In our how’s sharing is caring, and fighting isn’t allowed. So we loved this book, because sometimes things aren’t they way they seem, and caring is better than fighting.
Such a cute story, any dragon lover would like.

This picture book is super cute. The story of a knight connecting with a misunderstood dragon is a familiar one, but even though the plot has been done many times before, the illustrations make this version stand out. They are soft, colorful, and charming, and they convey the message well.

Sterling, along with everyone else, fears Nugget the dragon. Sterling wants to be a knight and be able to slay dragons. Bravely, Sterling sets out on horseback in search of Nugget. When he finds him in a cave, Nugget isn’t what Sterling expected at all. Sterling decides to help Nugget and ends up being rewarded by the King and Queen as a result.

I was draw to the title of this book since my niece and nephew love dragons. It’s a great children’s book which teaches kindness and compassion. The illustrations are excellent and add to the overall story.

Thank you to NetGalley and Morgan James Kids for allowing me to read an ARC of this children’s book. #NetGalley #SterlingandNuggettheDragon

Sterling aspires to be a knight and what better way to shoot for the stars than to slay the scary dragon. Will he finally become a knight? Or will the dragon tame him instead?

This read was cute, enticing, and kept your attention throughout. I was even a little disappointed there wasn’t more to the story just because my daughter and I were enjoying it that much. Sterling’s brave character and the tried and true tale of fighting off a dragon were really what pulled you into the story. But what kept you around was Sterling’s kind nature and the relationships he built.

This book is best suited for bedtime/fun time or independent reading time. It comes fully approved by my preschooler, too.

Thank you NetGalley and Morgan James Kids (Smith Publicity) for an advanced copy of Sterling and Nugget the Dragon in exchange for an honest review.

This is a moral book with a lesson of learning never to be at backfoot while helping anyone.

Sterling is a boy who wanted to be a knight. His ambition brought him to the dragon, Nugget, who had been feared more by the people of the town than knowing his nature. When Sterling found him wounded with his wing, his kindness made him help the dragon. In return to that, Nugget gave a ride to a boy which made him hero of the town. He eventually being made a Knight by the King, 'Knight in shining armor' for the town people.

This fun book tells the story of a boy (who becomes a knight) and a dragon. There are lots of fairytale elements such as magical creatures and happily ever after endings. The illustrations are beautiful! The amount of text on the page is really good, and the font is fairly large, though it can be hard to see on some pages. It is a nice picture book and the perfect gift for a kiddo you love. I would recommend this book for children in the 4-8 range. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for giving me the chance to read and review this book!

Vibrant illustrations that warrant quality time with a child without the written narrative. Each page through the art tells a piece of the story. They are beautifully done. The coloring is perfection.

The story progresses and comes full circle in the end with one unexplainable hiccup? A young boy wants to become a knight, believing this will happen if he fights a dragon. They meet and the plans change.

Hiccup -- The dragon is injured and within minutes of actual story time he is able to fly. I wouldn't want to be the person explaining to a child how he flew with a broken wing.

Friendship, truths, myths, research and uses of the library just off the top of my head are conversations a caregiver could have. This book may be tricky for a babysitter.

Sterling wants nothing more than to become a knight. He decides that the only way to do this is to prove his worth by slaying the dragon that lives nearby.
This is a sweet book with gorgeous illustrations. Perfect for any child to read who enjoys a world with a bit of fantasy.

Sterling and Nugget the Dragon is a very adorable short story about not judging a book by its cover and lending a hand when you're able. Sterling wants desperately to become a knight in shining armor and figures the way to do that is by slaying the dragon that lives outside of his town. When he goes to do so, he discovers the dragon is injured and in need of help. Through this Sterling and Nugget the dragon teach children that choosing kindness goes a long way. I loved it and I can't wait to be able to read it to my nanny kids.

This book is too cute. Nugget and Sterling are so cute. Sterling prepared to fight a big mean dragon. But upon his arrival at Nugget's liar, Nugget was hurt so instead of fighting Nugget, Sterling helped healed Nugget. This book made me smile. I absolutely loved it.

My 3 year old son really enjoyed this book. He liked the story and the illustrations. I like the deeper meaning that you can't judge a book (or dragon) by its appearance and that you should always try to help those in need if you can.

I recommend reading this book at schools and in social skills groups because of the great message of empathy. I also liked the addition of the main character doing research at the library. The illustrations have great depictions of a variety of facial expressions that can be discussed with the group as an extension activity.

Thank you so much to Morgan James Kids and Netgalley for the ebook to read and review.

Sterling watches the knights in shining armour every day, with everyone afraid of the dragon the flies outside the walls. He decides he is going to become one and slay the evil dragon, but then he finds that what he knew isn’t correct.

I love this story it is so beautiful and sends a great message for helping those in need. Sterling had it in his mind that the dragon was only what he’d heard, read or knew. The instant he saw the dragon his opinions changed and he used all his skills in kindness to make the dragons life better.

The illustrations were really beautiful and I loved seeing the beautiful dragon, the cute tiny village that Sterling lived in. This is such a great book for teaching children about kindness and compassion, that what you know may not be true. It is also a fun fantasy story tat takes you to a whole different world and is so fun to read
