Sky is having a lovely time with Karim until he starts acting weird. Ryan has been trying to take down Karim for ages and convinces Sky to help him out.

I'm in the middle of the road because there's a lot going on with this one ~ scamming, double crossing, a plan to take down the POTUS, espionage and a bit of romance. There are not many characters to like, but all of it comes together fine and the pace stayed pretty steady throughout. Obviously I'm not super big on the whole Uncle (mother's brother) who takes advantage of his niece plot, but in the end it helped bring the story around the bend.

This is my first experience with this author duo and I'd probably give them another try sometime.

Shocking, exciting and unpredictable, Evie Hunter’s The Scam is an exhilarating rollercoaster ride you will not want to miss.

Sky Kennedy is living a life most people would give their right arm for. Her partner Karim is rich, gorgeous and ready to give her the world. Having settled in St Tropez, Sky is rubbing shoulders with the rich and famous – and loving every second. However, when Karim suddenly sends her packing to the UK, Sky is flabbergasted. What could have possibly instigated this unexpected change of heart? Why does Karim not want her by his side? And why does he want her out of St Tropez sooner rather than later?

Ryan Callahan will do anything to take down Karim. Having spent years and years tracking him down, Ryan cannot believe that another woman has fallen for his lies and deceit. Ryan knows that Karim is using Sky for his own tested ends and he sees her shock at being dispatched as the perfect opportunity for him to help him snare Karim once and for all. Ryan is sure that Sky will go along with his plan, but little does he realise that the plucky young girl is nobody’s fool and she will not let any man control her.

She calls the shots now and she won’t stop until she gets what she wants – regardless of whoever stands in her way…

Evie Hunter’s The Scam is a fast-paced thriller full of action, tension and suspense that takes readers deep into a dark and dangerous world where all that glitters isn’t necessarily gold. With larger-than-life characters, high stakes and twists and turns galore, Evie Hunter’s The Scam packs plenty of punch and will leave readers on the edge of their seats impatient to find out how this nail-biting tale will unfold.

Congratulations on an eye-catching cover! It caught my eye and made me read the synopsis.

The characters are just so well written and realistic, the tension is built so effectively and you really do have no idea where the storyline is going or what the outcome is going to be!

This is a new author for me and I was totally draw in by the cover and title! How gorgeous is that cover?! I flipping love it. And I am happy to report that I also love the book.

We are whisked away to St Tropez with a story full of glamour and wealth when we meet Sky and some rather hot guys!

This started out like it was a romance. Then the author throws some action, lies into the mix and gives us a cross genre story full of grit! With plenty of twists and turns. I couldn’t read it fast enough!

I love the authors style of writing it is a fast paced easy read the story flows and I felt right there in story with the characters and descriptions.

Most importantly I am very happy that I have found a new author to read. If your looking for a grit lit book with some spice then this is the book for you….It is a must read.

Massive thank you again to Rachel for having me on another exciting blog tour ☺️

Set in the world of rich, famous and beautiful, The Scam by Evie Hunter is a revenge thriller hard to put down. I´ve spent few good eventful hours this weekend caught into the web of lies and deceit of the characters whose flaws and weaknesses are revelatory for the human nature in general.

The topic of the book is very actual and relates to many women that at least once have been probably scammed at least once while looking for love and happiness. Sky Kennedy is enjoying her life in the glamorous St. Tropez, in the company of her handsome and successful partner Karim. Suddenly though, he decides to send her back to the UK and she is desperate to understand where she was wrong and if she will ever see him again. It´s a promise of a good life that is slipped through her fingers.

On the other hand, Karim is from afar carefully observed by Ryan Callahan who is hunting him for a long time. Maybe now the right time has come to finally catch him. Is Sky a convenient trap to destroy him.

Pleasantly for my thriller mind, nothing I was thinking it will happened actually took place. The plot looks like a riddle that develops independently from the desires and ideas of the reader. The plot is the strongest part of the book, as it leads the rest of the story and shapes the characters in their everyday development. It also treats a relatively common topic those days, when women and men too can be easily get scammed in various relationships entrappement which are actually part of a well elaborated deceit aims.

For anyone looking for a crime thriller with unexpected twists from the very beginning of the story, The Scam reveals details that one may keep in mind for saving oneself from scams, any kind of sentimental scams.

A very clever story about a young girl with no family who gets sucked in by a gangster with a very sinister side and involved in a dark and deep way of life. Until she finds out but then what does she choose to do about it.
I struggled a bit in the beginning of the book but it definitely picked up and became more enjoyable.

The Scam is a crime thriller that will have you gripping your seat with white knuckles.
Money wealth, luxury, and thrills are the order of the day but, on the flip side, there is deceit, revenge, and handsome state protection guys.

Innocent little sky is the main character who is chosen over her best friend glamourous nancy for attention by Karim a wealthy playboy that likes living the high life.
What a cracking turmoil of a book. I've just given you a teaser. You've got to read it to find out the rest. Oh and theirs a lovely story going on in the background as well.

Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this excellent book. xxx

THE SCAM could cross over to many genre, romance, thriller, spies, gangs, seems like they threw a bunch of topics in a hat and drew them out every time they needed a topic!!! BUT....it kinda works!!!! I've been reading alot of true crime and needed a change, this is definitely a change.

A young woman is dating a good looking, rich man who she never thought would find her attractive. They have traveled on a romantic vacation when he suddenly sends her home. She's confused and a little hurt, but hey, she'll survive. But the young man is not quite what he seems. On the run from his father's terrorist plots, he's also being chased/ hunted by a team of investigators trying to stop the planned assasination of the US President. The young woman agrees to help stop the terrorists but finds herself torn between two men who are so different, it's almost.....almost???? I'm not telling anymore. If you want to see what happens next, read the book. It's a very good change of pace and entertaining in it's own right.

The Scam by Evie Hunter was another excellent book, It’s fast-paced with lots of twists and turns that drew me in from the beginning till the end. Evie's latest book is about lies, revenge, double crossing, and terrorist attacks with two love stories that crossed each other, which surprisingly fitted in well. I really enjoyed this book and looking forward reading more books by Evie in the future.

Big Thank you to boldwood books and netgalley for letting me review this book.

The Scam is a fast paced story with a lot of potential, but sadly fell a little short for me personally...

Hunter has creates a lighthearted plot surrounding dangerous crimes such as drugs money laundering, human trafficking and Islamist extremism...these barely get a mention though. I had some issues with the writing style. The different viewpoints were distracting and became a little repetitive in places. I also felt that the overall story was rushed and quite often unbelievable.

The Character development of The Scam is ok with some background information. Some aspects of the characters in particular Skylar were very dangerous and naive...

Skylar (Sky) comes across as a shy person, with little confidence, who hates the limelight. She prefered to stay in the background, until she became involved with wealthy entrepreneur Karim Amin. his charismatic and attentive manner towards her fetches out a change her perceptions in order to fit into Karim’s world...

Lead investigator Ryan watches as Skylar boards a plane amongst the business class. He could tell how unaccustomed to it. Ryan becomes highly suspicious about Amin’s interest in Skylar, as she isn't the type he usually goes for. Ryan hopes to exploit the fact that she’d gotten herself in above her head, in order to recruit her to his cause, to help him with his secret investigation into Karim.

Karim is a serial womaniser who lives by one golden rule "never to get emotionally involved". He comes across as a free spirit who hates to be told what to do. He is a dangerous man, who uses his charm and ego to get what he wants. He has become tierd of been in his line of work and plans to retire...

The main common factor between all three characters is money. Skylar's overall wealth amounted to almost two million pounds...Karim gives the impression that he wants to retire from a life of crime and needs money in order to do that...Ryan follows the trail of money as part of his investigation into Karim for secret goververment agency he works for....

I would suggest reading The Scam to people who enjoy crime fiction, thrillers and light reads, as it is a character driven story filled with deception, lies, crime, espionage and danger. The reader is able follow the drama unfold as they learn more..

THE SCAM, a high-stakes revenge thriller by Evie Hunter, begins withs with Sky Kennedy, a excited and independent, who can't believe her luck. She's met the man of her dreams and just so happens to be sipping top-class champagne in a hot tub in St Tropez. But when her boyfriend, Karim, receives a phone call, bringing their romantic weekend to an end, it kickstart a chain of events that reveals that not everything is as it seems.

With a plot that is well-paced and gripping, this an easy and transporting thriller, perfect for the holiday read, and well worth the twist at the end. With strong, personality driven characters, a reader can forget the somewhat less believable bits – hey, it's fiction, so we readers like to give a little license here and there!

The Scam is the ultimate revenge thriller. It’s gritty, fast-paced and draws you in from the very first page. With its flawed characters who all have secrets and its deliciously over-the-top plot. Pure escapism that you just won’t be able to get enough of!

My Thoughts:
Sky is use to being overlooked by men until a very handsome businessman takes interest in her and treats her like a princess. But just when she thought he loved her the story turns and she learns he’s not the man she thought he was. This story takes a interesting turn that you will not see coming. Again author Evie Hunter writes another book I enjoyed. Can sky trust anyone ?

Sky is seeing a man called Karim and she thinks everything is going well until he sends her back to the UK, unsure of what she has done to upset him.
Ryan has been tracking Karim for years and is determined to bring him down but Ryan can't understand how someone like Sky could be fooled by his lies. Sky is noones fool and can handle herself.

In this story there is revenge, lies, double crossing, terrorist attacks and in the middle there is two love stories crossed. The author has done an excellent job of mixing it all in and it makes a thriller with lots of unpredictable twists and turns that I couldn't put down. Highly recommend!

This is my first read by Evie Hunter who is actually two authors who share a passion for erotic fiction. I’m not a fan of romance or erotica but their books have excellent reviews.

The description is slightly misleading. Yes…Sky is in St. Tropez, on top of the world, but this is a quick getaway with a man she recently met. And he sounds too good to be true.

This terrorism thriller reads like a Lifetime movie..with surprise twists and too much romance. The romance was too much for me. Thrillers that contain romance should have a warning label! I know a lot of readers like the instant chemistry and sappy exchange but not me. Although the writing and plot are terrific, I don’t think this author is for me.

We first meet sky while she’s sitting naked in a hot tub and St. Tropez with Kieran and everything is five star from the Cristal champagne glasses to the champagne itself and she can not believe her luck. Usually her friend Nancy gets all the hot guys of influence but this time he picked her but not all is as it seems Although Kirran is the son of an influential man, that’s just a cover his dad is cultivated to full the British citizens and who he really is is way more dangerous .When sky flew home from St. Tropez she thought she saw a man from the plane in front of her apartment but when he reveals who he really is at first Sky doesn’t want to believe him and when she gets evidence it will be more painful than just a scammer trying to get her money. And there will be much more on the line besides her bank account. There was a lot I liked about this book but there was way more that I didn’t like. For example I didn’t like the fact that in the beginning she was so insecure and needy that her whole emotions depend on whether he texted her or not and then the same day she finds out his duplicity she kisses Ryan the guy investigating her “boyfriend.“ there were other things in the book that I found unbelievable and dangerously stupid but I won’t put it in because it would be a spoiler this is a romantic thriller and I won’t say don’t read it because I did want to find out what happened just read it at your own risk. The author definitely has talent and can spin a good yarn that was just things I found unbelievable and as I said dangerous that didn’t seem copacetic with the rest of the book. I received this book from NetGalley and the publisher but I am leaving this review voluntarily please forgive any mistakes as I am blind and dictate my review.
