The characters each have these little pieces that make them such believable characters! This fabulous summer read is a gentle reminder love never gives up on anyone. An unforgettable story.

Pretty good book... Mostly action but with drama and Mafia parts on it.... Though a good books binge read.....

I love, love, love this trope and then add in the writer, Ms. Ramsower, and I am a goner for as long as it takes to read from front to back cover!!!

Jill knocked it out of the park with this new series. I definitely think this book has moved to be my number one favourite of hers! I loved the relationship between Noemi and Connor. Noemi has such a fantastic backstory that gets weaved together so nicely. Connor is definitely the ultimate book boyfriend; I loved his protectiveness, his possessiveness, his willingness to marry her once meeting her, after originally not wanting a bride. The spice in the book is kinda minimal, but I felt what was there was perfect for their relationship.

Definitely a well-developed story that could easily hook any mafia romance lover.

This is the first book of a new series featuring the Irish Mafia. It has all the elements of a great mafia story. Great character introduction especially with Connor's family. I can't wait to see what his cousins get up to.

Noemi has done the best she can in life and intends to give Connor as much difficulty as she can. She doesn't plan on actually liking the man. Together they will be a formidable pair.

Loved the setting and all the secondary characters.

Great read ! I have been a fan of this author since her Five Families Mafia series but I feel this is some of her best work! If I could I would rate more than 5 stars.

The fast paced premise is captivating and intriguing but not as dark and gritty as many of the Mafia/crime world story lines; the romance is erotic and intense; the characters are determined, desperate and dynamic.

Loved this book.!
Tense, thrilling, violent in places, so emotional I cried for the heroine, the whole thing was dark with a tinge of hope that grew as the book progressed.
It was very well written and I found the characters and chemistry addictive to read about.
Can’t wait for more in this series and from this author.

This is my first book by this author and I don't think it will be my last! I am a sucker for a Mafia romance when it is written right, and this one was definitely that for me! Noemi's father has set her to be married to Conner as an alliance between the Italian Mafia and the Irish Mob. Noemi hasn't spoken since her mother passed away and knows that she doesn't have a choice in her fate. Conner doesn't really want to get married but he will do what he has to for the alliance. Neither one expected the attraction that they feel for each other, but they also didn't expect to be what they both needed.

This story is not only hot as all get out but there is also a sweetness to it that I wasn't expecting. There is so much more to Conner than just the mob man-he has a heart of gold underneath all the mob boss mentality. He has his own code that he follows but that code isn't necessarily a bad thing. I was surprised with how much I really liked him. Noemi is a strong woman, even while being beat down by the life that she lives. And through everything, she still manages to show that strength and backbone. This definitely will be an author I am adding to my list for future reads!

After the Five Families series had ended last July, I was hoping to get a spin-off with Connor, who was introduced in the last chapter of Perfect Enemies And indeed: Silent vows is the first in the Byrne Brothers series As explained in the last chapter: Connor Reid is the biological son of the Genovese mother. But she gave him away and he was adopted into the Irish mafia.
When Connor is asked to marry into the Italian mafia, to ensure closer bonds between the families, he doesn't hesitate. When offered a choice, he decides to pursue a mute woman, Noemi.
After a terrible car crash, where her mother was killed, Noemi has not spoken ever since. Because she fears her father will kill her then also. He has kept her under lock and key ever since. But now, Noemi may have an escape from his reign of terror: her father has agreed to marry her of to the Byrne family.

But Connor is a dark man. So, maybe she will be worse off than now. still... there is a glooming attraction between the two.
As always with Jill, she keeps you on the edge of your seat. There is danger, a totally badass woman and an agressive (and totally possessive) alpha male. So, sparks flying is guaranteed! Can't wait for the next part in this series! Five out of five stars from me and a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.

When we first met Conner Reid at the end of Perfect Enemies I was hoping he’d get his own book and this author did not disappoint me. Silent Vows is the story of an arranged marriage between the Irish mob and the mafia with Conner entering a marriage of convenience with Noemi, daughter of a Capo to strengthen ties between the families. Noemi has been silent for six months since the death of her mother but something about her photograph intrigues Conner and after meeting her, he realises that she’s not the traumatised girl everyone keeps telling him she is. Noemi has secrets and he’s determined to uncover each and every last one of them.

I loved Conner and Noemi together. There was some great chemistry going on there and Conner felt very protective towards Noemi while Noemi instinctively knew she could trust Conner with her secrets despite his reputation for ruthlessness and brutality. With a great background story of murder and betrayal, the Byrne Brothers series is off to a great start.

This is the first in a new series, and this is Conner and Noemi’s journey. Conner is broody, ruthless, possessive, and protective, while Noemi is desperate to escape the life, she is living and fearing for her life with her father’s daily threats. Noemi is promised in an arranged marriage to the Irish mafia, in exchange for an alliance. The chemistry between Conner and Noemi is intense and undeniable. This is a well written story which is dark, intense, and intriguing, with angst, secrets, twists, trust, family, danger, suspense, emotions, challenges, and love, which leads to an addictive page turner.
I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

Ahhh! This is my first time reading a Jill Ramsower story but I know it won't be my last! I loved reading Noemi and Conner's story. This arranged marriage mafia romance was sexy and so addicting. I loved seeing the connection between the characters and really feeling the intense emotions between them!

I have read a ton of mafia romance novels but what I always ask myself is whether the romance between the hero and heroine felt genuine and fiery. After reading Silent Vows I can honestly say that this is one of the best mafia stories I've read in a long time. Conner and Noemi had combustible chemistry but more than that was the intense connection between them. From their initial meeting you could tell there was something special between them. Their banter was heated and sexy and I for one am obsessed with them!

Overall this was an amazing read, and now I am so ready for Keir and Bishops books!! What a phenomenal start to the Byrne Brothers series! 5 stars! ~Ratula ❤️

Silent Vows by Jill Ramsower is the First book in The Byrne Brothers Series. This is the story of Noemi who is a Italian Mafia Princes but she is scared of her father. Noemi and her mother where in a car accident about 6 months ago that killed her mother. Since then Noemi has been under her father's thumb which she has tried to lay low and doesn't even talk. Noemi a brother who she cares for but she fears he is under her father's thumb. When her father tells her that she needs to marry Conner Reid who is part of the Irish Mafia to make alliance she of course fears this thinking it will be from one prison to an unknown prison. Conner doesn't have the desire to marry but of course goes through with this request and also wants to bring justice to a death of a family member. But when the two meet the sparks fly....and so starts their story.

This is book one in The Byrne Brother's Series and it is Conner and Noemi's story and what a great start to a new series and definitely a must read. Noemi was in a serious car accident that killed her mother and she knew that her father was the one that did this so Noemi decided that she wouldn't speak again until she could get away from her evil father and the mafia life but the only problem and thing that is holding her back is her brother who she loved and wanted to protect but he seemed to love there father and also the mafia life so that caused big complications and Noemi didn't know what to do next as there father kept them away from each other and he was also abusive and dangerous so she had to be very careful about what she did. When Conner's uncle Brody was shot and killed he was determined to make them all pay for what they have done regardless of what the outcome would be. When an arranged marriage between Conner and Noemi was decided they didn't expect the reaction and chemistry between them and it only got stronger and more intense the more time that they spend together but could they trust each other especially with all the secret's surroundings them to get the happy ending that they both deserve only time will tell what the outcome would be for them all. Wow this book takes you on a roller coaster ride of emotions and was absolutely amazing, emotional and addictive and I couldn't put it down and there were twists and turns along with danger, suspense, action, betrayal, secret's, family drama, hope, love and some difficult situations that makes this book a real page turner. This is the first book that I have read by Jill Ramsower but definitely not the last as the characters and storyline pulled you in right from the start and kept you on the edge of your seat wondering what would happen next and I can't wait to read more of her book's in the future.

I loved every second of this 5 star mafia story. A page turner binge worthy story.

Noemi hasn’t said a word in months. Connor needs to take a wife in order to secure alliance’s. He’s very intrigued by this silent woman.

This was an addicting and highly entertaining story. One that had me read it almost non stop. I was hooked from the first page read to the last one. I loved these amazing characters that were perfectly created and developed. It was suspenseful. Beautifully executed. Bottomline this is a must read.

Standalone told in a dual POV with an HEA. I strongly recommend this story.

I am always trash for a Mafia Arranged Marriage. It usually has built in Enemies to Lovers and great smexy chemistry. Silent Vows had all of that in spades and add in a sprinkle of Age Gap and some "Who Hurt You?" vibes and I am SOLD.

Noemi has been purposefully silent since the death of her mother 6 months ago. She is threatened daily by her father and she fears for the life of her young brother who is fully under her father's spell. She has no dreams or hopes for a pleasant future and just tries to stay out of her father's way. When the mandate to marry an Irish rival comes about, she fears like she will go from one prison to another.

Connor is not interested in marrying an Italian bride for an alliance. When given the option of spouses, he is intrigued by the idea of a silent bride. Real gem, I know. But when he meets her he sees something behind her eyes and the more he learns about her.. he thinks she has plenty to say. The way she challenges him and entices him has him thinking this marriage might not be too awful after all.

But in silence, there are secrets. Secrets that Connor is determined to get Noemi to share with him. Even though those secrets could tear down everything she holds dear... their chemistry burns hot and bright and the more she gets to know him, the more she wants to trust him. Watching their connection grow is so beautiful and I loved how he was both ruthless yet patient at the same time.

This was a slow burn, arranged marriage, age gap, Mafia Romance that hit a lot of my favorite things in a romance.

A few things I didn't love were how suddenly Noemi started speaking. I didn't love how Connor tricked her and also, her little brother made me want to slap his face. Stupid kid was infuriating.

I will absolutely be continuing the series and I look forward to reading more of this author.
