This was really fun, I loved the characters, the plot, and the conflict throughout. I felt like Ferguson did a good job of making it all seem real, and the spice was *chef's kiss*.

The Nanny was one of my most anticipated reads this year and did not disappoint. I’m simply obsessed. It was hilarious and 🥵🥵🥵. Not only was The Nanny hot, but it had well-developed characters and a great plot. I couldn’t put it down. Overall, I had a wonderful time reading it.

Thank you Berkley Publishing Group for allowing me to read this title early as it was one of my most anticipated reads of the year and it did NOT disappoint.

The Nanny follows a desperate 25-year-old girl named Cassie in her final year of school, struggling to make ends meet after getting fired from her job. She even considers going back to her days of posting on OnlyFans for cash but for reasons unknown she feels she can't. When she eventually stumbles across an ad for a live-in nanny position, she excitedly applies but what happens when she meets her new boss and he's HOT AF but totally unattainable... or so she would think. When Cassie eventually pieces together that her hot new boss used to be one of her highest paying OF subscribers, things get more than complicated. You'll just have to read the book to find out more...

This book surpassed my expectations by a long shot, from the storytelling, the characters, the SPICE, and the fact it also kept me on my toes. I was extremely happy with the progression of this story, especially when I was convinced it was going to be one thing and the author kept surprising me. For instance, it's always so frustrating when reading a romance book and realizing exactly how the third act breakup is going to go, however when reading The Nanny, I was pleasantly surprised to find it was nothing like I thought it would be.

The romance that evolves between Cassie and Aiden was so intoxicating to read; between their IRL chemistry and all the banter and tension that comes with it coupled with the old OnlyFans chats, I was equally swooning and blushing within a matter of pages. I LOVED this book and cannot wait until the world has it to read in April.

The Nanny: ★ ★ ★ ★

Lana Ferguson

“I’m offering you my whole damned life, if you want it.”

Tropes:
- Online identities
- Single dad
- Nanny romance
- Forced proximity

Cassie's desperate for a job–so when the super hot chef hires her to be the live-in nanny for his daughter, she says yes without hesitation. Only, this isn't their first time meeting... they've met before: just with different names.

This is a debut?!?!?! This was SO good. Light, funny, fresh, and kept me engaged pretty much the whole time. Also, spicy. Deliciously spicy. I'm a fan of Lana Ferguson's writing & will definitely be picking up her next book (whenever that may be).

I liked Cassie because she was so cute, hardworking, relatable, and literally so sweet. She tried her best with Sophie, didn't let Iris' iciness bring her down, and was just a darling overall. Aiden was sweet as well–kind of a cinnamon roll single dad hero–and I loved how much he always wanted to be the best dad for Sophie. He was so dirty, though, which is always a pleasant surprise and he did it so well.

The third act conflict–read: I'm leaving because it's better this way for you–was predictable (even though I was praying it didn't happen, of course) & frankly, infuriating because Aiden is literally a grown man who can make decisions & was begging Cassie to stay, but she refused. It just irked me how she was so ready to give up her life with Sophie & Aiden especially after knowing how hard it was for Sophie to bond with people and how much she trusted Cassie? It felt wrong.

I kind of want Iris to get her book in a reverse/grumpy sunshine kind of situation? That would be so great.

I still enjoyed this book & would definitely recommend it though. Looking forward to reading more by this author!

Thank you to Net Galley for providing me with an advance readers copy.

What can I say? This book was such a fun read for me. I was looking for a unique plot with spice and this did not disappoint. There were some aspects I wasn’t big on, especially the lack of communication, but my love for the enjoyment I had reading this overshadowed the tiny things I didn’t really like.

Also I just love single dads and chefs and intergenerational friendships. Wanda was everything!!!!!

Definitely recommend if you’re look for a fun quick spicy read.

Cassie finds herself unemployed. She can either find a new job – fast, or, rekindle her OnlyFans account. Just when she’s on the verge, her friend finds a live in nanny position that Cassie is perfect for. When Cassie meets the dad, Aiden, she’s surprised to learn that she is the most qualified applicant and gets the job. It doesn’t take long for Cassie to realize that Aiden is one of her biggest OnlyFans customers. Now she has no clue what to do because she’s fallen in love with him, and his daughter. Will she figure things out before Aiden puts the pieces together?

I debated on requesting this one because I wasn’t sure I wanted to read a story about a dad falling in love with the nanny behind the moms back. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that there was no mom in this story. It wasn’t a jilted lover or cheating story at all, so I was glad I opted to read it.

This was a sweet story, and I loved the relationship dynamics of this one. It’s a little spicy, I mean it’s about an OnlyFans account so what else would you expect? I did find myself laughing at some of the sex scenes just because of the language that was used, but I think it was me.

Overall, this is a heartwarming and cute story and I hope you check it out April 11th.

Thank you to the publisher Berkley Publishing, @berkleypub, @berkleyromance, and Netgalley @netgalley for this e-ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I'm not usually a huge fan of the single parent trope, but MAN was this one well done, and the forbidden romance was SO SO delightful

Are you a huge fan of romcoms, who sometimes wants your read to be a *little* steamier but aren’t into dark romance, and still want to keep the humor of the RomCom genre?

Then The Nanny by @ is the book for you 👏 When I tell you my cheeks literally hurt from giggling or cackling as I read this book straight through in one day 🤣 In reading Lana’s book I feel like I’ve found an author whose humor matches mine so perfectly it’s like she’s inside my brain picking out exactly what I want to read. And what makes that hilarity even better is that it’s matched, laugh for laugh, with the absolutely SIZZLING chemistry and heat between these two adorable idiots. Cassie and Adrien are both just the sweetest dumbasses, and they’re so perfect for each other it hurts.

I also want to add that I love how Lana handled the power imbalance between Cassie and Aiden, seeing as he is her boss, and she loves with him - a situation that could very easily become uncomfortable or problematic. Aiden made sure Cassie new she was in control of what happened between them from the very start, and the line of consent was very clear, which just makes it even sexier 👏

Now let’s talk about the side characters! Wanda was an absolutely unexpected delight, and I fell in love with her from her first scene. She is just the perfect sidekick for Cassie, and I want to be her when I grow up. And Sophie 🥹 My sweet, precious Sophie. It’s kind of impossible *not* to fall in love with this gorgeous, strong willed child. It’s no wonder Cassie fell in love with her first, even before Aiden.

The emotional payoff at the end is so well deserved, and every line had me laughing, swooning, sweating, cringing, or crying. Lana Ferguson is the newest name to watch in Romancelandia, and I cannot WAIT to follow along as she only gets better from here.

The Nanny had an interesting enough concept but it fell completely flat for me. Everything felt incredibly surface level --- we really know nothing about any of the characters in the story, and because of that, I had no connection to any of them and didn't care about what happened to them.

Wanda was great though, I would read a book about Wanda

I had really high hopes for The Nanny, but there was just something that didn't quite work for me. I appreciated the grief storyline with Iris specifically, but felt that Iris' realization came too late in the book. Overall, I found myself getting increasingly frustrated every time the characters didn't communicate properly. I also wanted more depth from the characters. I loved Wanda — I'd read an entire spin off about her, and I found all the moments between Sophie and Cassie incredibly sweet.

Cassie becomes the nanny for Sophie, who is the daughter of Aiden, chef extraordinaire. After Cassie has the job she discovers that she actually knows Aiden, but only as A., when she worked on an online sex site. They know they are attracted to each other and then things heat up while still trying to maintain a working relationship since she is the nanny.

Great book. I enjoyed the characters and how they interacted with each other.

Thank you to #Netgalley and #Berkley publishing for the ARC

Thought this was a sweet story with just the right level of spice. Loved the chemistry between Cassie and Aiden and their history together. Great, easy read!

Fun, fun, fun. A terrific premise and charming characters. A delight to read. Will definitely be recommending to rom -com fans.

I think the underlying story of the handsome chef falling for the bright and beautiful nanny was good but there was too much graphic sex for me. I finished it because I wanted to know how it ended but skipped some of the steamier parts. For those who like rom-coms on the erotic side, this would be a great story. Just a little much for me. Thank you to Net Galley for letting me read this book in return for my honest review.

I'm not entirely sure what I was expecting here, but this was beyond it! I really loved both Cassie and Aiden. They led totally different lives, and yet their unity was beautiful when it came together.

This issue was getting them together. This was such a cluster mess there. I know that lack of communication sells novels, but damn...this was the epitome of "JUST TALK!!!" The all caps were indeed necessary.

The steam was SO GOOD. The banter was phenomenal. I adored Sophie. Cassie and Sophie together was simply the basis of what is enjoyable here.

Thank you Berkely Romance for the advanced reviewers copy of this read. I will for sure be telling everyone about it!

So I’m gonna be honest and say that I’m not sure what I expected when cracking this open, but whatever it was was very wrong😅

I loved this book. Like…cracking my booklight out at 2am because I was having such a good time.
The tender moments, the internal monologues, the banter between friends, literally so cute.

And holy spice balls was this book filled with steamy scenes. The cartoon cover did trick me, I fear. And I loved every single moment 😂

I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for more work by this author!

Lana Ferguson's debut novel The Nanny is a master of a romantic comedy. After Cassie is unexpectedly laid off from her job, the OT student is in desperate need of cash as she finishes out her program so she accepts a job as a live in nanny for a single dad and his daughter. All is going well until she realizes that her boss used to be her biggest client on OnlyFans. And because of her mask in the videos-- he has no idea. Burdened with this secret and finding herself falling for Aiden (a second time) Cassie is in a predicament. This hilarious and heartfelt novel is full of spice and laughter that will have readers begging for Ferguson's next book! Thanks so much to Berkley Romance and NetGalley for the advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. 4.5/5 rounded up

Let me just start off by thanking Berkley for sending me an ARC and allowing me to read this one early. I was so excited about it and honestly, my excitement didn’t wane for the majority of the book. With that being said, let’s get into the plot.

The Nanny is about Cassie, an unemployed former OnlyFans performer who ends up getting a job as a live-in nanny. Aside from the pay being amazing, her boss, Aiden Reid is smoking hot and a chef so the temptation is there. At first, Cassie is able to play dutiful nanny to Sophie who tolerates her at best to start.

As they live together longer, the attraction between Cassie and Aiden is undeniable yet it all comes to a head when Cassie realizes Aiden was one of her clients. He wasn’t just a client though as they had a special relationship and bond when she was performing. That throws a monkeywrench into things quickly.

Honestly, there was a lot I loved about this book. Firstly, it was incredibly sexy and steamy. The way Aiden talked to Cassie and how filthy their scenes together were, I needed a fan. This was so hot for being a traditionally published book. I also enjoyed Cassie as a character since she’s working on herself and becoming a better person while also working and juggling a friendship with Wanda, her elderly best friend.

Another aspect I loved was how close Cassie and Sophie became. Sophie wasn’t willing to budge at the beginning but the two eventually became close and it was adorable to watch it happen. I mean Aiden, Cassie, and Sophie went to Disneyland for Sophie’s birthday which was just so dang adorable.

I feel like my issues are ones that are understandable as Lana Ferguson is a debut author but I didn’t enjoy the third-act conflict in this book. It felt a bit cheesy and over-the-top or it could have been switched out for something else. The only other complaint I had was the “villain” of the story who I understood by the end but I also couldn’t sympathize with either. Maybe it was just me.

The Nanny was such a delightful debut by Lana Ferguson. I’ll definitely have her on my radar for next year and I’m excited to see what the future holds for her.
