I've been waiting for Dom and Willa's story since the beginning of the first book and this one didn't disappoint.

I've really been intrigued by these two and it was fun finally getting to see inside their heads. They're both stubborn and putting a brash public face on past hurts. Together they instant chemistry and I wanted to mash their faces together from the first time they're back on the page together. Of course it was fun seeing the previous couples play matchmaker and it's delightful when all three men are together.

Plot wise, it was good. There's a lot a lot a lot of push and pull and I wish we would have had a chance for more honest conversations as everything felt a bit more superficial than I wanted. Dom's reason for jilting Willa was so minor to make such a big deal over and it seemed liked there was all of this build up for a (in my opinion) WITAF reveal. However, I will say that the epilogue really nailed it for me.

Overall, this series has been so much fun and I can't wait to see what Eva comes up with next.

I have been waiting for you for so long. And I wanted it to be fire.

And it was.

Let me set the scene for Last Chance Scoundrels. I’ve reviewed the previous books, 1: A Good Girl’s Guide to Rakes and 2: How the Wallflower was Won in detail on my blog. You definitely must read those before you tackle this book, A Rogue’s Rules for Seduction. But it’s no hardship. The previous in the series are two of the best books that I’ve ever read, and Rogue’s Rules doesn’t disappoint. Since you’ve read the first two (I warned you), you know that the entire series revolves around Dominic leaving Willa at the altar, basically set in motion by Willa’s brothers (and Dom’s best friends). Well, Willa is devastated, and she’s no shrinking violet, so it’s a wonder that she didn’t hunt him down and cut off his . . . well, you get my point. But yeah, the families aren’t particularly pleased with this, and pin the blame directly on the three wild friends, brothers Kieran and Finn Ransome, and our man Dom, and they come up with an ultimatum. The three guys need to find and marry acceptable women within a year or they’re going to be cut off. Okay, so these three are pretty much Worldstar wild men, Kieran is a rake, Finn is a gambler, and Dom likes to drink and fight. They need those inheritances!

The previous books give us Kieran and Finn’s HEAs. Kieran, surprisingly, has found true love with Dom’s sister Celeste. Finn, who everyone seemed to think was stupid, but who is actually brilliant with numbers, has found Tabitha, a bluestocking wallflower nerd girl (who I absolutely LOVE). So they’re 2/3 of the way to getting their inheritances.

So, as I said, the jilting of their sister was the brothers’ idea, because they could see that neither Dom nor Willa seemed really happy about the marriage. They fought CONSTANTLY. The boys really thought they were doing the right thing (sigh). Anyway, the brothers are ecstatically in love, and now they think it’s time for Dom . . . and Willa to get back together. Okay, YOU broke them up! But that year has made Kieran and Finn into new men, love has brought them around, so they are going to try to help out their bestie and their sister. Easy peasy, right?

Yeah, no. Someone has got to tell the Ransome brothers that they absolutely suck when it comes to grand ideas and intelligent planning. But that won’t stop them. They have stranded Dom and Willa at a salacious house party on a remote Scottish island, hoping they will fall into each other’s arms. Alas, as you can tell by Willa’s first remark when she sees Dom (I will not spoil it, but I literally laughed out loud when I read it), it’s not going to be simple.

So Eva Leigh spins a tale that winds us up into Dom and Willa’s lives, their past relationship, how they’ve grown separately, and where their brains and hearts are now. Of course, we are sure they’ll get together in the end (it’s a happily ever after, of course), but it’s going to take dodging bullets of hurtful language and wading through emotional minefields to get the posh society lady and the guy from the stews together in a good way. But we recognize it’s going to be tough. She’s hurt and angry and he doesn’t feel like he is the best thing for her, so he smothers his heart. But fate, and interfering friends and family, have other plans.

Forced proximity is one of my favorite themes and Eva Leigh does this well. Her fresh take on that theme is wonderful—her spin is new and slightly different. Plus, I like the fact that her hero and heroine have to learn to communicate, even to just deal with being stuck together for (possibly) two weeks, but also because there needs to be some resolution. Her brother is married to his sister. Their families are close. They cannot hide from each other until the end of their days. And there’s the inheritance issue hanging over their heads . . . you know it’s going to be wild!

We’ve seen a lot of Dom and a little of Willa in the previous books, so it was delightful to get an entire novel devoted to them, plus you get to see some old favorites from her previous series (hey Maggie). Easy 5 star ending to a 5 star series.

This had some of my favorite tropes; second chance, forced proximity, house party. You can't get better than that. I've only read short stories by Eva Leigh in the past and have not read the others in this series but I've added them to my library hold after this one. Dom and Willa were great characters and I love how they grew and changed over the course of this story. This has a bit of a wallpaper historical feel but was so engrossing it didn't matter.

I really expected to enjoy this one because I had liked The Good Girl's Guide to Rakes by the same author. Sadly, this one lacked the charm of that one. It took me ages to get into this one, and even when I did, I still wasn't intrigued by the romance. It all felt oddly lackluster

Dominic Kilburn and Lady Willa Ransom were once engaged to be married, but their relationship fizzled when Dominic left Willa at the altar. Not wanting anyone to know how hurt she was, Willa fled to the Continent, but now she's back after a year of traveling and is ready to move on with her life. Willa agrees to attend a summer house party on a remote Scottish isle with her two brothers and their wives, but to her surprise, they also invited Dom. It's clear to everyone in attendance that the pair still care deeply for one another but are too stubborn to work things out. The more Willa and Dom try to ignore the other, the more they can't seem to stay away. But when Dom finally reveals why he left Willa, will she be able to put aside her fears and open her heart to him once more?

I've been obsessed with this series since the first book, and I've been dying to read Willa and Dom's story. Let me tell you, Leigh did not disappoint. It's probably the best second-chance romance I've ever read, and the fact that it also used the forced proximity trope was just the icing on the cake. The tension between Willa and Dom was so palpable, and it was explosive once they came together. (Seriously, the steaminess of this book is next level.) I love all these characters, so it was fun seeing Willa's brothers and their wives pushing her and Dom together. All of Leigh's signature wit and banter shines in here. My only slight issue was that I thought the first half was a little slow, but everything ramped up by the end. Even though I'm sad to see this series wrap up, I'm so excited to see what Leigh comes up with next.

I can not express how much I have loved this series. Seriously, just like, so much love. I've always liked Dom's character but I wasn't sure about Willa since she doesn't make much of an appearance in the first 2 books. She's great. The best actually. She was not having any of Dom's BS and made him work HARD for their second chance. The sex scenes were *chef's kiss* perfection. But there was also real dialog and real healing for both characters. Just all around a perfect ending to the series.

This is the third and final installation in Eva Leigh's 'Last Chance Scoundrels series. Suffice to say I was incredibly nervous to read this one; it ties back to the raison d'etre for the 'ultimatum' that ties the three books together, and the second installation was somewhat of a letdown for me.
I was thrilled to find that I really enjoyed this one; it was a second-chance romance for Dom and Willa, they grew and changed as people and came back together stronger than ever. They got creative--in the most fun way as a reader--and really loved each other for who they are rather than what they represented to outside eyes.

I love a good second chance romance!! This one definitely delivered on the emotions and yearning, while still having plenty of humor and being a very fun read. I’ve been anxious to read Willa and Dom’s story since the first scene of The Good Girl’s Guide to Rakes and it did not disappoint.

One thing I appreciated towards the end of the novel is that Willa took the time to consider everything. Even with how much she loved Dom, rather than throwing caution to the wind and being swept away by the romance, she took a step back and thought about whether this was healthy or the best choice for her. Definitely super refreshing to see.

Also the spicy scenes are VERY spicy and very nice.

I actually don't know how to write a review for this book, because it is simply beyond words how indescribably in love with it I am. This is truly a perfect second chance romance. Actually...I think it's a perfect book.

Having Dom and Willa's breakup be the impetus for the series means that they've been simmering in the background throughout the first two books, teasing us with what was sure to be a delicious confrontation and reconciliation, and Eva delivered on both fronts. The mystery of why they separated in the first place has had me intrigued for the whole series, and it was so satisfying to see them finally hash it all out.

Second chances are easy to mess up, but this one surprised and delighted me at every turn. Not only was their breakup something they were able to reconcile and come back from--it was actually necessary to their development. Sometimes historicals can get away with second chance romances that rely on circumstances that can't exist in contemporaries, but Dom and Willa had a fundamental misunderstanding in the foundation of their relationship and both needed to grow as people before they could let down their walls enough to truly be vulnerable and see one another for who they were, which felt timeless and genuine. There was lots of back and forth, will-they-won't they--to be expected with two hotheads with an overabundance of sexual tension and deeply rooted fear of vulnerability--but it never felt excessive or gratuitous.

Also, I have to say it. This book is SEXY. Like, I was sweating after a four chapter sex extravaganza ft some surprise kink exploration, not to mention the previous scene where Dom BLOODIED HIS KNEES and ALLLLL the sexual tension leading up to all this. Everyone say "THANK YOU EVA" because we have been BLESSED.

Suffice to say I will never recover from Dom and Willa's book. I love them both so much. My heart went out to them and I kept yelling at them to just F*** ALREADY and when they finally did it was everything they (and I) deserved and more.

Also while this one can be read as a standalone and Eva does an excellent job of weaving in enough backstory that you shouldn't be confused, I'd recommend reading the previous 2 books for context that makes this story exponentially more satisfying to any readers debating whether they should read chronologically. Plus, all of Kieran, Celeste, Finn, and Tabitha's nonsense and shenanigans are so much fun that way!

I could not wait to get my hands on this one! I devoured it immediately and could not put it down.. Don and Willa had struggled to make it to the marriage alter the first time. They had to learn to trust each other but mostly themselves. There were so many emotions in their coming together and finding a HEA. I loved it.

Eva Leigh is a brilliant storyteller and this book is further evidence of her gifts! We are introduced to Dom and Willa at the very beginning of the first book in the series and, I will be honest, I didn’t foresee this couple coming back from this. I am glad I was wrong, I loved everything about this: the second chance romance, the slow burn, the groveling, the character development and the STEAM were great.

My one critique is that Willa’s journey of fully growing into her identity, strength, and independence seems totally at odds with how she essentially let her brothers rule over her life. The continually just threw her into situations like it was a game to them and I would have been furious if it were me! I felt some sort of reckoning would have been very appropriate given everything else we come to see and learn about Willa. Like a sorry would have been nice, you know?

Anyway, I highly recommend this series and think this book caps it off perfectly!

I have to admit going in I was nervous as to what could have been the reason for Dom to jilt Willa in book one of this series. But I quickly found myself enjoying the way their story played out and not worried about his reasoning being too dark or much for me. I trusted the author to give me a good and believable reason. She didn’t disappoint.

Dom and Willa were tricked into going to a house party on an island by caring friends and family who were hoping they could work things out. Although they tried to stay away from each other they were continuously thrown together and in each others company enough to start working some things out. Like how much they didn’t really know about each other or that their reasoning for wanting to marry might have been a little superficial. I really enjoyed reading their 2nd chance at love story and will def read more by this author.

Forced proximity, second chance, and opposites attract? How could I resist? Speaking of not being able to resist, the MCs circle each other spectacularly. The author does an incredible job cranking up the heat with these two, with a bold payoff. My one point of criticism is the MCs’ wounds didn’t seem as affecting to the overall story as they could have been.

We’ve been hearing about Willa and Dom throughout the series and finally their book is here and I loved it! 5 stars!

Dom jilts Willa on their wedding day and she leaves to go to America. When she returns to London, her brother set up Dom and Willa so that they all will be on a private island at a party together.

This was such a well done second-chance romance in my opinion. We really see how they perceived their relationship before the break-up and how they start to view each other differently when they connect after the break-up.

Willa expressing her anger and hurt toward Dom and her brothers was so well done. Maybe the HR’s I’ve read recently just haven’t had that, but I loved how Willa showed her emotions.

The hand flex moment was everything, of course. And the fact that Dom goes into a “rough accent” when he’s really being himself was so swoon.

The spice was SPICY. I mean the costume scene?! Incredible.

I also loved the cute moments between the previous couples. Highly recommend this entire series.

Overall, I thought the writing was incredibly well done and thought this was a fantastic end to this series.

Wow I have been waiting for this book! And Leigh absolutely delivered.

The MCs have been the source of a great deal of angst from the first book in this series. His decision to leave her at the alter (while allowing the gossip to be that she jilted him) has tainted her relationship with her brothers (who helped him leave her), her happiness, his moods, and so much more.

Dom, the son of a dock worker who made it big has always felt out of place with the gentry. At school he met and befriended two brothers (their books are 1 & 2 in this series). Those two friends helped him through this major transition in his life and eventually he met their little sister Willa.

Lady Willa, an earl’s daughter, a fierce opponent of the rules of the aristocracy, a rebel, a victim of neglect and even brutality, a strong, smart, capable woman, was humiliated a year ago when Dom left her.

Now, in a bid to force a reconciliation, or at best a truce, Willa’s brothers and their wives (one of whom is Dom’s sister) together with some friends have tricked them into attending a house party on a Scottish island. Neither knows to expect the other and the shock jumps off the page.

What follows is a story of reconciliation, a fiery passion in a rain storm in a secluded cabin (🥵🔥), forgiveness, honesty, growing up, acceptance, kindness, and on and on.

Hat tip as always to Leigh’s ability to make consent clear and sexy at the same time.

I have been highly anticipating this book since I read How The Wallflower Was Won, and it did not disappoint!

We first meet Dom and Willa at the beginning of Good Girls Guide To Rakes when Dom is having a complete meltdown about marrying Willa at the church on the day of their wedding because of things in his past that haunt him, he doesn’t think he is good enough for her. Willa’s brothers who also happen to be Dom’s best buddies think they are helping everyone avoid a lifetime of unhappiness by helping him flee the church and leaving Willa standing at the Altar. Heartbroken and humiliated Willa takes off on a tour of Europe for a year to try and get her groove back…meanwhile, back in London, Dom’s father and Kieran and Finn’s parents issue an ultimatum. If these 3 boys don’t get their shit together and cease their Rakehell ways and get married to respectable women, they are cut off from the family coffers. Well a year goes by, Kieran and Finn find their HEA’s and that bring us to where we are today: A remote Scottish Island, in which Dom and Willa have been tricked into coming to enjoy a house party not knowing the other would be there, about to each other again for the first time since that fateful day he jilted her. What could go wrong?

Pretty great setup! Upset at the manipulations by her brothers, Dom and Willa don’t know how they will survive the next few weeks together. They still care deeply for one another but she is hurt and doesn’t trust him, and he would do anything for her forgiveness but he also has personal baggage that makes him feel like he’s not worthy of her. After lots of groveling, witty conversation, being shoved together at every turn, and realizing that they didn’t truly let the other see them for who they really were. She is more than a highborn prize for a guy who doesn’t fit into aristocratic society, and he is more than a rough and tumble hottie she can use to show off her brazen flout of convention. After pages of yearning, they give into each other and rekindle their romance and holy mother, IT. IS. SEXY. If your favorite microtrope is “we got caught in an icy deluge, we better take refuge in this abandoned cottage that just happens to be here and get naked to keep each other warm”. Well then, this is the most EPIC of them all. Eva Leigh gives the people what they want! After lots of sex, a dinner of bread and cheese, more sex, a box of sex toys found in the cottage, being discovered by her brothers in a compromising location, and realizing they are meant to be lovers and partners and were made for each other, they get a romantic Scottish wedding and live HEA!

This is a lighthearted, fast paced, incredibly sexy, second chance romance and an excellent wrap up to the Last Chance Scoundrels series.

Satisfying end to a great series. They were my favorite couple. The pining was exquisite. Chef's kiss. I read it in less than 24 hours because it moved nicely and kept me engaged

Though she hates him for what he did, she soon realizes that hate and love are two sides of the same coin. And though he still feels unworthy of Willa, Dom soon finds that he can't resist the temptation any longer.

WOOOO boy this book! This was the perfect end to this series - Willa and Dom deserve everything. The angst in the first part of the book was so on point - I love an angsty historical romance and boy did this deliver. Second chance will always work best in a historical for me, and I really think this is one of the best iterations. You could clearly see how much growth they both had to do to truly be together. Dom had to realize that Willa is much more than the "princess" he thought her to be and had to open up to her and Willa had to have a better understanding of Dom's past and his heart.

Willa is also just one of my favorite heroines I've had the pleasure of reading lately. She is strong, she throws porcelain at walls, she doesn't accept Dom's initial apology and makes him GROVEL. And she also doesn't let up on him until he tells her the truth of why he ran away from her.

The second half of this book is mainly sex...and it was SO GOOD. It is one of the spiciest Historical Romances I've read, and honestly that's really saying something. There were multiple scenes, multiple positions, some light BDSM/kink...all around just absolutely what I needed and what these characters deserve.

Listen, I loved this book so much. It’s one of the most well-executed second chances I’ve ever read. I’ve been waiting for this book since chapter one of The Good Girl’s Guide to Rakes. It was angsty but all of the angst had intention and purpose and was paced out really well. The entire book was basically the aftermath of a third-act breakup, so this third act was just one marathon sex scene and normal human emotions.

Like it was angsty while still giving me the fluffiest coziest vibes??? God I just loved it so much. There was excellent work done in showing us who Dom and Willa were in the past and then who they were in the present, as well as how their views of each other and their relationship changed. The walls were finally torn down between them by the end of the book, which really gave purpose to the initial breakup. Was it shitty of Dom? Absolutely. Did it help them grow? Absolutely.

On top of a very well-paced, compelling plot… There was GROVELING. There were lusty Greek TABLEAUS. There was commanded MASTURBATION. There were GOOD GIRLS. There was a conveniently placed COTTAGE during a conveniently timed RAINSTORM. There was BREAD and CHEESE. There was SIXTY-NINING.

I’d be remiss if I didn’t give it up for my girl Willa because. QUEEN. Throwing porcelain at walls is so hot. She was strong, self aware, and not afraid to make Dom repent… Y’all idk what else to say he bloodied his knees groveling and going down on her so yeah that’s the hero’s journey I need. Dom was Hercules and his thirteenth labour was slaying pussy.

The Rogue’s Rules of Seduction was the perfect conclusion to the series and exceeded every single expectation I had. It was absolutely red hot and scorched my sensibilities. You may think you know what you’re going to get, but I promise that you’ll be surprised.
