This book was so good! I was hooked. Lana brilliantly pushes boundaries in a fun and easy way. I loved Aiden so much - he was a such a fab MMC! And Casie was just was so great. I loved the dynamics and the bits of convo from OnlyFans! So good! Def going to read every book she’ll write.

I love that flowers are blooming and I love that new authors are writing fun books like The Nanny by Lana Ferguson. I am actually surprised all the steam coming from this book didn’t wilt the flowers. Such fun, those steamy scenes. Actually, the whole book has left a smile on my face.

The chemistry, banter and all the interactions between the nanny, Cassie, and the single father, Aiden, just made me happy. I definitely needed happy this week while I’ve been sick, but this is the Happy we all need all the time. You will see lots of mention of the steam in this book, with Only Fans a part of the premise I am sure it is expected. What you need to hear is that there is such a heartwarming story of found family, friendships, and at the center a precocious little girl that needs security and love.

The side characters are amazing and I need a book simply about Wanda and her escapades. Wanda is Cassie’s best friend who just happens to be in her 70’s with a penchant for bringing men home from bingo.

What a fun book to buddy read and discuss, so a big thanks to @BerkleyPub and @BerkleyRomance for my advanced ecopy and @dg_reads and @berittalksbooks for arranging it all.

This was so well written. I was engrossed from the first page and it ticked all the boxes of my expectations. The character development was excellent. I would definitely recommend to others, a must read!

this was okay, i didn’t really feel the chemistry between the two main characters and they had nothing interesting about their dynamic. this was also a lot longer than need be

✔️ Forced Proximity
✔️ He's Her Boss
✔️ And They're Roommates
✔️ Secret Identity
✔️ Single Dad

I always adore the secret identity "You've Got Mail" type setup in a read and this was no exception. It's so fun to know who is who and then gleefully watch each character figure it out (I still watch that supercut of Friends where the gang each find out about Chandler and Monica).

I also appreciated the sex-positivity of this one as there aren't a lot of sex work in romances.

Aiden was my favorite character. A hot chef single dad who prioritizes his kid?! And has a filthy mouth? Delightful 🤣

The dialogue had funny moments, particularly between Cassie and her neighbor, Wanda. If you love zingy banter and steamy scenes like in a Lucy Score or Helena Hunting, this will be up your alley.

Steam 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Banter 🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️
Swoon 💕💕💕

This was such a fun read! It was steamy, and the connections between the characters felt genuine, especially between Cassie and Sophie. Below is the link to the FBC podcast with Lana Ferguson.

The phrase rom-com gets bandied about far too often, in my opinion, when talking about the romance genre, but this one felt like it distinctly fit that phrase. Often laugh out loud funny, but also filled with romance and Cassie's big heart for Aiden and Sophie. The steam kicks in later than I'd expected based on what I'd heard about this book, but once it starts it is VERY steamy, and readers who don't like open door romance should steer clear.

The Nanny

Thiis was an awesome read from start to finish. Everyone mentioned the steam but you’ll have to be patient because it doesn’t really start until 40% in the book.

Cassie is a graduate student triyng to make ends meet after losing her job at the Children’s hospita, when she studmbes upon a nanny position. The pay and hours are perfect for her needs. The problem is she’s attracted to her employer and it’s possible they have a previous connection from her Only Fans days.

Aiden is a single father who happens to be an executive chef. He’s been tring to reconnect with his nine year old daughter since her mother passed away but has found it difficult with his work schedule. Cassie was the most qualified candidate he got for the nanny position he’s tring to fill but the problem is he’s finding it hard to keep things professional with his growing attraction.

My thoughts:

I loved Cassie’s character. She had such a great way with her charge, Sophi.I thought about using some of her lines on my students! She was so positive during all of the ups and downs that came with the position. She truly had a connection with both Sophie and her father, Aiden.

Sophie was such an adorable and precocious nine year- old. But my favorite was Wanda, she was a sassy mature woman who picked up men at bingo games. She could have her own story.

It’s interesting to read about a character who would start an Only Fans account and then go on to have a relationship with one of her customers. I had never heard of it until another book, A Merry Little Meet Cute that also used it as part of the plot. It gives me pause.

Sort of second-chance/one that got away? Cassie does a short stint as a cam girl on OnlyFans (talk about being very specifically contemporary!) and "meets" this guy she kinda falls for.... and it turns out he's now her boss. Her very, very hawt boss.... who's a dad of a 9 year old who just lost her mom. Very high steam factor (including scenes of Cassie doing cam work), but the connection between Adrien and Cassie never felt real, just a lot of steam. Also, Cassie's insecure attachment due to shitty parents was never dealt with, nor was little Sophie's grief-- in fact, there's no evidence at all that Sophie is grieving, which she totally should have, since she's *nine*.

Twenty five year old Cassie Evans is in need of a change. On the verge of eviction, she’s looking for steady income to keep her afloat as she goes back to school. For awhile, Cassie had a gig that more than paid the bills, involving her body and OnlyFans. You might think she doesn’t want to go back because of the given source of income, but in reality her reluctance stems from making what she thought was a connection with a “fan” who ultimately broke her heart.

Then Cassie stumbles upon a opportunity that seems too good to be true- a job as a live in nanny. As if the proposition wasn’t perfect enough, then she meets her would be employer- hot chef, Aiden Reid. Aiden instantly takes a liking to Cassie, offering her the nanny position on the spot.

Almost immediately after moving in Cassie is taken by not only Aiden, but his spunky, nine year old daughter, Sophie, as well. Cassie and Aiden have an undeniable chemistry that quickly crosses the line, thus leading Cassie to a discovery that changes everything. Now she has a decision to make. Should she come clean and tell Aiden the truth, even if it risks her chance at finding her forever?

The Nanny was like reading two books at once. On one hand you have a sweet rom com, complete with the precocious Sophie and Cassie’s unexpected best friend, the elderly, Wanda. In fact, it’s my belief Wanda and Sophie were the best parts of this novel. But the other part of this book was steamy with a capital S. I have nothing against steam, but the more I read open door romances, the more I find myself rolling my eyes. In this story the steam felt a bit misplaced and happened rather quickly (and frequently) despite the lack of true connection between our main characters. When a fallout occurs that’s indirectly related to their hormones, I couldn’t help but judge them for their bad decision making. Call me crotchety, but I wanted more out of their connection.

Fans of single dad romances might swoon over this story, but for me The Nanny is to the book I’d want tucking me in at night.

This book is smutty and I love that, but it is such a boring plot, there is not a ton of chemistry between the main characters and it’s just overall very slow. I hated that there really wasn’t any tension or build up to them “doing it” but I did enjoy the secondary characters. The daughter is the best part of this book, but otherwise it is not that great and kind of stale.

Going into this book I thought it was just going to be a cute romcom because the cover really didn't give anything away! This book is fun, spicy and overall entertaining. Definitely give this book a chance if you are looking for a cute quick read!

Cassie is a struggling student who needs a job and she ends up being a nanny for Aiden and his daughter. Cassie and Aiden are attracted to each other but soon she realizes that Aiden is one of her only-fans subscriber 😌

This book 100% does what it sets out to do- high heat romance between an ex sex working Nanny and the father of her new charge. The book sets all the expectations and follows through, it was just not for me. I was unable to figure out why they liked each other than the sex. Definitely a case of me and not the book.

I loved this book so much more than I was expecting to, and the spice level was extreme in this book.

I love good forced proximity and workplace romances. I was immediately hooked by the mistaken identity of our characters.

Cassie (former Onlyfans creator) is looking for a new job when the opportunity to become a live-in nanny becomes available. She interviews with her figure boss, who happens to be a chef.

Aiden, single dad, struggles to take care of his nine-year-old daughter Sophie and therefore looks for a nanny… who happens to be Cassie.

The only issue is both of these characters know each other without realizing it at first - Aiden was Cassie’s biggest fan.

I loved when it was revealed how these characters knew each other. Also, the father/daughter relationship was so wholesome. It was interesting reading how much Cassie helped rebuild this family.

While this is a long book, I never once felt bored with the story. The whole time I was completely invested and wanted more. I loved the steamy scenes!

I’m in absolute awe of how much I loved this book. To all my romance readers, I highly recommend picking this one up!

Thank you so much NetGalley and Berkley for the review copies in exchange for my honest review!

I don’t think I was the right reader for this book since the OnlyFans premise and then later Cassie’s job situation made me feel a bit weird since she was so beholden to Aiden financially, but I really liked all of their interactions and Sophie was absolutely adorable! The characters of this book really made the plot, even though I was very annoyed about the conflict (or imagined conflict) that could have been avoided if Aiden and Cassie had proper conversations with each other. I wouldn’t say it was one of my favourite books this year, but it definitely made me want to keep reading!

While the premise sounded promising, this book was not for me. I wasn't a fan of either of the main characters and found the hero's kid to be written too young for her age. There were definitely some scenes where I thought the chemistry was building and it helped pull me through to the end, but the main conflict was one of my least favorite tropes. I'd purchase it for my library, considering the popularity of illustrated cover romances, but it wouldn't be high on my list of recommends.

One thing about me is I'm always gonna eat up the single dad x nanny trope in a romance book, the family vibes and domesticity get me every single time. I enjoyed this book immensely! I believe the author's shining achievement is how well fleshed out each character is and how enjoyable they are to read on the page, from the protagonists to the side characters, everyone had an their own arc and a level of interiority I don't often see for side characters in a romance. This was fun, thoughtful, and Aiden was the shy yet filthy talking man of my dreams!

This book was so good! I was on a kick with reading books with the Only Fans/Cam girl plot, and this one was good! The spice was excellent and the chemistry between Cassie and Aiden was on par! I don't normally like nanny tropes, but this one was done well!
