As a huge fan of Trese and having watched the Netflix animation adaptation, I was excited to get into the 5th book in the series and it was everything I had hoped it was.

Trese is now on a new case and the future of the magical world she protects is intertwining with the world of the mundane.

Going from one part of Milan to the next, she enlists the help of her bodyguards, the Tikbalang Prince and anyone ready to fight off the evil brewing closer to Milan.

This volume was really interesting and the Suspense keeps you going. Like every other volume, Trese works to solve the cases using her skills as the lakan between the spirit world and the living. I really enjoyed this volume.

This is too good and I can't believe I've read (and loved) the earlier books in this series - when they came out over 10 years ago! - and have not read this until today.

I really love all of the elements in this universe's worldbuilding as it's Pinoy through and through, and not just a callback or reference stapled there just because.

The action in this one is great too, i lost myself in it's quick but unhurried pacing, the seamless flow of dialogue and narration, and the paneling is perfect! This installment is more focused on plot rather than character (I wish there was more of Trese's inner story) but that's what the other books are there for.

Highly recommended and I will now try to find the rest so I can find out how it all gets resolved!

Perfect for fans of the comic or Netflix series. The Manila-set Trese series follows Alexandra Trese, sort of a social worker and cop navigating the inhuman world as it interacts with the human one. In Midnight Tribunal, Alexandra has some competition as not one but two different superheros come out of the shadows. Neither exactly has the best interests of the city at heart, however. The endemic corruption in the Manila government comes in for the spotlight, and Alexandra has to navigate the thin line between vengeance and justice. Midnight Tribunal picks up right where the Netlflix series ended, which is great for new fans getting into the comics series.

I was so looking forward to this edition of Trese. The gang is all back with a new plot and new characters, some good and some evil. The art is Amazing as ever as well as the storyline, can't wait for the next installment.
