I downloaded this book, attempted to read it and the file wouldn’t work in my kindle. By then it was archived and I couldn’t attempt to download it again. Was unable to read it and would give it no star rating if that was an option.

This was such an interesting read! I really enjoyed reading through this book and I can't wait to try some of what I read. Great book!

this book is an introduction to cake pops, the history, how it's made, and the fact and science behind it. there's a step-by-step tutorial on how to make it but little readers still need an adult's help to do it. there's glossary for unfamiliar words and future reading references relatted to cake pops.

This is a good starter book for kids who are interested in baking.

I didn't realise how cake pops were made, so I learnt something too!

The book is short but it gives a nice history of cakes. Not too much info so it is still interesting for youngsters.

The book recipe uses a box cake mix from the shop, rather than a recipe for how to make your own cake base. I don't like shop bought mixes so we had to source our cake recipe first and then use this book for how to assemble the cake pops.

The basics for getting started and making your first cake pops are all in the book. Perfect for new bakers.

Let's Make Cake Pops is an accessible and well written guide to making adorable cake pop treats aimed at middle grade readers. Released 15th Aug 2022 by Norwood House Press, it's 32 pages and is available in hardcover and paperback format.

Author Mari Bolte has written a fun series of activity books slanted toward young readers with food related DIY activities. This particular volume includes step by step illustrated instructions start to finish, for producing fun and popular cake pops along with some serving suggestions. All steps are clearly photographed with specific and complete tools and ingredients lists. The writing is simple and understandable with all the steps needed for a successful outcome. She also squeezes in an impressive amount of background info without being condescending at all. The vibe of the entire series is upbeat, excited, and cool.

Five stars. This would be a superlative choice for public or school library acquisition, home use, activity/makers' groups, or gift giving.

Disclosure: I received an ARC at no cost from the author/publisher for review purposes.

What a fantastic book for children to learn about, and make a basic cake pop. It has very clear, simple and child-friendly instructions to help guide the child step by step, and includes a bit of background information at the beginning. I love how there’s lots of big photos for each page -. I think this is so important, as children need to know what they’re aiming for. If I could make one suggestion, it’d be to have a bigger section on possible toppings / how to decorate to achieve a great end result.

Thank you to Norwood House Press and Netgalley for an eARC of this book to read and review.

Simple enough for kids to follow. Maybe a bit wordy though. The instructions are clear and concise, and most kids would have no problem following them.

Cake pops is broken down into three parts: history, what you need, and making. There are pictures. In addition, the book states with help from a parent.

I would gift this and/or have the book with ingredients put up as surprise family time or snow day fun activity.

Thank you to the publisher, NG, and author for a copy of this book in exchange for honest feedback. I love these children's baking/hobby books. I read them whenever they come up on this website. I think that this one is kinda cute, I like the idea of it being just about cake pops. Believe it or not... cake pops can be kinda hard to make correctly! This book's instructions are clear and age appropriate, and of course alongside with an adult, I think this can be something done together for a fun beginner project. I like the visuals and presentation.

I thought that this was a really good book!
It was only brief but it had plenty of hints and tips
It was easy to read and follow and great for kids who want to learn more
It is well laid out, the images are nice and clear too which make it an attractive book
My daughter is a little too young for the book at the moment but she loves baking (we do it every weekend together) so this will definitely be one for her when she is a little older to read but I can't wait to have a go at making cake pops - it sounds like messy fun!
It is 5 stars from me for this one – very highly recommended!

My family loved trying to do these together. The book is easy to use and even my 4 year old understood what we were doing. We have had a lot of asking for more cake pops and making more so I think it’s a good sign we liked this book.
