A wonderful way to celebrate 30 years of writing. It was interesting to read each novella and see how many things have changed over time but know that God never changes. Each story reflects situations in which many readers can relate with. Having visited my Kansas grandparents during the summers, I could envision many of the places mentioned. Although some aspects of the stories were predictable readers they are quite enjoyable.

Four novellas of finding love in the different seasons of life. Each story is a stand-alone and a quick read. A single mother, trying to help her son, with his pinewood derby car. A college student, trying to graduate. A widow, trying to take care of her mom and three aunts. A lonely wife, struggling with her husband's long work hours, and a marriage that is crumbling.

This has four novella's each story is about a season of the year. The first one is Spring Stormy Weather this is a story about Gina Bowden who is a widow raising her son alone. When her son has to build a car for Scouts she calls the scout leader for help. A beautiful story of finding love again. The second one is Summer King of Hearts. This is the story of Elise Jost who goes to college but must work to be able to do this. When she finds she is one credit short of graduating she must take a course but struggles with her job hours and the course time. She fights because she does not want to partake in Renaissance show. She tries to get out of it but her instructor Ian Hunter tells her that is part of the class. When she falls and loses her job Ian helps her. Will Elise except his help? The third is Autumn Falling for Love. Karen Armstrong Jacobs is a widow. Her mother lives with her. When her Aunts want to move in with her she opens her home up but must make repairs to the home to make it safe for them. She hires a Dan Polk and his sons for the job. Dan is a widower and they enjoy each others company. Can they find love again. The fourth is Winter Silent Nights. Lynn Murphy had dreams of a perfect marriage and raising children. She will not have children because she knows how she felt growing up with her parents traveling all the time and her being alone. She becomes tired with her husband because he travels and she is alone a lot. She moves in with her Grandfather when her husband is away on a trip. When he returns he finds she has moved out. He works all the time because he as a child was poor and never had enough food and did not want that for his family. Can they work things out and have a happy family or will there marriage end?

Four different stories about love and life. I could relate to the one about the Cub Scouts, since my son was a scout. Oddly enough, I read about the coming storm while waiting for hurricane Nicole to hit. I didn't really care for "Falling For Love". The whole thing just seemed to me to be put together in a hurry. The dialogue was immature and the action predictable. "Silent Nights" teaches a very good lesson. We should never assume someone we love understands us without all the information they need. Talking is what it's all about.

There are 4 short stories that are so satisfying. Each one had a HEA ending. This novel was just right for those that have a hectic life but want to start and finish a story is a sitting. You will not be disappointed with this book!!

Not quite what I was expecting but overall still a good selection of shorter stories. Due to the short length it felt as if the story was over as quickly as it started and it had to move to quickly to fit the story in.

Tracie Peterson is a favorite author of mine. She writes such lovely historical fiction, and when I spotted this book, I knew I wanted to read it. Love Through the Seasons is a lovely set of stories. They are all unrelated, but they show four separate stories of finding love in different seasons of life, be it from loss of a spouse early in life to needing to communicate and reconnect with a spouse after several years of marriage. I found this to be a wonderful collection. The characters were real and struggled with issues that face many of us. Through each situation, God brought these couples together while they both drew closer to God. If you are looking for an uplifting and encouraging set of stories, then this one is for you! Grab a cozy spot to curl up and get lost in a story for a while, because this one will not disappoint.

I requested a copy of this book for review. The words and opinions expressed here are wholly my own.

LOVE THROUGH THE SEASONS by TRACIE PETERSON contains four novellas that take place in Kansas during spring, summer, autumn and winter, and in each of which the weather plays an important role. Family dynamics, love, marriage and the importance of forgiveness all play a part in the stories which are backed up by a good Christian message.
I found the book enjoyable and feel it would make a great holiday read.
I was given a free copy of the book by NetGalley from Barbour Publishing. The opinions in this review are completely my own.

4 stars

They are quite cute stories. I enjoyed all but 3. Three had a bit too much God and a big sermon in the middle of it.

Lots of heros and heroines seem to have lost their spouses through Road Traffic Accidents caused by drunken drivers, did this touch a nerve with the author? I missed that this was a christian author and some are more fundamental in their stance and more traditional in roles for husbands and wives.

I probably won't seek this author out again but she writes well.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This collection of four novellas by Tracie Peterson is a departure from her normal historical romances, but all four stories were a breath of fresh air in the way the characters tackled the ups and downs of navigating their way to love. I've read a number of Tracie's historical novels and have found them entertaining and intriguing. This collection is no different in that aspect.

In all four plots, the characters are real and believable, not forced, and not hurried. Some of them are stories of younger adults finding their way to love, some are more mature and finding their way to love a second time around after rather unfortunate circumstances, and one in particular is about re-finding and redefining love that has somehow gotten lost in the shuffle of work life.

The way Tracie handled these problems in her stories make them all the more enjoyable. I found it hard to put the book down. Five Stars, Two Thumbs Up, and a season in Kansas for love.

Barbour Publishing provided the copy I read for this review. All opinions expressed are solely my own.

Love Through The Seasons is a collection of previously published novellas from the same author, collated into one edition.

Four short contemporary romances from bestselling author Tracie Peterson take readers to the author’s native state of Kansas. A single mother is braced for spring tornadoes and Stormy Weather when she encounters her son’s scout troop leader. A student finds her King of Hearts while participating in a summer Renaissance festival, but she may lack queenly confidence. Autumn isn’t just about the changing of the trees for a widow living with her mother and aunts on the family farm, it’s all about Falling for Love. A wife faces Silent Nights during winter as her marriage begins to crumble at Christmastime.

I had never read them before and found them to be heartwarming and sweet, with family and friends the central focus. I would buy this in paperback as a nice addition to my shelves.

Thank you to @netgalley for a copy of this book in return for my honest review.
