This is my first Graphic Novel in this genre and I don't know why it took me this long to get here. I am a BIG fan of horror stories. I like to be creeped out, a little disturbed and definitely scared. The graphics are AMAZING, the story was fantastic. I will definitely be reading more graphic novels. Kudos to everyone involved!

After Yume takes her own life, she finds herself mysteriously resurrected and sets out to find answers while trying to piece together the shattered memories of her past.

Zombie Makeout Club, Vol.1 by Peter Richardson presents a fun zombie splatterfest with bucketloads of body horror and chainsaw action. It’s punk and stylish (which is to be expected from the creator of an alt clothing brand) and hits the spot if you’re looking for something dark with a bit edge.

Out of all the characters so far, Crow by far has got most interesting to me. He’s a mercenary and an ex-cop with emotional package who can control Frankensteinian crows, and I look forward to learning more about his backstory and motivations.

Overall, I’ve got to say, this comic is a wild trip. The plot itself is a bit confusing and disorienting at the moment, but I’m presuming that is meant to mirror Yume's own confusion due to her amnesia and that reader’s will gradually piece the story alongside her as it progresses.

Whether there's more substance to the plot? Time will tell.

Gory, weird, cool, badass, entertaining, strange, fun and so good! This comic was everything I wanted to read. I loved it so much. I need a physical copy asap! Like even the title has me, like Zombie Makeout Club? Yes, I will instantly read anything with a title like that and this comic did NOT disappoint. I am eagerly awaiting the next volume!

This was unfortunately a DNF for me. The art style was really cool but it was a bit too dark / gory for me at the moment. I was intrigued by the storyline and I would definitely pick this back up in the future when I'm more in the mood for something with these kind of vibes but it didn't hit right for me at the current time.

Unfortunately, though the plot itself is rather compelling, the story feels very rushed here. I know that many graphic novels are art-focused, I think this could have used a touch more time world-building and story-telling to match the intricacy and beauty of the art. I am still planning on picking up the following volumes as I think this will turn into a brilliant series!

I enjoyed this. It's dark, gory, and weird which is a combination that I generally like. I really liked that character bios were included, that helps me follow and get to know them easier.

Unfortunately this wasn't for me. I couldn't keep up with what was going on with the plot. I liked the artstyle but that was it.

dnfd this 30% through, i really did not like the art style but it can also be that i was in a reading slump while trying this out. i will try it maybe another time or somethin else by the author, i am going to give it 2 stars cause i liked the plot but i honestly just lost interest in it for no reason

First and foremost, I'd like to express my gratitude to Netgalley and Diamond Book Distributors for providing me with an e-ARC of this manga.

Summary : Following his suicide, a disobedient high school student is revived in a weird underground facility. She now has to piece together not only how and why she was revived, but also how to deal with the nightmares from the lab that sought to resurrect her and the fractured memories of her past.
I want to start by praising the manga's horrific artwork. They did an excellent job of reflecting the manga theme. Proceeding on to the manga plot, I was completely lost throughout the entire story. Due to how hurried it seemed, I was unable to understand anything.

I really did not vibe with this book, although i liked the ilustration, the plot seemed bland, excesively gore and overall with no purpose. maybe it's just not for me but i was really disappointed :(

Wasn't what I was expecting, though to be honest I'm not sure what I was expecting I. The first place but I did end up enjoying this read. Not necessarily my style, but I will definitely see myself recommending to customers at work!

Though highly stylistic art allows for great appeal, the plot feels thin to non-existent. I found it incredibly hard to follow what was happening and why it was happening. I couldn't remember who was who, action sequences felt very random, and it was hard to fully grasp why characters were dying and coming back. The art style follows the trendy anime style of fashion brands that give it an artistic appeal. It had a lot of style, but left substance to be desired.

It was a nice fast read and used the comic format well to tell the story. It is very gory and dark, so I would definitely advise being aware of the content before reading. More specifically there is a big theme of suicide, and it ties into the plot. I don’t feel it glorified suicide, but it was definitely presented in a unique way. As for the gore, it gave me the vibe of Repo: The Genetic Opera, so if you are a fan of that movie, you would probably enjoy this book.
One thing however was that it was a bit hard to follow the plot at first, and I found myself relying on the character bios at the beginning to help me. Speaking of the bios, I really enjoyed them and thought it was cool that it listed each character’s pronouns!
I also liked the bonus content at the end; there were author’s notes, the zine that preceded the comic, as well as bonus cover art. It really gave the vibe of a traditional manga!
All in all, I would be interested in reading the next volume; I’m intrigued and would like to know what happens next.

Okay, massively excited with this read. It was a short read but completely stunning. The art is fantastically gory and I was happy to see that the author has a clothing line of the same name, Zombie Makeout Club, along with a Webtoon that features extra scenes!

My only gripe with this, is that I have to wait to read the next one. I’m looking forward to seeing what else comes out in terms of character development and creativity from this artist. I received a copy to review from Net Galley. Worth it.

A great start to a thrilling comic book series. Zombie Makeout Club offers a great premise for the horror comic genre and would love to see where the series will end up going.

The reason why I dropped this is because I found the story was hard to follow and a bit confusing. If you don't read the description you have no idea what is going on

The only positive I can say is the art was well done it was cool.

I personally wouldn't recommend it unless you just want to check out the art.

Loved the art work but I'm not sure where they were going with the story. The story was hard to follow and a bit confusing.

Started reading and found the art style very gruesome, and I had trouble following the story. While I am grateful for getting this ARC unfortunately this is not my style of graphic novel. It definitely leans way too much into the horror genre for my personal taste.
