about his behavior that keep showing up. Max is a scholarship student and a STEM whiz, he’s unassuming but then he is recruited into the rowing team... and soon finds himself changing himself and discovering a much darker and toxic side to this new group. Quinn is an artist and a dreamer, she’s a Lycroft legacy... but she’s been different ever since she was sexually assaulted by one of the popular row kids... and now she’s out for blood... specifically his. Quinn wants to make him pay, she just wants him to feel the way she did... but the further she descends into her plans the more Max and Charlotte get closer to the truth of what happened to her and how that impacts them. The story is told from their alternating POVS as well as the administration’s POV. I liked Quinn’s POV the most because it was just so raw and emotional but Max’s POV just kind of felt not as important to the story and his whole “ turn into a jerk and then redemption” arc wasn’t that great. Overall it’s a story about sexual assault in academic setting and healing and surviving.

This is a ME problem, not a book problem. I so enjoyed Rosenblum's YA debut and was looking forward to this one. I struggle with multiple point of view books and just didn't click with the different perspectives. Again: important topic....and a me problem! :) I have NO doubt so many readers will connect with this book and it's vital topic

I would first like to start off with thanking Netgalley and the publisher for giving me an ARC copy to review.

This book was so heart breaking I was reading and crying, which I never do. This is a type of book that I never would have went to the bookstore and picked up to read myself but it was such a great read I am so glad I got the opportunity to do so. This book should be read by everyone especially men.

This story was written perfectly, and flowed amazing. It is so heartbreaking to read what he went through and feeling what he felt. OH my heart on this book.

4 stars.

Spoilers ahead. I will not reveal anything big - most of the review vaguely alludes to plot, structure, and characters.

This was a tough read at times. Trigger warning for Sexual Assault. The prose was excellent and I liked so many of the characters, even though they acted so stupidly most of the time (but, hey, that's teenagers for you!). I didn't think the character of Max was all that necessary as a narrator. I think the author was attempting to document the descent into douchebaggery and then his redemption, but I felt that the story would have been more effective if the girls were able to expose everything without the help of a guy. I also wanted to see more about the consequences at the end, as that aspect was a bit rushed. Maybe that's the lover of revenge in me, but I wanted to watch them suffer.

I have to admit, I was hoping for a bit more with this one. It was still pretty good, and I’ll recommend, but the wow factor just wasn’t there for me.

this did everything that I was hoping for in a young adult novel that deals with this topic. It handled this topic really well and was written so well. I was invested in what was going on and I felt for the characters. I enjoyed the alternating perspectives it really added to the story. The characters worked and felt like real people. Cameron Kelly Rosenblum has a great writing style.

“Why?” I ask. “Isn’t the whole Me Too thing about speaking up? Calling out your assaulter so rape isn’t kept in the shadows?” I say. The thing is, I’m not convinced, either, but it’s what strong women do, so I will do it, too. Otherwise, I’m still running away. “Ms. Ballard thinks I could feel empowered by confronting him.”

CW: sexual assault

this book was a roller coaster of emotions for me as someone who has been through a similar situation like Q. I related to a lot of what she is feeling and I loved seeing her come to terms with her trauma.

I feel that this story while it is in multiple perspectives did a really good job of showing what it’s like for men and women when it comes to rape culture and I think this is a important book that can really help someone have the strength to speak up when they think that they can’t.
