This is not an easy topic to write about. The author is so brave to share her story so openly and honestly. A great book

such a powerful story and so helpful, although it took me a while to be ready to read this book due to it's subject and my own grief but it really captured the author's grief and journey through that made it feel a little easier for my own but also left me feeling less alone and stumbling through the darkness without any understanding or guidance. A really supportive book I would recommend to anyone who is grieving in this particular manor and is ready to deal with it

I received this book as a free ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review

TW: Suicide and extremely sensitive topics.
The author took a brave step by talking about her husband's suicide and the aftermath of it on her family and children. She lets us know the problems her husband had, they had and how they dealt with life after the suicide.
The books adds a different angle to the discussion around suicide - the people left behind to live with it. They are often the target of undesirable questions and situations. They also bear the guilt of not being able to avert the death.
The author explains in detail about how she felt initially about it all and then how she fought the mental battle.
This book is an extremely important addition to the much-needed discussion about mental health. It comes from a lived experience of the author herself.
I would suggest it to anyone who has lost their loved one and is confused, guilty or doesn't understand how move forward. However, please remember that the book deals with topics that may be triggering to anyone. It is hard to talk to anyone about things like this so a book from a person who has been there may be helpful.
I received a review copy and I am posting my review voluntarily.
