Oooooof this was a fun, steamy pallet cleanser. This felt very well done, and like the author cared about the characters for more than just their chemistry.

I really enjoy this one a lot! I really liked the storyline and the characters and their chemistry were fantastic. There is definitely the trope of lying by omission, but this one made sense and I liked the resolution and the reactions to the situations. I thought it was well done. VERY ADULT in a sexual nature, so be prepared for that. I will absolutely pick up more from this author!

WOWZA. This book was FILTHY in the best way. The little snippets at the start of every chapter from their time before is just, haha wow.

Is the plot a little obvious and you can kind of easily guess what's going to happen? Sure. But who cares. This book is just fun and dirty and sweet and DIRTY. I loved it. And I'm going to read everything Ferguson puts out because of this.

Cassie reads like Anna Kendrick, she's clutzy and silly and just awkward, but it's in a cute endearing way. Aiden looks like Adam Driver.

The male narrator on the audiobook needs fired and to never read another romance audiobook ever again. His voice is...not appealing at all. Our female narrator reads the male lines in a sexier voice than his natural voice is.

I struggled getting into this one because the FMC, Cassie, bothered me in a few ways. Her inner monologue alone felt kind of annoying and she seemed incredibly interested in sleeping with her boss right away. I understood the premise of the book before going into it but it felt strange that from the get-go she was primarily driven by her attraction to the boss whose child she’s taking care of.

Aiden felt really underwhelming. I didn’t understand his appeal other than being hot? I guess? Sure he had a mouth on him but it seemed to only shine during the spicier scenes and not so much during their conversations.

Overall, it was difficult to buy into the relationship because it seemed primarily driven by their physical relationship. Even as we got toward the end of the book and they’d been “together” for a while, I wasn’t really convince about the emotional development of the relationship. If you’re looking for a book with lots of open door scenes but questionable romance this one is for you!

I think this will work for a lot of people. But there was just...something about it that gave me the ick and I couldn't get past it.

I wanted to like this one more. The relationship relied on physical attraction as its ace card and I just wanted more emotional connection.

It’s probably unfair that I read a Chloe Liese book right before this one too.

Also many conversations were repetitive or info shared multiple times in different ways. It felt like wasted pages

ETA: After thinking about it, it also doesn’t sit well the power dynamics weren’t handled. Sleeping with someone who pays you when you also live with them rent free is definitely not a relationship of equal standing. Yikes

I’m not sure how I feel about this one still. I liked it while I was reading it but I found it very forgettable. I did really like the characters and the story line.

Thank you to Netgalley, Berkeley Publishing, and Lana Ferguson for an advance copy of The Nanny in exchange for an honest review. This was a fresh spin on the romance genre with me due to the OnlyFans aspect of it. I found this so on brand for the times we live in and it was so fun to watch Cassie and Aiden find out that they actually knew each other in another aspect of their lives. Aiden and Cassie had such chemistry and the spicy scenes were just that, super spicy!! I also loved the aspect of Aiden being a single father and how we got to see Cassie and Sophie forge such a special relationship and how Cassie tried to include Sophies aunt in the family too. This one is out now and would make a great fit for any spicy romance lover!

I'm sorry it took me so long to read this book. Its so spicy! I know, I know, it's right there in the book's description, but wow. Sex positive without being preachy, a non-deadbeat dad, and great best friend character. There is a lot to like about this book. I'm looking forward to the author's next.

This book was just not for me, but there was a lot of good about it. First off, I really enjoyed the plot line and the characters. The whole nanny and dad who is (unknowingly her biggest online fan) was SO fun and I loved watching that play out. However, the whole thing felt pretty insta-lovey to me (which is just not my jam) and the story started to feel SO repetitive. So while this book wasn’t for me, I’ll definitely be giving more of Lana’s books a try!

After I finished The Fake Mate I was SO READY to read this. I thought it was going to be just as funny and maybe even be set in the same world! (I mean can you imagine finding a Shifter section on the Only F@n website? lmao That would be crazy. Anyway, although I thought this was ok, it wasn’t exactly what I was looking for at the time.

Ok so I really disliked the whole single dad thing in this. I get that he had a demanding job, but to be at the restaurant more than he was with his daughter who had lost her mother? As a mom I just hurt for her. I really thought she deserved better. And for Cassie, at the end when she just up and left?! I wanted to cuss her out. I did just that when I got to that part too. How dare you make yourself part of this girl’s life, just to snatch yourself out again when you and her dad got mad at each other. That girl is going to have issues and you are not helping at all. But also, Idk if this is a me thing because I might not be a fan of this trope (I’ve read it before?) or if it was just that bad.

The romance was ok. I think I loved it more than normal because of the social media aspect. I’m a SUCKER for social media in books. Don’t ask me why, I have no idea why lol But this one was no exception. I do wish I liked the way it was revealed tho. Like there was no conflict in it. I think he should have been a lot more mad than he was. But I also don’t think she should have been so scared. Like girl, just because he found out doesn’t mean you have to flee. She made that decision for him and that’s not fair.

I also felt like it was a bit long. The whole aunt thing was a mess and seemed so unnecessary. Like he has a demanding job. Ok so what. But the kid was 9. She could say where she wanted to be. Why tf would you think she’d want to leave the only parent she has left? He’s not mistreating her or anything. It was just weird to me. And the way she was so determined to take her away just because she wanted a piece of her sister was crazy. I know she was grieving, but like to take someone’s kid?! And like by the way you’re threatening them, what the hell would make you think I would let you anywhere near my kid? You’re lucky I’m letting you around us. But I digress lol

This book was not what I was expecting, but it wasn’t terrible. I’m glad I read The Fake Mate first tho. I don’t think I would have tried it had I read this one first. But I can honestly say I can tell the difference between her debut and her sophomore novel. (Also, kudos to you Lana on the Omegaverse sophomore! I had to research the Omegaverse before I read it, so I can only imagine writing it lmao)

This was a solid read! A little cheesy and you know exactly where the story is going, but you're still along for the ride.

I love the fact that this has the whole OnlyFans side story. This book was steamy and gave me Julie Murphy vibes.

***4.5 Stars***

A fun time was had in this single dad romance, I don't remember laughing out loud so hard reading a Contemporary Romance! Our female lead Cassie Evans has fallen on some tough times and in the past she had her Only Fans account to rely on but for REASONS, she can't go back to that. Instead she applies for a live- in nanny position not really thinking she'd actually land the job. Single dad/Chef Aiden Reid reaches out to Cassie, she turns out to be the most qualified for the job and he insists she take the job. Cassie is excited and accepts on the spot but also can't help but notice that her soon to be employer is SUPER hot! We live in Cassie's head as she tries to reign in her attraction to Aiden. What I loved about Cassie? She's genuinely great with kids! Aiden's daughter Sophie wasn't easily sold on the idea of a live-in nanny and it took some persistence and trust building efforts on Cassie's behalf. Once the hit it off and Sophie stole Cassie's heart, it becomes clear to Cassie how much Aiden's presence at home is felt. She acknowledges how hard it must be to be a single dad to a young girl while also having a full blown career as a Chef but she also doesn't let him off the hook. We see Cassie win over Sophie and also take on the challenge of Sophie's aunt who doesn't believe Aiden has the time in his busy schedule to truly be there for Sophie.

Audiobook Rating: 5 Stars (Samantha Summers narrated and made this one a fun time to listen to, HIGHLY recommend the audiobook)

The interactions between Cassie and the side characters were quality enjoyable scenes. The interactions between Cassie and Aiden (when they do interact) were also top tier steamy and hot. Especially when Cassie realizes Aiden is not the stranger she thought he was, he's actually a client from her Only Fans account! and instead of disclosing this bit of admittedly awkward information, she decides to keep it to herself. Readers, the ANGST! it is delivered in hefty servings I thoroughly enjoyed. My only "want" was more time to build up the connection between Cassie and Aiden in person. We do see their history through chats in their Only Fans interactions but I just wanted more page time with them instead of feeling the weight of Aiden's schedule myself. I still had a good time, Cassie has such a fun personality that makes her easy to love. There's also Wanda, her older ex-roomate who still checks in on Cassie to make sure she hasn't been kidnapped and thrown in a basement by her new employer. Wanda is a good time! Seriously, her dating life is thriving and I would read her story ARC any time! The Nanny has a cast full of characters you won't forget ;)

This book was so cute and the spice was absolutely immaculate!!! I loved it so much and now every time I get a snapple I will think of this book! <3

Sort of a ridiculous premise but the more you read the more you just fall right into it. It’s a truly steamy read with undeniably lovable characters you can’t help but root for.

Wow, this book was super steamy. It was such a fast read, though, focusing on a romance between the nanny and her employer. However, they knew each other previously from a different setting.

If you're looking for something light and steamy, this would be a good one for you.

Wow the steaminess that came off these pages I couldn’t get enough I was blushing and I loved all the characters I need more!! Plus my name is Cassie 😏

When Cassie loses her job in the children hospital, her plans to keep a roof above her head and pay tuition seem like it’s out of reach! She’s debating on starting Her long-untouched OnlyFans account. But there are no jobs to be found, and as for OnlyFans she previously fell for one of her clients but they never showed their faces. When all hope seems lost, an ad for a live-in nanny position seems like the answer to all her problems that is until until she meets her would-be employer.
Aiden Reid, executive chef and single father and he’s hot. Cassie is shocked when she is told she’s the most qualified and he hires her and she immediately falls for his daughter Sophie! Also it’s a live in position…
Cassie soon discovers that Aiden is not a stranger at all, but instead someone who is very familiar with her—or at least, her body. She finds herself at a loss for what to do, given that he doesn’t remember her and she needs the job.
As their relationship heats to temperatures hotter than any kitchen Aiden has ever worked in, Cassie struggles with telling Aiden the truth, and the more terrifying possibility—losing the best chance at happiness she’s ever had. I couldn’t get enough of this book and omg my face was red from reading the steamy parts!

I really enjoyed this single dad/nanny story! Cassie is an occupational therapist who moonlighted with an OnlyFans account to pay her school bills, an account that's been dormant for two years. When she's desperate and thinking she might have to re-open that account, she finds a position as a live-in nanny for a single dad, Aiden Reid, an executive chef who has a 9 year old daughter Sophie.

Each chapter starts with a text message between Cassie's OnlyFans account and an account @alacarte. The reader knows that @alacarte is Aiden and that it's only going to be a matter of time before Cassie and Aiden figure out who each other is, especially as they had been developing a relationship of sorts without having met in person. How the story develops, including the relationship between Cassie and Aiden (as well as Cassie and Sophie developing such a great friendship) is delightful, with plenty of laughs. I'm definitely going to read more from this author.

Don’t let the illustrated cover fool you, folks. “The Nanny” by Lana Ferguson appears to be a sweet-as-pie story about the nanny falling in love with her single dad employer, and ok, that is true. However, this wasn’t the hallmark-esq story that I thought I was reading – Ferguson turns up the heat quickly. Shame on me for glossing over the “OnlyFans” mention in the blurb, because had I known what was waiting for me I might have cracked that spine sooner. (Just Kidding, I didn’t crack the spine, but I did open it swiftly on my kindle!)

Jokes aside, “The Nanny” balances the sweet and steamy exceptionally well. Cassie takes her job as Sophie’s nanny very seriously, and does everything she can to make sure that Sophie and Aiden have a wonderful relationship. It’s clear through the story that Cassie cares deeply about her charge, her employer, and really everyone she meets. Even people who seemingly don’t deserve her empathy.

“Don’t shoot yourself in the foot, honey. You can have good things, but you have to let yourself have them.”
When reading “The Nanny” you can expect a unique second chance romance that is sure to surprise you! You can also expect to shake your head at our main characters and yell at them to get out of their own way. (I personally phrased it as “stop being idiots, you guys!”)

I was so pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed “The Nanny” and I look forward to reading whatever comes next from Lana Ferguson. I already have her next book “The Fake Mate” (publishing in December 2023) on my TBR.
