Wow from the first 3 chapters I was hooked! So glad I was able to snag this preview. Returning to Adrian and Isolde was great!

I already read the first in the series so I was eager to read the second.
📖📖
Even though there were only 3 chapters, there was still one spicy scene and the chapters are enough to make me read the book
📖📖
With how the book ended with a cliffhanger, I was eager to continue Isolde and Adrian's journey.
📖📖
If you've read the first in the series, then get this one! The three chapters were good enough and I'm sure the rest of the book will be too
If you have never heard of this book, this is the time to read them.

This preview has made me so extremely excited for the full book! Scarlett St. Clair you've done it again!
We've picked up right where we left off getting right back into the story. A great beginning to a book we all know is going to be fantastic.

Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for this preview Arc in exchange for an honest review!!

Lots of promise and excited to get the rest of this installment! This book. I received an audiobook arc, and I mostly read e-books, so I am curious if my opinion of it will change after I read the kindle version. The problem I have noticed with audiobooks is that they highlight grammatical errors and editing issues. St. Clair should fire her editor for not catching the repetitive phrasing, which is frankly unacceptable. I am an editor by chance, and it's not even my main job. The first thing I do beyond basic spelling and grammar is check for repetition - words and phrases used repeatedly. And this book fails with a CAPITAL F.

I want to give a shout-out to the narrator. She was fantastic, and her voice was soothing, but I do have to wonder if she got exhausted saying "she said, she said, she said, she said" over and over again. It was like nails grating on a chalkboard. It also frequently took me out of the story because it also meant that the dialogue was without any other characteristics.

This book also falls victim to the second in a trilogy trope. Authors must stop listening to their publishers when they tell them to break up the story into three parts. Nothing happens in this book besides a massive 300+ page tantrum thrown by Isolde. I liked her in the first book, but by the end of the second book, I was hoping that Adrian would put her out of her misery. She bitched the entire time and started random fights with him that didn't progress the plot other than to show that she has no emotional sobriety.

We get several reveals, but frankly, they weren't well executed, and the author left them on the table.

I am still planning on reading this book because I am curious if I will feel differently processing it differently. I do think the audio listening affects my world-building capabilities. It's just a different way of taking in information and, unfortunately for me highlighted the terrible editing. Look, dialogue is hard to write. I couldn't 100% say that if I sat down and wrote some, it would be perfect, but that's what the editor and the alpha readers are there for - to point out these areas for improvement.

I did not enjoy the first book much, and rated it 2/5 stars.

Based on the first three chapters, I feel more confident in this second book. I can already see a clearer set up for plot than in the first book, where I felt it struggled with its purpose.

Fingers crossed this is a better book!

I had forgotten a lot from the first book, which I read earlier this year, but I was so excited to dive back in, given where the first book ended. This sneak peak was just what I needed to get excited so I could see how Isolde deals with having memories of both her lives now.

The preview did not disappoint! There was a much-needed recap of the latest events that finished the previous book, and there was immediate action we have all been waiting for! Only these first three chapters show Isolde's character development and her strong resolve to stand and rule next to Adrian. I cannot wait for this release!

It's a good introduction to the book, it starts slow, but I'm intrigued by the few things I was able o read in the preview, thank you, and will look forward to the full book.

Such a great start to the second book in this series! I recently finished the first book and I loved it, no surprise there.

The first few chapters of Queen of Myth and Monsters is action packed in such a short amount of writing and leaves you wanting more. I love that we get to see Isolde become a strong FMC, fighting in battle for her people.

I can’t wait for Queen of Myth and Monsters to release on the 20th!

Ahh loved this preview. We pick up right where the first book ended. And spice already in the first chapter? Fuck yeah. I just wish the preview was a little longer but still super excited!

What a tease of a preview!! This was so good. The book clearly shows that it will pick up almost immediately where King of Battle and Blood left off and you're hooked once again. There's some spice right off the bat, but then you have Isolde being the "warrior first, queen second" (quote from the first book) and how she will lead and protect her people. All within the first couple chapters!

There's also little reminders as we're reading of who people are and their roles. So if someone didn't read this right after KBB or they aren't doing a KBB reread, it's refreshing without being too much. Can't wait for this second book.

I really enjoyed this three chapter preview of Queen of Myth and Monsters! Scarlett St. Clair’s writing is fast-paced and vibrant. It was hard to stop reading! This seems like it will be a romantic, political, and magical book in classic St. Clair style. Thank you to Scarlett St. Clair, Sourcebooks Bloom Books, and Netgalley for a free preview in exchange for honest feedback.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing a sample of this book!

The second installment in the Adrian x Isolde series by Scarlett St. Clair starts off with a bang, and I imagine things are going to keep moving at a fast pace! I'm excited to read the rest of this book when it comes out.

For as much of a review as I can give for 2 chapters, it was a good opening to the next book. Got me interested but I was already interested. It was also boring (sorry) enough that I can reread it when I actually read the book and it won't be too redundant.

Wow! The first three chapter of this book had me on the edge of my seat. Can’t wait to read to the rest when it comes out!

After a sneak peak of the first 3 chapters, I'm dying for the rest of the book. Somehow St. Clair managed to squeeze in super steamy scenes (everything I wanted and more), alongside scenes where Isolde fully embraces her role as Queen and the people in her new kingdom. We see her step up as a leader and a protector, never letting her mortality prevent her from defending her people from supernatural threats. Cannot wait to get my hands on the rest of this book!

Scarlet St. Clair never fails to create magic! Clair ignites her words with passion, love, and vengeance! Queen of Myth and Monsters attests to her writing prowess. Clair’s words speak to readers’ souls. With every new release, Clair proves to be the romance author of our generation.

Note: I received an arc of the first three chapters of Queen of Myth and Monsters from Sourcebooks and NetGalley. My thoughts reflect my options on the book based solely on these chapters. I will update my review once I have read Queen of Myth and Monsters in its entirety.

Isolde and Adrian are back, stronger than ever! Adrian is a powerful king in his own right, but nothing compares to the fire Isolde carries within her. Isolde is processing immense grief following the events of King of Battle and Blood, but she will not let that stop her from living.

Isolde’s life has changed irrevocably. The truths she held her entire life have been revealed as falsehoods. With a new understanding of the world and her place within it, Isolde is adrift. Her views have changed; Isolde has come into her own. She is no longer the woman of her past; she will never be that person again. Instead, a dominant force as Queen has taken its place.

Isolde will not back down from her goals. She is a badass who fights for what she believes in. While holding onto her truths, Isolde will never back down, despite the maddening males in her circle who will try to get her to change her mind.

Isolde has a heart of fire, a soul of vengeance. If the past has taught her anything, it is to trust no one. She will make tough decisions, no longer acting complacent. Traitors will be dealt with - ruthlessly and viciously. Isolde has no room for desserts.

Isolde will fight for her love. Isolde will fight for her people. Isolde will not falter.

Clair has delivered another novel with a fierce heroine who will not take shit from anyone. I love it! All-powerful women who take control, are confident in themselves, and are empowered by sex are beautiful! In a world where men think they get all the say, it is refreshing and enlivening to see women take control. Isolde is Queen! She is a badass who will let nothing and no one get in her way.

Scarlett St. Clair is my all-time favorite author! Her words are stunning and make me incredibly emotional. I have never read another work like Clair’s; she is unmatched. I am not being hyperbolic in any way when I say every novel Scarlett releases is a masterpiece! It is truly an honor to live in a time where Scarlett St. Clair’s works are available to the public. I can not capture into words how much her works mean to me. I would read Scarlett’s grocery list!

I am counting down the seconds until I can read the rest of Queen of Myth and Monsters. I can not wait to dive into Clair’s world of Adrian x Isolde again!

December 20th - I will be there. Right to the bookstore and back home. Taking my place, snuggled up with my cat by fire, devouring the book from start to finish! In preparation, I have taken the day off from work. Like Isolde, nothing will get in my way!

As if December 20th isn’t already going to be the best day of the year, the day I meet Scarlett on her tour this month will surely take the cake! I am living my best life and it is all thanks to Clair’s impact!

Do yourself a favor and pre-order Queen of Myth and Monsters. Right now! It will be the best decision you will make all year. Trust me, Clair is a legend!
