I loved this book! I'm a beginner gardener, so I was really soaking up all the handy advice in here. When I picked it up, I didn't realize that it was only for growing plants outside, and also that it would primarily focus on gardening in the UK. Where I live we are definitely not going to be growing anything outside that will bloom for Christmas. But the photos were lovely, I appreciated the details on all the different types of plants and their needs, and the practical suggestions for setting up a garden no matter what space you have. Highly recommend to other beginner gardeners.

I enjoyed this, but I think it has a pretty limited audience, one that lives in warmer climates than mine. The pictures in the digital copy were blurry, I hope the physical book has clearer images.

Pots; Fill your containers with plants, tend to their needs, watch them flourish by Harriet Rycroft is a lovely book that teaches you how to nurture your indoor and outdoor plants! This is a wonderful edition to my gardening library!

With our garden space getting a lot smaller and many people renting, a pot garden is a great way to indulge ones love for plants. Ms Rycroft explains all the requirement for plants and joys of growing in pots. Also how to move your plants through the day/year to get the best benefits from a pot garden. From bulbs, perennials, bushes, trees and flowers all in a series of pots that will change your vista from day to day.
Great photos, very useful information and very easy to read.
Thanks you NetGalley and the publishers for the DRC

This is a nice book about growing things in containers. It's perfect for those with little green space or who would like to contain their garden. One thing I always wondered about was fertilizing in containers...as too much can be just as harmful as too little. Another thing I like to grow in containers is bulbs. This book covers both of those things and much more. Everything from soil, to types of containers, to the actual plants you pick to grow. There is a section on how to place your containers around your available space as well...which to me is an added bonus in this book. Overall, a nice companion book for people who like to grow in containers. I would say this is good for beginners and intermediate container growers. A great reference to have on hand.

Pots is a really comprehensive guide on how to grow all types of plants in pots year-round. I am an avid plant enthusiast and I still learned so much from this that I didn't know. I really liked the format of this and found it to be very informative and educational.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I have a rather large balcony, and over the last couple of years I have started growing plants, both on the balcony and in the house. I have some idea how to look after them, but when I saw Pots by Harriet Rycrofy was available on NetGalley I requested it very quickly.

Harriet is English, but the advice she gives in this book is universal. She has a sensible, calm, down-to-earth approach that is both comforting and informative. There are things I've never though about, like grouping plants, as well as advice on plant care, planning and the dreaded re-potting. This book is filled with inspiring photos, while being realistic about what is achievable. Highly recommend..

This book actually made me look properly at my garden, and I'm really proud of what I've achieved, even if it is a little haphazard.
The book inspired me to plant a bay tree, and I've been wanting to grow my own sage for a while. I've just come back from Bunnings (the "garden centre"), so I'll be off to add my new additions to my little balcony garden.

Read through netgalley but (full disclosure) I subscribe to bloom magazine and I own two of the books from their series (I bought these after reading through netgalley.
This book fell into my inbox at the perfect time! I have just bought about 9000 bulbs to pot up! I now have a list of ideas for my pot! The pictures are lovely and some great tips! Will definitely recommend and probably purchase a bit closer to payday!

This looks like a big, beautifully illustrated guide to flower gardening in pots. It seems comprehensive and includes a detailed list of possible plants. Unfortunately, the photos in my ARC were such poor quality that I could barely make them out so I am unable to publicly review the book.

I’d also recommend revising the cover. We gardeners love flowers and want inspiration on our books.
