Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for granting me a copy of this book in return for my honest opinions.

This book is part of a series, however enough information is given that it can be read a a stand alone Novel.

The book is a sweet romance story about Asher a young Amish man who is suddenly left to care for his brother's children, three year old triplet boys (Zeb, Zeke, and Zack) and a five year old girl (Lottie) upon the death of him and his wife

Everything bis okay for a while until Asher loses his Nancy and needs help immediately.

Martha a woman four years older than Asher who was once his teacher offers help. Asher once had a huge crush on her plus her family reputation is somewhat questionable.

Asher decides to accept her help. Their relationship is so sweet. I loved their romance story. The author did a great job revealing perceptions and gossip are not always true.

Highly recommend.

Martha and Asher’s moving, uplifting, emotional story in Her Amish Patchwork Family, by Winnie Griggs, book three in the Hope Haven series, is a delightful story about a family that was separated too soon. Bachelor Asher Lantz became the guardian of his niece Lottie, and triplet nephews: Zach, Zeb, and Zeke after his brother and sister-in-law were killed in a buggy accident; and is in desperate need of a nanny. Martha Eicher has just returned to her family’s home after caring for a relative for three months. Martha used to be Asher’s teacher many years ago. After the present nanny breaks her arm, Martha volunteers to take over for six weeks. Martha falls in love with the children; winning the hearts of the four children and as well as Asher’s heart. As much as Martha wants to fall for Asher there are secrets stopping her; causing Asher to believe the worst about Martha. The truth will need to come out and misunderstandings cleared up, before this friendship can heal and love can win. The children added an additional layer and depth to this story; squirming into this reader’s heart.

Ms. Griggs wrote a story that tugs at your heart, holding you hostage until the very last page; reading it in one day. Take a misunderstanding, a younger man, four orphans cared for by their uncle, and a woman who has lost her place in her world and you have a patchwork family. I highly recommend Her Amish Patchwork Family to other readers.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

Winnie Griggs has done an outstanding job of moving the story forward about a former teacher’s assistant and her former Scholar who needs a Nanny for his niece and nephews.

Not only is the story well written, but the characters are well developed throughout the story. You will fall in love with Martha, Asher, the kids and Asher’s grandmother, a woman with great wisdom. Since we have met Martha and Asher in a previous story, this book shows them in a truer version of themselves.

The author pulled me into this read, and didn't let me go! Yes, this one was a page turner, and almost from the beginning I knew how I wanted everything to turn out. Now, did I get my wish? Well, you will be turning pages as I did for answers.

This is the story of life, and some of the not so fun parts, where young parents die and leave four toddlers. Their Uncle steps up and along with his Grandmother they are raising these children, they also have a nanny.

When circumstances put Martha Eischer at Asher Lantz's door one morning, assumptions and past hurts come to a head and the welfare of the children take priority!

You will love the children, the family interaction, and throw in a bit of sweet romance!

In the small community of Hope's Haven, Ohio, Martha Eicher has had to grow up fast. With her mother's passing, she's been in charge of the household, caring for her father and her siblings while also acting as a teacher in the local Amish school. Now, it looks like her family does not need her anymore. Her sisters are grown, with husbands, and her dad has remarried. Martha wonders what she will do with the rest of her life.

She has a reprieve when she's summoned to Shipshewana for three weeks to care for her cousin, Brenda, before and after she gives birth to her third child. However, her three weeks away turn into three months, so now she is back home and happy. But what is she to do? Of course, she can continue living with her daed and stepmother, but she doesn't want to be a third wheel.

Then she hears that Asher Lantz, an old childhood friend, needs a nanny, so she can help him. But 12 years ago, they had a misunderstanding, and she wonders if Asher would even want her help. If so, would they be able to mend fences and get along?

Their first meeting does not go so well, and he is barely civil to Martha, but he cannot forget his feelings from long ago:

"When Martha had been the assistant teacher, he'd been in sixth and seventh grades. He's watched her as she worked with the younger students and admired her patience and empathy as she helped them with their work. And somewhere along the way, he'd developed a crush on her. The fact that she was older than him by nearly four years hadn't mattered to his adolescent self.

"Of course, it hadn't helped that for a while that his middle bruder Ephron seemed poised to court her himself. She must have looked at him as nothing more than a kid, one of her pupils.

"And then, the summer between seventh and eighth grades, everything changed. Not only between him and Martha but for his entire family. . . ."

Now, after Asher has lost his brother and sister-in-law, he is the guardian of his brother's four kinner. Though he loves the young ones, it proves to be a burden. He's never raised kids, so how should he know what to do?

Martha is thrilled to be home and able to attend the wedding of her best friend Joan, who happens to be Asher's cousin. And Joan lets on that her fiancé is bringing his friend Laban, the man she wants Martha to meet. The two get acquainted and seem to get along reasonably well, and they correspond when Laban returns home. Their letter-writing has him telling about how beautiful his hometown is and suggesting Martha visit to see if she would like it. The visit ends earlier than planned as Martha realizes Laban is not the man she wants to marry.

Before the wedding, Joan had cared for Asher's' charges along with Oma, their grandmother. Still, with Joan getting married and moving away, he needs permanent help. Then, the children's part-time caregiver is sidetracked and laid up after an accident; now, they really need help. So when Martha comes to the rescue, he knows that despite their animosity, he desperately needs her. And the best part for the family is that Martha can move into the house with them and be there whenever needed.

It is an excellent match because Martha is great with children and loves these four unconditionally. Still, there is tension between Asher, his parents, and Martha. They all blame her for Asher's brother, Ephron, leaving home several years before. Little did they know it was all Ephron's doing and not Martha's. She couldn't be happier living among her kin and Amish community, but how can Asher and his parents understand this?

Though Martha once believed she and Ephron would be a couple, his deflecting from his family and faith ended that, along with Martha's loving feelings toward him. Will Asher trust her and realize she was not the reason for Ephron's leaving? Will she ever find a man who loves her and have a family of her own?

When Asher's family learns the truth about Ephron, Martha is welcomed with open arms. They all see how much Martha loves the children and how well she cares for them and Oma. Will Asher find his teenage crush for Martha blossom again, and will she learn to care for him despite their four-year age difference? Why should age matter when two people are drawn to each other with similar needs, traits, and values?

It has been 12 years since Martha was teaching Asher Lantz. Asher had a teacher's crush on Martha. Even though she was 4 years older than him, he saw how well she was with the other students. Always encouraging and helping students overcome fears. When Asher older brother Ephron and Martha jumped the fence, he blamed Martha for his brother turning English. For years Asher kept his distance from Martha. However, when Asher's family is struck by tragedy with the death of his brother and his wife, Asher steps up to be a father to their children. Lottie who is 5 and Zeke, Zeb, and Zack who are 3. With the help of his grandmother, they are a comfort to the children. However, when Asher loses his nanny for 6 weeks, Martha sees an opportunity to help with a need and make amends to Asher. She is also feeling self-pity with her own family dynamics as her father has remarried and her two younger sisters are starting families of their own.

With any story there is always a back story. What led to decisions. Martha knew that Asher did not not know the whole story of his older brother. With grace and a sincerity, she slowly makes her way into his Asher's heart and misconceived notions. She also has misconceived notions as well. Wanting to get married for the practicality of having a family and without love. Before agreeing to nanny the children, she has set up a relationship with a possible suitor from out of town. What she learns, that Asher has love to offer such as the love he offered to his niece and nephews. I really liked how she build her relationship with Asher's family and how she grew in self-awareness. She had misconceived ideals about Asher. His age and being his school teacher kept her back from seeing him as a man. Asher was blinded by Martha's practicality. Her practicality kept her feelings from being seen and heard.

Things are never what them seem until you really listen and became aware of others. I thought this romance really brought that out. It was a sweet read.

Her Amish Patchwork Family
by Winnie Griggs
What a wonderful Amish fiction book. I instantly fell in love with the characters and the setting. I do not believe I have read this author before, but I will again soon! Griggs has written a sweet, compelling tale of Amish life that was both unexpected and delightful to read.
I do believe that this may be part of a series because of backstory that seemed to be missing in places with her father and her best friend; however, the book is easily rad as a stand alone.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher and Netgalley.

This was such a great story. Martha had given up the thought of ever finding a husband. It definitely would not be Asher. He just needed help. I loved this story. I was provided a copy by Netgalley but the opinions are mine.

I enjoyed this book so much! With themes of faith, forgiveness, family, and love, this wholesome story of the Amish of Hope's Haven was everything you would except from a tale about the "Plain People". Reminiscent of the books from Beverly Lewis, the depiction of Amish traditions, language, and values were accurate and respectful, and paints a picture of a beautifully simple life.

Fans of Wanda E. Brunstetter and Beth Wiseman should thoroughly enjoy "Her Amish Patchwork Family", and I'm hoping that a sequel is in the works!

I want to give a huge thanks to @Netgalley and Forever (Grand Central Publishing) for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review before its April 25, 2023.

Two people feeling lost in the world, try to find their place.

Martha Eicher has always taken care of her father and sisters, but now they are all married and do not need her assistance. What is she going to do with her life is her primary concern.

She learns that Asher Lantz, who is caring for his three orphaned niece and nephews needs a nanny. She and Asher had been childhood friends, but parted ways after a misunderstanding. Neither is sure how this situation will work out. Will Martha be the right person for the job?

This is a sweet Amish romance that you will want to add to your collection. I enjoyed it very much and could not put it down until I had finished the book.

Thanks to Forever (Grand Central Publishing) and NetGalley for the chance to read and review this book.

Martha, as a retired teacher at a young age of 24, always thought of others and putting their needs first. She returns home to find it a bit awkward now that her father has remarried and she is no longer the lady of the house. When a mishap occurs with a neighbors nanny she offers her services until a replacement can be found. Asher, a previous student of Martha's now has his niece and ornary twin boys in his custodial care. He had a crush on his teacher who was 4 years older until she lured his brother away to the English life, so he thought. Both Asher and Martha feel something but that something needs to be ignored. Will Martha take up the offer of marrage that is made or stay forever as unmarried maidel. Thank you Netgallery and publisher for this advanced copy. My review is strictly my personal opinion.

Loved this sweet romance.
It proves time and again that God is working in our lives even when we don't realize it.
I was pleased with the ending. It made my heart full and satisfied.
It also proves that the truth will eventually come out whether we want them to or not. Laying blame on the wrong person didn't sit well with me. I don't like when people just assume things without asking.
I was glad when truth finally came out.
Being painfully shy is awful. I could relate to one character in the book on this one. It took McDonald's to bring the shyness out of me. This little girl was fun in getting to know.
The 3 little boys were the ones who made me smile the most and sometimes I even laughed out loud at their antics.
So, in my opinion it was the children who stole the story and made it interesting.
5 stars for a well written book and rounded out characters. The kids made my day.
My thanks for a copy of this book. I was NOT required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are my own.

Martha and Asher have been at odds over a misunderstanding that happened many years ago. Little do they know, they have a great deal in common. Both have faced hardships and always put their families before their own desires. When Martha volunteers to temporarily help with the care of Asher’s nephews and niece, they might get the opportunity to finally fulfill their own dreams if only they can fine the courage to be vulnerable. Great story. I recommend you give this one a try!
