Jeff Bezos is a leader if industry. Wether you like it or not Amazon is a company that Americans have grown dependent on in a short time and Bezos is the reason. In this book you get a look at his speeches and how he keeps his message to the point and with emphasis on the key points. As a sales manager this is a great book to teach my team on sales techniques for closing.

You don’t have to tell a bunch of readers that communication and a great use of the written word are key to success. But for this salesperson, these reminders were awesome and well delivered! I loved the synthesis of so many big ideas organized well in this book.

In summary: Say it well. Keep it short. Make it happen.

Some key takeaways from this book were

1. Keep it simple - take the guesswork out of your writing
2. Tell a story
3. Say it shorter
4. Start and end sentences with power. No meat in the middle
5. Use the active voice
6. BLUF bottom line up front - Use your statement of intent to open
7. Have single threaded leaders with precise focus
8. Unleash the metaphor
9. Create customer obsession
10. Use a traditional story arc
11. Use “If there’s one thing you need to know: it’s this …” to draw attention to a main point
12. Ask “So what?” two times before sharing information with others
13. Rule of 3 - have three legs of support, most effective
14. Take time for creativity
15. Think long term, like looooooong term

I’ve read a business book every month this year and this is top of the list for action items that can affect my business and even personal communication in a global way.

The Bezos Blueprint by Carmine Gallo details the communication & leadership secrets of Jeff Bezos. Oh you know Jeff and the empire he has built with Amazon. Yes, that’s the one. I’m so intrigued. When I seen his name on the book, I knew this was a book I wanted and I found myself taking it all in chunks. A huge thank you to Netgalley & St Martin Press for not only a digital copy but also an audiobook and physical copy. I enjoyed all three versions. I took many notes along the pages. It’s such an awesome reading experience reading along while listening to the audiobook at the same time. This is truly a great book filled with practical advice, tips & tricks on creativity, messaging and communication.

If you’re looking to improve communication skills, maybe start a business or turn yours up a notch or three, this is the book for you. I highly recommend The Bezos Blueprint.

This was a very interesting audiobook. I was expecting more of an autobiography type book on Benzos himself, but instead this is an insightful look into what has made Bezos and amazon so successful. I think any budding entrepreneurs or people in business in general will benefit greatly from this read.

For nonfiction, it was very readable and did not drag as many in the genre do.

Besides being an avid reader, I am a corporate warrior during weekdays. I have worked in a large corporation for very many years and I have read my share of business management books over the years.
To be honest, there is no new groundbreaking ideas expressed in this book. Where this book shines is its simplicity and straight-forwardness. The book title, "The Bezos Blueprint" may not do its justice as it also incorporates some other business icons ideas, and not just Jeff Bezos. It introduces you how short and simple presentations can be a powerful tool for communication. I wholeheartedly agree with this idea, and can use tips to apply this to my day-to-day work. The book is very easy to read and understand as well. The book gives tips to focus on what you truly value. It came at a right timing for me too - publishing in November 2022, when Holiday Season is approaching and life is hectic. I hardly give 5 star ratings, and this book deserves it.

I recommend this book to all speechwriters, editors, all managers in corporate America, and anyone who gives presentations. Even if you may not be interested in business books, I feel this book may be an enjoyable read.
It's a good book.

An advance copy of this audiobook was provided courtesy of NetGalley and Macmillan Audio. Opinions are my own. Truly. Thank you.

If someone hears the title of The Bezos Blueprint they may assume the book is about Jeff Bezos' and the empire he has built with Amazon, Blue Origin and countless other companies. They wouldn't be wrong, but they also wouldn't be right. What I enjoyed about reading The Bezos Blueprint is that the concepts are distinct, easy to comprehend and well laid out. This isn't a what Jeff Bezos did, but a how Jeff Bozos achieved his success. Carmine Gallo is able to communicate that message effectively using antidote's, stories and interviews with other success CEO's.

Thank you St. Martin's Press and NetGalley for allowing me access to the audio ARC in exchange for feedback.

The Bezos Blueprint
Review Score: 4 Stars

Five Key Feels

-Learning about Bezos’ background was very interesting, especially when you look at where it led him today.

-I loved idea of being a “learn it all” instead of a “know it all”.

-As a lover of books, I enjoyed reading about how some of the most influential people of our time are also voracious readers.

-This book also discusses the background of several other companies, and I found that very interesting.

-While I am perhaps not the target audience of this book, I learned quite a bit.
