This is my first time reading a novel by Irene Hannon and it won’t be the last one of her books that I will read. I throughly enjoyed her delightful cast of characters. Both Jon and Rose were somewhat reclusive as they tried to stay in the shadows while in public. Ashley was outgoing and up-lifting. All three had been hurt deeply by the ones they had loved. It took me a few chapters to get into the story but as it unfolded I found myself drawn in and eager to see how it all worked out as the ending came into sight. The book was entertaining, romantic and clean read. The Author has won me over to her writing style

The theme of this book would be that beauty is only skin deep and what’s on the inside, the heart, a persons character, their personality is what’s most important in a relationship. Jon was a war hero , wounded and scared for life. Rose was an older wealthy woman who had married a man who scammed many people in illegal business dealings. She was a recluse who hid herself from the public’s eye. She had also lost a child in her younger years . Rose had a few secrets that few people knew about. She was in the world but not of the world. Ashley was a beautiful woman who was an historian and loved to work on old Victorian style houses and turn them into business ventures. She had a genuine personality and was successful in business but not in her love life. A man had used her for her looks and then broke her heart. Hannon brings these people together in this book with a beautiful story that will keep your attention till the last page.

Readers of contemporary romance, clean read and women’s fiction will love this book. It is part of a series but it can be read as a standalone book. I recommend it! Windswept Way is scheduled to be released on 4/3/23.

I voluntarily read an advanced readers copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions expressed here in this review are my own.

The cover of this book does not do it justice. This is a book about hope and dreams. The obstacles that all three major characters face bring the reader into the story as we can all relate in some fashion. I would classify this as a "comfortable" read. The reader does want to know what will happen next, but it isn't life or death. The humor is subtle as is the romance. The total package of this book is just a delight to read.

Thank you to NetGalley for an ARC for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This is the ninth in the Hope Harbor series but readers who have not read previous books will still enjoy this charming story. Ashley, Rose and Jon all have carefully guarded scars of the past that will slowly emerge as they become acquainted with each other. Charlie, the taco man always has words of wisdom in just the right time. Love the banter between the pastor and priest.

I love Irene Hannon’s little town of Hope Harbor. It is filled with such wonderful characters and stories. This one was particularly touching. Hannon tackles a subject that is difficult and eye opening. And as always, there is another story in the background. And Charley, the taco guy is a favorite. I look forward to more from Hope Harbor.
My thanks to the publisher for a copy of this book via Net Galley.

Jon and Ashley experience romance in a “not really a ghost story” from Irene Hannen. At first I thought there would be an element of suspense, but it was more of a series of red herring maneuvers. Oddly, the entire story had the feel of a historical romance set in the 1950s, sort of like an old Essie Summers romance. Blushes and quiet language and a woman who stammers through explaining that her husband gambled away the family money while the other woman dares to wonder if there is someone who understands her own circumstance.

This is a sweet and gentle romance. Inspirational fiction from one of the leaders. 4 of 5 stars.

It's always a pleasure to be back among friends in Hope Harbor. While this could be read as a stand alone, I would urge you to start at the beginning of the series. You won't be disappointed.

This was a touching story and quite possibly my favorite of the series. Jon and Ashley have both had their share of trials and heartaches. Jon has closed himself off from others and certainly doesn't think he has any prospects of romance. Ashley is chasing her dream as she begins to heal from a broken relationship. They form a friendship and begin to help each other put their hurts behind them. I really liked these characters, as well as Rose and of course, Charlie. I appreciated the faith thread woven throughout the story also.

Windswept Way, a new Hope Harbor book! Yes, I love going back to this town of Irene Hannon's and visiting with the characters I've met there before. It's always fun remembering each character and their story as I read the latest happening there.
This story had some elements rarely seen in Christian fiction, the severely scarred Vet, the older woman recluse with hidden talents and the young woman with amazing courage, vision and heart.
I loved how these characters slowly worked their way to overcoming the obstacles to find peace and happiness. The faith thread was the key in all of them and made for a very thought provoking book.
I recomend this book and the entire series.
Thank you to Net Galley for allowing me to read this book. These opinions are entirely my own.

I always love getting to go back to Hope Harbor and catch up with past characters. Windswept Way is the ninth in the series but each can be read independently.

Ashley is new to town and is there to transform an old house into an event venue with the help of the owner, a recluse named Rose. Jon is the landscaper who is hired to help fix up the yard of the house. Ashley isn't looking for love due to a recent ex-boyfriend. Jon is carrying around a lot of internal and external scars which he believes makes him unlovable. There is also a secondary story line that deals with Rose and getting her to branch out a bit away from the house that she has banished herself to.

The story has some dark moments and issues when it comes to Jon and his feelings about his war-torn body but this makes the story more real. I love seeing the relationship between Ashley and Jon grow as they both learn to let go some of their past baggage. I also really enjoyed meeting Rose and seeing her come out into the community with the help of others.

This is a great light read that will leave you feeling warm and fuzzy inside.

Opening a new Hope Harbor book is like going back home. Windswept Way is Irene Hannon's 9th installment in this down home series. Who can resist a new couple as they find their way towards love in this sweet little town? Charley, the local artist/taco extraordinaire, makes his usual appearance along with seagulls Floyd and Glady. Check out this beautiful story and you'll be transported to the Oregon coast as you watch landscaper Jon and historian Ashley put aside their past hurts and work together to get Edgecliff House ready for tours and weddings. I've loved every single story in this series and am looking forward to #10!

Thank you Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review. All opinions are my own.

Windswept Way is the ninth novel in Irene Hannon's contemporary Hope Harbor series. Unfortunately for me, this was the first title I'd had the chance to try, and I was a little worried that I was going to end up not being able to keep up with the story. Thankfully, this one reads wonderfully as a stand alone, but I enjoyed it so much I think I will definitely have to go back and read some of the previous titles in the very near future.

Hope Harbor is a charming and idyllic town on the Oregon coast, and it's habited by a wonderful group of people who seem to be able to make any stranger feel welcome no matter what they're going through. Ashley Scott makes her way to the small town when the opportunity for a new business venture is way too amazing to pass up. As someone who loves history, she's intrigued at the opportunity to become part owner of a dazzling historic estate that her and the estate's original owner decide to try and turn into a wedding and special event venue. Ashley's healing from past hurts, and so is the wonderful but reclusive estate owner Rose. When the two ladies hire Jonathan Gray's landscaping business to revamp the grounds before the venue's open house, sparks soon start flying between Ashley and Jonathan. However, Jonathan has deep scars, both literally and figuratively, and both him and Ashley are hesitant to see what that could mean for a future relationship.

From start to finish, Windswept Way is a beautiful and charming contemporary romance that will make you do some deep thinking about just how much emphasis our world puts on outward appearance versus inward beauty. The story is wonderfully plotted, the characters knew just how to pull at my heartstrings, and I absolutely loved the idyllic setting of the beautiful historic estate set against the backdrop of the coast's dangerous cliffs.

I also loved the many townspeople who come to encourage Ashley, Rose, and Jonathan in their individual faith journey's, and in particular Charley, Reverend Baker and Father Murphy were all a hoot, and I couldn't have enjoyed them more.

This was a beautiful romance, and I'm only sorry it's taken me until the ninth title in the series to finally give Hope Harbor a chance.

Final Rating: 4/5.

I'd highly recommend this one to anyone who loves Christian contemporary romances, and/or romances that are thought provoking while still being clean and swoon worthy at the same time.

Thanks so much to Revell for allowing me to advance read and review this one!

Windswept Way is a heartwarming, emotional, and uplifting story! Rose Fitzgerald is 80 years old, a recluse at her family estate of Edgecliff. Ashley Scott is a historian, burned by her former boyfriend and looking to start over again in Hope Harbor. Jonathan Gray is a veteran who was injured by an IED, both physically and mentally. As fate brings them together, each with the pain and secrets from their own past, the possibilities of life and love help open doors, enriching each of their lives. I loved the reminder that outward appearances do not make the person; inner strength, integrity, honesty, grace, kindness, and so much more truly make a person who they really are.

Thank you to Revell and Netgalley for an advanced reader’s copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion. I recommend this book to everyone looking for a great read with substance!

After reading Windswept Way ethereal is the word that comes to mind. An enchanting tale where the side characters are as interesting as the main characters. It tackles the subject of overcoming obstacles with Grace, dignity, and decorum. I sat down to read for a few minutes and ended up finishing the book… it’s that good. One for the reread shelf for sure.

The queen of romantic suspense has done it again. She has delivered a perfectly paced mystery that is sure to have devoted readers and new fans alike on the edge of their seats and white knuckle gripping the armrests. The series does not have to be read in order, but as is the case with most things, the beginning is a very good place to start.

Ashley Scott’s dream job in Tennessee goes up in smoke and the boyfriend she thought would propose dumps her. Despite the misgivings of her overbearing mother, Ashley decides to embark on an adventure.

Using money her beloved father left her, Ashley travels to the seaside town of Hope Harbor in Oregon and accepts a business proposal she can’t turn down. She and her new partner, the reclusive heir to a lumber baron’s fortune, will restore Edgecliff. Ashley’s partner wants to restore laughter to the gorgeous brick mansion built in the Queen Anne Victorian style over a century ago.

Together, they want to create a venue for celebrations and joy. Ashley’s mother worries about Ashely’s ability to run a business. But the town of Hope Harbor seems filled with a supportive community ready to embrace a new entrepreneur. And although Ashley has no intention starting another relationship, her budding friendship with the mysterious landscaper adds an element of comfort to her new life.

Jonathan Gray has no intention of making himself vulnerable to other people. Even employees he’s worked with for years. From the moment his now ex-fiancée first saw his face, Jon has known his altered appearance will only bring others pain.

Exploding shells will do that to a man. Although he’s healed physically, he hasn’t healed emotionally. Moving far from home to the welcoming community of Hope Harbor has helped, but Jon still feels distant from God.

When he takes on a new project at Edgecliff, Jon has no idea how the people he meets will stretch him and push him to live life fully once again.

What I Loved About This Book

Hannon has a knack for creating intriguing characters in need of healing and placing them in the fictional town of Hope Harbor. The ninth book in the Hope Harbor collection, Windswept Way continues the theme of second chances and overcoming heartache.

Readers will relate to Jonathan and his desire to hide his scars (both external and internal), as well as Ashley’s desire to follow her dreams despite her mother’s naysaying. If you’re looking for a feel-good sweet romance, you’ll love Windswept Way.

This book is written by one of my favorite authors. Netgalley sent me (electronically) this copy for review. Thanks to the publisher and the author for the copy. An elderly woman, a young woman, an injured man (war), and other characters make this novel a quick, yet complicated, read. It is a cannot put down novel of mystery and intrigue, a cozy mystery, with faith at its base. Turning an old mansion into a modern setting for weddings is not for the faint of heart. Yet, this group of characters attempt to do just that. There are red herrings sprinkled about that had me wondering about certain aspects of the book. I enjoyed this story, and I think it would make a lovely television series or a movie. Enjoy this. Curl up in a comfy chair, grab a warm throw, a cup of steaming herbal tea, and perhaps a scone. Be transported to the life of these characters.

My thoughts: WINDSWEPT WAY is a charming romance that you won't be able to put down. Jon, a former model was badly injured in the military and now he's scarred for life. He's like a beast and everyone is horrified to even look at him. But when people got to know him, they discover he's kind, considerate, and worth getting to know. There are a lot of people hiding from life in this story, but when Ashley makes an effort she discovers no one is what they seem and there are surprises in every corner. You must read WINDSWEPT WAY. Totally worth it. I was given a copy free and all opinions are my own.

I received an arc from NetGalley and this is my honest opinion.

Ashley takes a leap of faith and makes a big move to Oregon. Once she reaches the Historical site she plans to run she is met with a masked man with a chain saw. She later finds out this chainsaw wielding man will be her future landscaper.

As Ashley gets to know Jon better she realizes not only does he have physical scars but scars on the inside as well. Can they work through these scars and heal or will it be too much for Ashley to handle.

This Beauty and the Beast romance is sentimental and heart wrenching but a beautiful love story that sees deep to the heart and not on appearance.
