I went into this not knowing anything and it turned out to be very interesting. It’s full of rich details and characters. I really enjoyed this.

Less about Estee than her fictional friend, this is still an interesting look at ambitious women in the 1930s.

I really enjoyed reading this, it was a well-done historical novel, I was invested in what was going on in the time-period and the people in this world. The characters were so well done and did everything that I was hoping for and they worked in this time. I enjoyed the story so much and really glad I read this. Renee Rosen has a great writing style and I'm glad I read this.

"I pulled my feet free and sat up. “And don’t forget I fabricated a couple of dead parents, erased my sister’s existence altogether, and I only acknowledge my brother when I need money. What kind of vile person does those sorts of things?”

Renee Rosen is one of the author’s that I love reading. Her style of writing transports the reader to the time and place with her exact period details. Estée Lauder was a determined business woman well ahead of her time. Her tactics were at times questionable which led to many ups and downs in her pursuit. The author uses both real life characters as well as fictional to depict the struggles facing woman in the work field during this time. She does a great job telling this rags to riches story. #FifthAvenueGlamourGirl #ReneeRosen #NetGalley

I really went into this with no preconceived notions and I loved it! I have always loved historical fiction but I get bored reading about the same thing over and over. "Fifth Avenue Glamour Girl" was perfect to break me of this. The writing is so easy to read and the story is excellent. I knew nothing about Estee Lauder's story going into it and now am just little bit more knowledgeable.

This was one of my favorite books I read this year and from page one I was swept into the fascinating historical fiction depicting Estee Lauder.
The other main character Gloria is getting her hair done at a Brooklyn salon where she encounters Estee for the first time who is renting a corner of the shop to introduce her experimental products. Gloria's father was caught in a ponzii scheme and gets sentenced to jail and the family loses all their wealth and she becomes disconnected from them,
As time goes on Gloria builds a new life and career and eventually gets employed at Saks 5th avenue and works her way up the ladder to become an assistant buyer in the cosmetics department. Estee is working on her brand and the 2 of them become friends, supporters and at times enemy's often at each others throats.
It all comes together as their life's develop and the find the answers to the questions that they have been asking themselves, of what is important in life.
A must read and I look forward to many more future books by Renee Rosen.
