This is a good book. The two main characters are Jessie and Caleb. Jessie is the new veterinarian in town. Caleb is on the search and rescue. There is an instant attraction when they meet. Caleb is on a search and rescue when he finds the victim but can not find his dog. The dog is part of search and rescue team. Come to find out the dog fell over the cliff and got hurt. The dog was taken to Jessie’s office. She fixed the dog up. Jessie and Caleb had issues but together they worked them out and fell in love.

Jessie is the new Vet in town still healing from a broken heart from her ex. Cabe is a paramedic who's known for breaking hearts and when he's pup gets hurt while on duty he goes to the new Vet for help. Sparks fly but both are dealing with things when it comes to love.

This as a pretty cute book I liked getting to know the characters and seeing where they were coming from when it came to relationship issues. I liked seeing how they were with eachother and I couldn't help but root for them. There was ups and downs for what they were going to face with jobs and life ands stuff but it was interesting seeing how they were going to work everything out in the end. If you are looking for a light book with little drama you'll enjoy this.

I received an arc from NetGalley and this is my honest opinion.

Cabe, with Search and Rescue, takes his injured dog to the new vet Jessie. Both feel the instant attraction and as they get to know each other better, the closer they become. Both have a not so great past so will their past get in the way of their future?

You will enjoy these characters and the village the author has built surrounding them. The dogs and Bird are a highlight of the book as well. Very nice read.

Jessie Swinton is the new veterinarian in Santa Medina. She left San Francisco after a fiasco with her ex-boyfriend and has no interest in a relationship.
Cabe McBride , former Army medic, and a paramedic in town, had a nasty divorce and is also not interest in any type of relationship.
Fate, a dog and an emergency, brings them together. But will old hurts, and fears keep them from finally finding their HEA , this time with each other?
It was a sweet and touching story with complex, likable characters.
I was entrusted a copy of this book by Harlequin and Netgalley. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

Jessie is a veterinarian that has relocated to a small town to start over after a difficult breakup. She is determined to focus solely on her work and avoid relationships at all cost. Her plan is quickly challenged when she meets Cabe a paramedic and search and rescue volunteer. Jessie finds Cabe and his dog, Soldier equally charming. Cabe knows Jessie is something special but due to his own past struggles does not feel like he is worthy of true love. Such a great read. I really enjoyed this one.
