Nineteen years ago, three teenagers were murdered at The Devil's House. DS Jack Brody of Major Crimes investigates the cold case, and is convinced that the person who is currently in prison for the murders is innocent, even though he confessed.
Decent police work and a great team that works as a team finally catch the murderer.

The author, J. M. O'Rourke has done a great job on this first novel. It is engrossing, and kept me on the edge of my seat throughout.

Thanks to the publishers and Netgalley for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

Nineteen years ago in a small Irish village, three teenagers were murdered. The perpetrator, another local teen, is still in a secure unit. But then items from the victims start to appear.

DS Jack Brody from a specialist unit in Dublin is sent to investigate. He doesn't get a warm welcome from the locals, and soon forms a very dim view of the local Garda and its investigation of the murders. Brody, a former boxer, is tenacious and sets himself to discover the truth of the situation.

The Devi's House is a fast paced novel and a good read. The setting gives a good sense of place and the characters are strong. And the ending is well worth waiting for.

I have read quite a few thriller books recently. That said, I really liked the perspective in this book and found myself trying to guess what was going to happen.

As the first book in the series, I can't wait to read more in the series!

Thank you for the opportunity to read this ARC!

Detective Jack Brody investigates a cold case of murdered teens at Devils House from 19 years ago. Evidence taken from the crime scene begins appearing. Was the wrong person convicted?
This was a great read and first book I’ve read by J.M. O’Rourke and I hope to read more. I give many thanks to NetGalley, Inkubator Books and J.M. O’Rourke for the chance to read this ARC!

This was a great start to the Detective Jack Brody series, I enjoyed the mystery that was set up and enjoying trying to figure out what was happening in this world. The characters were great and worked really well in the world and I'm glad I was able to read this. It left me wanting to read more in this universe and enjoyed the way the author wrote this.

This is the sort of book which is great to take on holiday as it is easy to read, keeps you enthralled and doesn’t disappoint when it comes to a tight conclusion.

This was an easy read, and I don't mean that negatively.
I enjoyed the politics of old station and incoming police officer.
Body seems like a decent character with baggage to make him interesting.
I'll look forward to seeing more of him and his team.
It seemed a bit too sime when they thought they found the killer, but it didn't take away from my enjoyment of the book.
