Cassie is busy planning her wedding to Jamie, when a work colleague shows her a picture of her fiance kissing another woman. Rather than confront him as most people would do, Cassie takes it upon herself to mastermind an epic reveal of her cheating partner on their wedding day, in front of all his family and friends.

Wow wow wow! When I read this was a revenge thriller, I admit, I did doubt how far it could go before Cassie got caught. But holy moly, there was so much more to this book and I'm glad I listened to everyone who raved about this author because this book literally blew my socks off!! If you like entertaining thrillers, I recommend going into this one blind and enjoying the ride. This is my first Jess Kitching book but definitely won't be my last.

Cassie has always been cynical about love. Jamie changed all that. As their wedding day looms, Cassie is devastated to discover that Jamie is a cheater. She's not just sad and heartbroken, she's angry.

'How to Destroy your Husband' is an easy read. Although I did find it a slow starter, it definitely makes you want to find out how it all ends.

Is revenge sweet, or is it just another bitter pill to swallow?

I wanted to enjoy this but found it hard to follow and overall a bit kooky and... strange. I didn't like any of the characters and the story was a bit dull.

Thank you, NetGalley for the ARC of How To Destroy Your Husband in exchange for an honest review.

Tbh, I was very excited to read this. The premise reminded me a lot of Gone Girl. If it isn't obvious, I must say it, I adored Gone Girl. So, of course, I had high expectations for this. That was my big mistake.

This was a huge disappointment. It has such an interesting premise, but the execution was terrible.
The pacing was very slow. The main issue was that there wasn't much of a mystery which made this very tedious.

Cassie as a protagonist lacked urgency. She had her moments but otherwise was quite bland. Jamie was simply a one-dimensional antagonist. He was annoying and revolting. Both of them weren't very nuanced.

One of my favourite aspects of a domestic thriller is the relationship between the main characters. But it wasn't done well here.

The ending was also very underwhelming and inconclusive. There was no proper resolution and it ended rather abruptly.

Thanks to Kingsley Publishers and Netgalley for the advanced electronic copy of this book. Jess Kitching is an auto buy author after her debut novel last year and I was pleased to have the chance to read How to Destroy your Husband.
Jess has an easy to read writing style, unlikeable and untrustworthy characters which I love in a thriller to keep me on my toes, and an interesting weave of current affairs- in this case, toxic masculinity and coercive relationship control.
Although I guessed the final twist, I did enjoy the way it brought about an abrupt ending. A slower paced unravelling of events (and people!) is the draw card for this book,

How to Destroy Your Husband ✨REVIEW✨
By Jess Kitching

➡️ Swipe for synopsis.

This is Jess’s second books and I had high hopes going into it as I loved her first one. I was not disappointed, I devoured How to Destroy Your Husband in 24 hours!

I really enjoyed everything about this book. The characters were brilliant. Cassie to me was the girl next door, a teacher, loyal friend and devoted girlfriend. Jamie sounded amazing too, also a teacher, handsome, protective boyfriend. Until he wasn’t…

The story moved at a good pace that kept you guessing but didn’t leave you confused. Unraveling just how little Cassie actually knew about Jamie you are left feeling immensely hurt for her and wishing you could help her destroy her husband.

And, oh my the ending… after my nerves had already been on high alert throughout the whole book, to end with that 😳
Such a good read!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Thank you so much @netgalley and @jesskitchingwrites for the arc of this book. I recommend that everyone reads both books by Jess and I can’t wait for my paperback to arrive so I can add it to my shelf.

How to Destroy Your Husband is a story about betrayal and how far one will go to seek revenge.

Cassie has sworn off men until she meets the perfect guy. As she is planning her wedding, an act of betrayal is revealed. Lies and deception follow as the wedding countdown continues. What will happen when Cassie is standing at the alter?

Pros: It was an interesting story and I was intrigued by the plot. I wanted to read more to find out what would happen next. As more and more details were revealed and I became invested in the story of Cassie’s journey.

Cons: I was not a fan of the main characters and, while I was rooting for her, Cassie wasn’t very likable. She had sworn off men and was a strong woman, but she kept giving in to what other people wanted. I enjoyed the cliffhanger but the ending was anticlimactic and I was not thrilled with the outcome.

This book was pretty good. It held my attention until the end but the ending felt rushed. Still a good story overall!

If you’re looking for a page-turning revenge thriller, then you need to grab a copy of “How to Destroy Your Husband.” Cassie and Jamie are a month away from tying the knot when Cassie find out Jamie is cheating on her with a fellow teacher. Well! Cassie is not about to let Jamie make a fool out of her, and she’s plotting to dish out some very public payback. But the more Cassie digs into what Jamie’s been up to, the more she finds out she never really knew Jamie at all. Who is her fiancé really, and is he just unfaithful or are his secrets far more sinister?

I picked up this book solely on the cool title, and I’m so glad I did! Jess Kitching is a new author to me, and she does not disappoint! The writing style is fun and conversational, adding a charming levity to this tense psychological thriller. Cassie is understandably vindictive and sometimes unlikeable, but so skillfully drawn that you can’t help but root for her to take Jamie down! Jamie is a steaming hot pile of human garbage that deserves every iota of revenge Cassie can muster and then some. I would have loved a little more of his backstory to round out his despicable character, but overall I enjoyed the heck out of this twisty tale.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Kingsley Publishers for providing me an advance copy of this book.

Thank you so much Netgalley. Kingsley Publishers and Jess Kitching for the ARC!

How cool is the title?! I'm glad my parents didn't see what I was reading because they would be spooked. They already think I'm going to wreck havoc in my future partner's life. I love Cassie's reaction to the whole cheating thing. She is equally kind and fierce. While she wanted to take revenge on Jaime, she didn't forget that his parents were completely innocent and cared about them. It takes a lot to be that considerate when all your dreams have been shattered. At least if it were me, I would have been crushed, humiliated and depressed to be taken for a fool, pushed everyone away and lived the rest of my life in a jungle. Her thought process and desire to seek revenge but also consideration for the other individuals who were hurt and deceived by Jaime were interesting as well as heart warming.

The starting was brilliant. It sets the atmosphere well. The narration was gripping, intense and at times hilarious. I love the sisterhood between Cassie and her friends - Alisha, Lily and Laney who always had each other's back.. The only complaint I have is we don't get a proper explanation for why Jaime is the way he is. The situation escalates very quickly near the end and though I like the ending, I don't like what happens with Jaime. Overall, a great read.

I finished this book in 2 days. My first by this author and I really liked her writing style. She knows how to pull you in immediately.
What would you do if you found out your fiancé was cheating? What about if it was just one month before your wedding? Then what if you found out it was even worse than you thought? That he really wasn’t the man you thought you knew at all. Would you just walk away or would you ruin him? I mean that’s what he’s just done to you so why not right? But then that ending! Wow! Great book.

Cassie sees a photo of her fiancée kissing someone. Shock sets in, then
rage,
planning revenge,
plotting revenge,
doing revenge.

This was a very interesting read, however too long for me. Over 350 pages. I could only take so much rage and nausea, thus I ended up skipping some chapters in the middle and jumped to the end. If you like details, this is the book for you.

How to Destroy your Husband

Cassie has found out that Jamie her fiance is cheating on her. Within a month of the planned wedding. She fruits her colleague showing her a picture of him cheating and now Cassie is wanting to show him the treatment he's given her. It's a slow-paced book at first leading up to an anticipated ending. Finding the dark secret that she was unaware of she becomes even more vengeful. She wants to make the best of his life the worst revealing his secrets.

After seeing the title, I didn't even need to read the synopsis to know that I had to read this one, and the author's sophomore effort did NOT disappoint!

I love a good revenge story, and this one features Cassie, who swore she was done with love. But then she met Jamie, who was absolutely perfect. After a whirlwind courtship, a wedding is on the horizon. With less than one month to go before the big day, Cassie is presented with irrefutable proof that Jamie is cheating with one of his co-workers. After further investigation, she finds that Jamie's cheating is just the tip of the iceberg...how was she so blind? Refusing to play the victim, Cassie concocts an elaborate plan to destroy her would-be husband on what should be the happiest day of their lives, their wedding day. Swept up in the throes of anger, retaliation, and retribution, Cassie fails to heed a friend's warning. Will her desire for revenge destroy her in the end instead of Jamie?

I could NOT put this book down. It was a fantastic story of lies, betrayal, and vengeance with an ending that made me spew profanities out loud! I can't wait until this one is out in the world on October 23! Thank you so much to the publisher and the author for my early copy!

A revenge thriller is the best kind of thriller. This was definitely a page turner with lots of suspense.

What a RIDE! This book was incredible, it was TWISTED, it made me SO angry for Cassie. How far will you go to destroy someone who's hurt you?

It was full of RAGE, HIGH LEVEL OCTANE!

Bravo Bravo and Bravo 5 STARS from me!

I was so excited to receive this e-arc, because I love a good revenge story!

I had a few theories about what was going to happen early on, but none of them were right which I'm always happy to find out! I found the first 40% of the book pretty slow, to be honest. Cass didn't handle things quite like I would have, and I found the revenge Cass had planned to be much simpler than I was led to believe.

Things did pick up after the 40%-mark though, and I was wound up in suspense for the rest of the book (it was stressful! haha).

Overall it was okay. My husband was uncomfortable with the title (maybe thinking it was an instructional guide or something), which entertained me greatly!

Wow! Right from the start this book sucks you in.

Cassie is a month away from marrying Jamie, the love of her life. Then she finds out he has betrayed her in the worst possible way. Will she let him get away with it? Oh no, she plans to destroy him.

It is shocking, but at the same time I found it very relatable. I found this book to be an edge of your seat read and devoured it as quickly as possible.

I loved Jess's first book; The Girl She Was Before. I couldn't wait to read this one once I heard she had written a new book.

Thanks to NetGalley & the publisher for my copy to review.

First of all this is my first book by author Jess Kitching. I'd heard so many great things about her first book but had not gotten around to reading it. When I saw How to Destroy Your Husband on Net Galley, I knew I had to request this book. I was elated to be approved. I couldn't wait to read this. And I was not disappointed. The author sucked me in from the very beginning. I was cheering for Cassie in every chapter. I couldn't wait to see what happened. I went to work extremely tired this morning because I stayed up until 2:00 am trying to finish the book. I got to 83% on my Kindle and decided I needed to wait so I could be refreshed; and enjoy this rollercoaster ride. I counted down the hours to finish work today so that I could hurry home, and pick up my Kindle. I absolutely loved this book, and highly recommend it. The excitement has you turning page after page. You can bet I'll be going back to read Ms. Kitching's debut novel.

"My Synopsis"
The book starts out with Cassie and her three best friends comforting each other over broken relationships and broken hearts. Cassie says no man is worth the hurt they have all felt. She doesn't need a man to make her happy. That is until she meets Jamie. They hit it off from the very beginning. Their relationship flourishes and soon Jamie proposes. Cassie doesn't hesitate to accept, and is soon planning her dream day wedding. She has her three best friends as her bridesmaids of course. Nothing can destroy Cassie's happiness, until a friend shows her something that threatens to destroy her. Instead of cancelling her special day, Cassie decides to get even. She will destroy Jamie if its the last thing she does. How many other lives has he ruined?

If you are looking for a book that's great from beginning to end I hope you will pick up this book when it releases. If I could give this more then 5 stars I would. Thank you to Net Galley for giving me the chance to read and review this book.

My thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for my e-ARC.

I was really excited to be approved for this because I really liked Kitching’s debut, The Girl She Was Before.

Cassie Edwards has become jaded and cynical about love. Especially after her girlfriend, Lily, got her heart broken by someone who was supposed to be a sure thing. It doesn’t help that she is constantly being reminded that she is nearing her “best by” date.

It’s not for lack of trying. She joins dating sites, chats with potential matches, goes on dates… No luck. Who’d have thought she would meet the perfect guy the old-school way? Handsome and a teacher like herself.

Their relationship is a dream. Until…a month before their wedding…a bombshell. Jamie is cheating on her with a work colleague. Tara is not the only betrayal. Jaime is not the man she thought he was. Nor is Cassie is not the woman she used to be before Jaime came into her life.

Paranoia sets in and Cassie is on a mission. Of destruction. As she formulates her plan, she plays along with the charade of normalcy.

But, unfortunately or fortunately, things don’t go according to plan.

Another enjoyable read. Apt attention-grabbing title. Alluring blurb. Unforeseen end(I had a hunch, but I was wrong). I often read multiple books at a time, but Kitching’s plots are so engrossing and her writing so readable that I put the others aside.
