Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the eARC!
I am familiar with this family from seeing their TikTok videos. This is a great story for children to see what it is like to have different family members. Everyone is different and we need to celebrate our differences. We all have imperfections which mixed together makes us- us! I enjoyed reading this book and looking at the colorful, vibrant pictures. I also like how there is a QR code at the end to watch a video from the family- very cute idea!

Having first seen this family on TikTok, this book was very interesting to read. Getting an insight into the author's life growing up, teaches us that we should always show kindness and compassion to everyone as we don't always know people's situation.

Thanks to Netgalley and Ginger with a Soul LLC for the ARC of this!

I'm a big fan of Peet's Tiktok content, so when I saw this picture book I was really excited! I liked how he tells the story of how much he identified with his family, despite being different, and missed the type of house he grew up in when he visited others with more typical houses. This was easy to read and enjoyable for my kids.

I have never read a children’s book with representation of height diversity before. The author has such a unique perspective of life and I love the way the art adds to the storytelling. I think the rhyming was a bit too much for me at points. But I really appreciated the content and the message of being different is amazing.

Little Imperfections is the story of an average-height child born to little parents. It tells us of his childhood and his insecurities about being the odd one out in his family and at social gatherings, like school. He has to deal with his parent's divorce and live with his family who has special medical needs. He has to come to terms with being himself. I thought it was really sweet and a good read for school-aged kids.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for letting me review this book. This was a quick and interesting read. It was a different point of view than what I’d originally thought it’d be about. Pete realizes that everyone is different and that is ok. The pictures were great as well.

I follow Peet and his family on tiktok and I think this story is a beautiful way to show kids that it is ok to be different. Your differences is what makes you special. Peet was a full size child growing up in a family of dwarfs and this book would be helpful for children dealing with the same thing.

A sweet and awesome book. Both myself and my kids loved it.

That said I came across Peet on instagram several months ago and so when I saw he had a book I looked it up on Instagram. It didn’t disappoint.

This was really great, if not a little too dense for a picture book. It's important to talk about the way all families are different because there is always going to be ONE reader, at the very least, who latches onto and relates to it. That's the whole point of literature. Even if they don't come from a family of little people, a lot of readers can find something in this to identify with, which I really, really love. We need more representation like this!

My only gripe was that for a picture book, like I said, it was a little dense. That's really it!

This is an endearing children's book of unusual caliber. This is because it mentions a boy who is taller than the rest of his family who appear to be Dwarfs, which he feels is not the 'norm'. These so-called "imperfections", as the title announces, were something to come to terms with as he lived out his day-to-day life at home, school and elsewhere.

Therefore, this would be an excellent book for parents and families to read and discuss, learning how to overcome what society may term "not normal", and/or how to treat all 'different' people with respect and acceptance, especially those deemed "imperfect".

Lovely blue hues accentuated the illustrations throughout this entertaining and educational "lesson". I believe astute children will get the message and be helped.

"Little Imperfections" is a sweet picture book that shares a message of positivity for children and families. I appreciated the story's focus on how everyone has their own little imperfections and struggles and that those things don't make you less than anyone else. Even the difficult parts of us come together to make the wonderful "you".

Though I feel the art style and prose could have been a bit more consistent in the quality, the author's genuineness shines as he tells his very personal story. I would recommend this book to younger readers and families who want books about self-acceptance and special families.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for making this available..

I love Peet and his family on tiktok, I think his mom is so loveable. I always enjoy watching their videos together, I like seeing from both point of views. Him trying to annoy her like any other kid would, and her still being a mom and taking it on the chin.

Reading this and seeing what it was like for Peet to actually grow up and go through the hard ships he and his family went through was sad but heartwarming. I'm happy that every day this family get to teach people about how being "little" is normal and that people who born this way go through life just like everyone else.

I hope a lot of people get to read this and it helps educate and teach young people and children everywhere that bullying isn't okay and that everyone is different in their own ways.

I follow Peet on social media & was so excited to be able to receive this ARC. It is a sweet, but honest book about his childhood & growing up different than his little family.

I had a great time reading this, I actually knew of the author Peet Montzingo from his youtube channel. So I was excited to read this. It works really well as a children's book but still enjoyable for adults. I'm glad I was able to read this, the art was wonderfully done and thanks for letting me read this.

I would like to thank Netgalley and the publisher for an advance copy in exchange for an honest review. I will admit I really didn't know who the author was but my 6 year old daughter did, so we read this book together. A wonderful story about love, acceptance and self-love even when you feel different. Loved the artwork.

Unlike many others, I did not know who Peet was before I began to read this book. I had a very strong sense of who he was by the time I read the last page.

For those who don’t know, Peet was a “normal” height child in a family of little people. In this brightly illustrated, rhyming title, he recounts his experiences growing up. It was not always easy for Peet (or anyone else in his family) but he found his way. His message is that others can too.

This is a children’s picture book but if it is to be read with very young children, and even with older kids, discussion seems important. There is Peet’s own unique story but also a branch out to the ways in which many may feel different or struggle when growing up.

Many thanks to Ginger With a Soul LLC and NetGalley for this title. All opinions are my own.

both the art and the story for this book is absolutely adorable. I love Peet, like most readers I assume so I was super excited to see he wrote a book about his family. This book brought a smile to my face and while it focuses on his family it can apply to anyone who feels different. This is definitely one I will recommend.

I thought that this was a lovely book and it was on that I enjoyed reading with my daughter
We used the story to talk about differences in families

She is at the age still where she doesn’t notice things that are different as being that, there are two children at school called Bella, one of which is white with blonde hair, the other has dark skin and black hair, I remember asking which was which and she said that one had red shoes the other black – and I will be embracing that for as long as I can

The book was really positive, it was well written and the author has told his story really well.
It had a lovely natural flow to the story and I am glad that he has chosen to share this – it has a really positive ending

It is 5 stars from me for this one – very highly recommended

As soon as I saw the cover but before I read who the author was, I knew the book was based on Peet Montzingo's family, as I have watched many of his Instagram videos for the last two years. This was a sweet book, that seemed honest and genuine, yet appropriate for a young audience. The illustrations were soft and appealing and captured his family's essence, especially his mother. I think readers will be fascinated by the juxtaposition of roles in his family, with him feeling like he was the odd one out, and might help young readers process their feelings.
