Madhuri Iyer wants to avoid her family curse at all costs. Okay...so maybe it's not a curse but she's way too busy to worry about a relationship especially since all of the women on her mother's side end up marrying their first and only boyfriend.

Her conclusion: Date someone who she won't fall for, her best friend Arjun.

Together they devise the Kismat Experiment. They will date their senior year and break up the day after graduation. No feelings, no drama, and they will remain friends.

Expect Arjun has been in love with Madhuri for most of their lives and he isn't willing to let her go so quickly. Can they change their fate?

THIS BOOK WAS INCREDIBLE!! Immediately go Pre-Order readers. I am a sucker for found family, best friends to lovers and side characters that I now want to have spin-off books. This is a story that will stay with you in your head and in your heart. I'll admit I teared up multiple times because of how invested I was in the family dynamic and the complications of loving someone but needing to choose yourself sometimes.

Also, if you're into descriptions whether it's clothes, homes, people, or anything in between Ananaya Devarajan will take your breath away. I was highlighting multiple sections to come back to later. She is a talent and I look forward to housing her books on my shelves for years to come.

Thank you so much to Netgalley and Inkyard Press for this gorgeous ARC in exchange for my honest review.

this was a great debut novel from Ananya Devarajan, I thought the writing was really strong and I was invested in what was going on with the characters. It was what I was hoping for in a romance novel, it was a great young adult novel and I'm glad I was able to read this.

"Arjun covered her hand with his as he took a moment to think. His thumb ran a small circle over her knuckles and Madhuri just about melted. “Why don’t we come back to the Observatory once you’re committed to a university you love? That’d take away the edge, right?”

Madhuri devises an experimental relationship with her childhood best friend, Arjun to prove her mother wrong. But she starts falling for him and he has feelings for her too.

It's a cute rom-com. Both of the main characters are so cute. I love how they have such a history growing up together. It's funny and touching. I really enjoy it.

Thanks to the publisher for the arc.
