How To Destroy Your Husband by Jess Kitching has such an intriguing title! The novel revolves around a character named Cass who finds out that her live in fiancée has been cheating on her by being shown a photo of him kissing another woman. Cass is devastated and seeks to find out the truth of what is actually happening before she gets married. What she finds out shocks her and she begins to plot a way to seek her revenge.

This novel was an easy read and one that was enjoyable with many plot twists. I would like to thank NetGalley and Kingsley Publishing for allowing me to read this novel in exchange for a fair and honest review.

What a clever, riveting and exhausting book! There was not one single moment when I relaxed reading this! The twists and turns and layered plot make for quite uncomfortable reading in a thrilling way. I could feel myself wanting to shout to stop some of the ‘planning’ - the characters were so well brought to life that I lived every moment with them!

I can’t say much more without revealing anything about the plot, but it is fast-moving and certainly twisty and action-packed. I was quite nervous as the plot neared a climax. Wow! What a read!

Another plot featuring a disgusting, repulsive man who is clearly a malignant narcissist. This one could have been saved by a good main protagonist, but unfortunately, it was not! That Jamie is the worst scumbag in the book is clear, but Cassie is a bad construted protagonist and I tell you why:
1. She is the shadow of a man who is a liar and a manipulator, because even when she discovers everything, she is still thinking about Jamie for most of her days;
2. She spends her spare time drinking heavily!! How about filling your free time with something creative, useful and productive? I despised her for doing this to herself.
Having not liked the main protagonist, the book left me with a sour taste in my mouth, figurativelly speaking. It is boring, bitter, repulsive and shallow!
Thank you Netgalley for an advanced copy in exchange for AN HONEST REVIEW!

A wonderful fiance, a great job a wedding of her dreams on the way Cassie has the perfect life. However, with less than a month before her wedding, she finds her finance is cheating.

Rather than just dumping him, she wants revenge and a twisted adventure begins with Cassie delving deeper into Jamie's background, making her realise she hardly knows this man she is to marry soon.

There are lots of twists and turns as Cassie plots her revenge. Just as you thought you had the ending sussed, there’s an unexpected shift that takes it to another level. Loved this book, put this on your TBR pile now!

What do you get when you put two narcissists together? This book.

Cass shunned love and stopped believing in the second her best friends boyfriend left her. He seemed like the perfect man and when he was gone, all of Cass’ hope was too.

“The longer my single status when on for, the more people seemed to think they had a right to comment on it, as if my lack of a romantic partner meant there was a fundamental flaw with my life.”

I couldn't stop reading this one Jamie's scandals got loose! It was definitely slow at first but not did it pick up after that!

I hated Jamie. I think he deserved what he got AND MORE (as you'll see in the end) because he was truly reminiscent serial killer. He checked all the boxes for how it begins. The vile way in which he spoke of his fiancé literally made me scream. The way he talked about women in general was disgusting.

“She doesn’t like you kissing her like that? Make her like it. When women say no, what they really mean is ‘convince me’. I’ve never heard a no that I can’t turn into a yes.”

Take it from this loser boys and girls… NO SIMPLY MEANS NO. H E L L NOOOO!

Cass on the other hand was your usual victim blinded by love. All the signs were there, they just pointed away from a problem because Jamie was a manipulator who made it seem everything he said and did was for her benefit.

“The signs something was amiss with my relationship have been there all along. When I look at Jamie’s life, all I see are the gaps in what I know. The vagueness in his social plans, the separateness in our friendship groups. Jamie meets my friends regularly, but the gesture is rarely returned. Where are the invitations to drinks with Jamie’s friends? Why don’t we go to their homes for dinner?”

Ha! How wrong she was...I don't understand how her friends and family (or his) didn't see it. I have had boyfriends like Jamie in the past and RIGHT AWAY my friends knew something was off. From the first time I was told I had to "leave early" to agreeing to plans and then changing them last minute to benefit him, all things Cass did, my friends were concerned. Thankfully I was out before it got this far. But still. How did they not see ANYTHING? That's how this read got four stars instead of five. Just seemed like there should have been more people other than Debbie, who wasn't one of cass's besties, on her side.

I have to say when Cass finally opened her eyes, I was rooting for her. I was praying that she got through this on top. Jamie seemed so repulsive and reading of his ways truly angered me. But then again, we’ve all met a good manipulative cheat.

“What we have for dinner is such a small decision but in the context of what I now know, it’s so much bigger than that. What starts with me not eating what I want because he doesn’t feel like it quickly moves to me canceling plans with friends because Jamie can’t be bothered or turning down a job opportunity because it means less time together. And I did it, every time, for him. I gave up so much until I’m not even sure of my own voice anymore. The music I listen to, the clothes I like, the dreams I have…who do they belong to really?

I order the Chinese on principle, but when it arrives, I barely touch it. There’s no room in my stomach for food when it’s already so full from digesting the warnings and truths I have ignored for so long.”

Some of the lengths Cass went had me screaming, some had me laughing, and some I knew would blow right up in her face as they did.

My favorite part, which is unusual for me since I like a nice clean ending, was that this one didn't have that. The author made you think it was done and through but then BAM! Last page twist. It was awesome!

I can't wait to read the other book Jess Kitching wrote because I was definitely a fan of her style.

A-MA-ZING!!!!
Jess has knocked it out of the park again! I absolutely loved The Girl She Was Before and I wasn't sure she'd be able to beat how good that book was but she did it!! The characters were amazing again, I totally wanted to slap Jamie and give Cassie a huge hug. I absolutely loved Debbie and everyone needs someone like her and Cassie's friends in their corner.

I am so glad I found Jess and her writing. She is not only an amazing author but a truly wonderful person.

How To Destroy Your Husband is a revenge / domestic thriller by Jess Kitching, her second published novel.

I got through this one relatively quickly, but it wasn't necessarily because the storyline had me hooked. The premise was interesting, however it lacked the fast pace that I like in my thrillers.

The MC frustrated me. If I had found out my fiancé had been cheating on me, I don't think I'd go to the lengths she did to get my revenge. I'd be a weeping mess in the corner, wondering how I was going to put my life back together. Her relationships with some of other characters didn't make much sense either. The way she went about including Tara in her plans didn't seem realistic and I don't believe she was naïve enough to not have seen some of Jamie's actions as suspicious before being told he had cheated.

And I'll try not to spoil the twist but I was disappointed in how that also played out. It didn't make sense from how the story had been built to that point.

Overall, I'm still rating the book as 3 stars. It was a fun read that kept me company whilst I couldn't sleep and I was eager to keep turning the pages.

Loved it. This book was so entertaining. It should be a movie. I love some characters and hated others. I love how she wrapped things up and I wasn't disappointed. And the last twist was perfect.

Of course the title caught my attention! A am so glad I chose to read it!!! The book kept my attention and I didn't want to put it down. Had me on my toes so much that while reading it I just started reading it out loud an then my husband became interested! He had to step out for a moment and asked me what happened next when he got back in the house!

Cassie found the love of her life, Jamie, and he's the perfect husband to be. Their wedding is a month away and she learns that he his cheating. She's doubtful, even though she has seen the picture with her own eyes. As she starts looking into it, her world just stops. The man she's going to marry is not the man she knows at all.

Instead of calling it off, she's decided to pay him back and plans on doing whatever it takes to bring him down, or should she? Let's not forget Karma is a $%#@! With all these twists and turns, you'll be on your toes and want to know what happens next!

I want to thank Kingsley Publisher for allowing me to read this through NetGalley for my honest review.

Cassie Edwards swore she would never fall in love. One night while out with her best friends, she meets Jamie Patrick. The two become inseparable. Jamie and Cassie get engaged, and a month before the big day, Cassie learns that Jamie is cheating on her. Heartbroken, Cassie goes home to confront her fiancee and realizes what she wants more than a confrontation is revenge on Jamie and the woman he's having an affair with. Cassie begins to look for evidence of his cheating. The more she digs into his past, the more she realizes she doesn't know Jamie. She also wonders how far Jamie will go to keep his secrets hidden.

This is the first book I have read by this author. I speed-read through the second half since it dragged, and I lost interest. I did want to see how Cassie's revenge plan would play out I didn't expect the twist at the end.

A big thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for allowing me early access

Less than a month out from her wedding, Cassie discovers her soon to be husband cheated on her with a co-worker. Binded by her rage, she decides on seeking revenge - to destroy him. While on her quest for the truth, Cassie learns just how little she knows about the man she shares her life with. Should she fear Jamie? Or should she destroy him?

To say I wanted more would be an understatement. This was a delicious page turner right from the start. Everytime I had to put it down, it was all I could think about. I did end up finishing way past my bedtime, just so I would be able to sleep. If you love a quick, immersive thriller, than this is definitely for you!

I have mixed feelings about this book, I really liked the plot, but the execution was so underwhelming.
The entire book was written in a flat line manner, everything was revealed in the exact same pace, it honestly felt like one of those dreams when everything is happening fast but you're moving in slow motion.
The characters were so bland and irritating, in this kind of books, all I want is to feel a connection to the main character, instead I wanted to shake some sense into cassie!!
I didn't like the ending, it was literally the last straw, I wanted some kind of closure, not a clever end scene.
Basically on the middle with this one.

Wow I can’t really put into words a way to describe this book. It was absolutely amazing and by far one of my favourite reads this year. It had a unique storyline that kept me hooked from start to finish. It has a wonderful ending I did not see coming. Am away to buy this authors previous book now. Highly recommend.

Thank you to Netgalley, Jess Kitching, and Kingsley Publishers for an advance copy of How To Destroy Your Husband in exchange for an honest review. The main thing I have to say about this one is, YES, YES, YES! This was the perfect thriller that had me hooked instantly. I found myself constantly rooting for Cassie and constantly wondering what the heck Jamie was going to get into next. I wont say much more because I would hate to spoil anything for you. You need this one in your life if you love a quick thriller and lucky for you, it just published yesterday (10/23/22)!! I am SO excited to read more from this author in the future.

What would you do if you found out the man you loved, the man you were marrying in less than a month not only cheated on you but was also not the man you thought he was? Would you just leave or would you seek revenge?

For Cassie Edwards, these were the decisions she faced after finding out Jamie her fiancé cheated on her with one of his work colleagues. Cassie finds herself going down a dark path of revenge setting out to destroy Jamie.

I really liked the premise of this story. While I found it a quick read I just, unfortunately, didn’t vibe with the characters. I found the story a bit slow and drawn out and was waiting for something big to finally happen. Even though this story didn’t work for me personally I will be checking out this author's first book in the future.

Thank you to @kingsleypublishers and @netgalley for the eARC. How to destroy your husband is now available for purchase.

Ok, wow! This book was not what I was expecting! You know how in a book you think you know what is happening? Well I felt that way when reading How to Destroy Your Husband and boy was I wrong! This was a great book that pulled you in so many difference directions. My only complaint was the ending because I am a "wrap it up in a neat package" kind of girl and that wasn't the case. Great read!

This was a very good thriller. The characters were very well rounded and the story moved so quickly, I finished it in one day. Cassie is the perfectly imperfect heroine. I found it hard to hate her fiance, Jamie, until about midway through the book. However, the twist at the end had me reeling. A wonderful, quick read.

This was a twisty little thriller with shades of feminism.

The book describes Cassie, engaged to Jamie, who begins to suspect he's cheating with a co teacher. As Cassie begins to sleuth around, she may have discovered much more? Or innocence.

This book moved very quickly and was an entertaining read. You do need to suspend your disbelief, but that's often a part of what makes reading fun.
