I really enjoyed this one!

The art style is so pretty, and I love all the colours used on the pages! It makes the world of Pandorient so vibrant, especially in contrast with the "real world". It is also really unique and funny, while also including and handling grief and the loss of a parent at the same time! Cant wait to see where this story goes!

Nola receives a music box or her birthday that belonged to her other, who’s just passed away. Once she turns it on, the melody takes us to the world of Pandorient where she uses her knowledge to heal a friend and make new friends of her own.

I loved the art in this graphic novel, especially the landscapes of Pandorient and Nola’s father, a gentle, good-natured soul. The story was okay but took suite a sudden, action-packed turn I wasn’t expecting. I won’t be reading the rest of the series, it wasn’t a favourite, but I’m really grateful for the visual journey, each page was beautiful to look at.

My endless thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this book.

The illustrations in this book were both whimsical and beautiful, it created such a wonderful view of Pandorient. The story itself had so much about it that I loved. I'm glad that the author included some real life struggle and how hard it is to deal with grief.

I particularly enjoyed that at the end of the book there was a glossary to introduce new words to young readers, to help them expand their vocabularies. The "Think About It' and "Write About It" sections were a stroke of brilliance. Inviting young readers to analyze how they would respond in a situation, develop their own opinions and explore writing is so important.

This graphic novel was a sweet and short read, that takes us on a delightful journey to Pandorient. The art is really beautiful and atmospheric, I felt drawn in right away by the details and colors.
Although it is a tale about children for middle graders, readers of any age can enjoy this cute and moving adventure, which addresses themes such as grief and friendship. It reminded me of the excitement of new adventures as a child and made me want to read the next one right away.

This is a really strong introduction to the world of Pandorient! We're left with very little knowledge of the little music box world, but our protagonist Nola doesn't know anything at this point either. The glimpses we got of the world left me with a connection to Nola and I really like the new friends she made!

There's a lot that we got to catch bits of, that I look forward to learning more about, like the RDH and the comment that more and more rules get made every day. Plus, the Dream-Sand. Is it a drug? What's up with that? I'm eager to dive deeper into this world and it's problems, and also what Nola's role will be in protecting both Pandorient and Earth.

This children's graphic novel not only has stunning visuals but introduces its reader to a world that is fantastical, mysterious, and captivating. When Nola first enters the world of Pandorient, the village itself reminded me of the small, Colombian village that is found in Encanto. I wish the first book was longer but I am excited to read the other books in this series. I also wish they would have expanded on Octopodus' relationship with his girlfriend and why it was so scandalous. One of the characters mentions that they are not free to love who they want so I guess there this is due to racism by the hand of the King in world of Pandorient. Overall, this was a fast-paced read that was entertaining.

Wow, the art in this graphic novel is stunning. I loved the world building and the variety of characters, the imagination is unreal. A story of a girl grieving the death of her mother who inherits a magical music box that enables her to enter another world, I’ll be looking to read the others in the series when they’re available. Thank you NetGalley for the advanced digital review copy. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Thank you to NetGalley Capstone, Stone Arch Books for this ARC.

Nola is turning 8 years old and she gets a wonderful gift from her father. It is a music box that belonged to her mother. This music box is magical. There is actually someone inside and when Nola takes a closer look she sees that the person needs help. With a little help Nola opens up the music box lock and suddenly she is inside. She has now come to the land of Pandorient where she meets Andrea and Igor. Their mother is very sick and they need to hurry up and save her.

This is a graphic novel with gorgeous illustrations by Gijé. I loved all the characters and the idea of a world inside a magical music box is very good.

Such a precious graphic novel!
It is undoubtedly for a younger audience but that did not prevent me from adoring the story, the kindness and cuteness of the characters as well as falling in love with the colorful art style!
It reminded me of Stefano Turconi, who might be my favourite illustrator out there.

I hope there will be other volumes with new adventures, because I sure have not had enough of Nola and Pandorient with its weird and unique inhabitants! (grumpy octopodus has my heart)

Thank you so much Netgalley and Europe Comics for the ARC!

Personal Rating : 3.5 / 5.

The illustrations are gorgeous! Colorful, bright and lively. The plot felt a bit childish to me which is I guess alright, considering it's written for middle graders. Nola's bond with her mother, her grief over her death and the magical world inside the music box were lovely and interesting and there are so much potential to be utilized.
