Thank you, Netgalley, the author, and Sourcebooks Casablanca for the gifted e-book! ❤️ #gifted. My review is comprised of my honest thoughts.

Read this book if you like: Slow burn, multicultural romance, little steamy

I loved this book. I found it to be really fascinating. I couldn't put it down. Beck and Eden meet and slowly build a relationship. Honestly, nothing insane happened in this read, but I really enjoyed the characters. The Covid mentions were pretty random and just seemed thrown in. Overall, this was a cute, sweet read. I highly recommend it!

The Time of Your Life has an interesting plot and characters. However, I found myself unable to keep my focus and my mind wandered from the story. I just did not connect with either the characters or story and I found their diaglogue trite. While I did finish the book, I think it was just okay and it isn't one I would rave about to friends.

This was the first book I’ve read by this author but it won’t be the last one. The story begins as two people are brought together in grief and their friendship/love grows from that first meeting.

Eden and Beck met each other when they are both in a solemn place. They get to know each other when they are given an opportunity that changes both of their lives. The storyline flows as they navigate their relationship dealing with familial trauma and work relationships. This is some old school writing. It was a very slow read for me. The characters are wonderful, and they lift the story. It's just that the story line is so bland. I was waiting for the moment when the story would elevate, and it never did. I received this as a review copy. Overall, I give it 3.5 stars.

For me this book really dragged and I struggled to stick with it. The dialogue wasn’t entertaining and the miscommunication troupe was constant. It felt like the two main characters should’ve abandoned each other long ago.

I really just couldn’t finish this book.

"The Time of Your Life" by Sandra Kitt is a must-read for anyone who loves a heartwarming and inspiring romance novel. The characters are well-developed and relatable, and the plot is engaging from start to finish.

What sets this book apart, however, is the way it tackles important themes such as aging, self-discovery, and second chances. The author does an excellent job of exploring these themes in a thoughtful and sensitive way, making the story both entertaining and meaningful.

Overall, "The Time of Your Life" is a beautifully written and uplifting book that is sure to leave a lasting impression. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great read that will leave them feeling inspired and hopeful. It truly deserves a 5-star rating!

I received a complimentary copy from the publisher and all opinions expressed are entirely my own.

Sandra Kitt won me over as a fan with this book. The book follows Beck and Everett two very different people that have lost something close to them and have inherited millions. Beck is a journalist with the weight of the world on his shoulders and Eden is a law student with a heart of gold. They are both suspicious of each other but what's start of as suspicion, fear and uncertainty grows into something. It's a story about hope, love and family.

A okay good read. There are interesting characters with an engaging plot. However, the flow of this story dragged at times which gave into at time boredom.

Unfortunately, this book didn't work for me. I tried to read this book for days and I struggled. None of the characters , the plot nor the dialogue kept my attention.

I enjoyed Eden and Beck's story! It started off as mistrust between them, but ultimately led to a happily ever after. This was a first time read for me by this author. I can say I wholeheartedly enjoyed her work.
I read this book voluntarily from NetGalley in exchange for my honest opinion.

Thanks to Sourcebooks and NetGalley for the ARC.

This book is tricky in that it is mostly well written, but lacks any drama is boring. While I liked Eden very much but was ambivalent to Beck, the main issue is there was no conflict (asides a very silly last act sister thing that I don’t even want to think about). I dislike excessive angst, but a book has to have some tension to really stick the landing.

Also, there were so many things that didn’t get fleshed out and made me wonder why they had even been included. This includes Eden’s thing with the homeless people, Eden’s secret visit with Mom! (I still can’t believe this was never disclosed), what happened to Becks new business, amongst others.
Ultimately, while I can see what the author was trying to do, to me it failed to materialize.

I received an ARC and I’m leaving an honest review.

When I requested (and was accepted for) an ARC of this book it didn’t say on Netgalley that it was part of a series, nor did it say it on Goodreads (yet). But thankfully it’s one of those series that you can read as standalone.

I think the premise I read in the synopsis sounded really interesting but the execution was lacking and messy. The dialogues were a little weird and there wasn't much happening during the story, which made it sound boring.
During the first half I didn’t like Beck at all and wanted him to stay away from Eden, because even when he was trying to be polite he still came off as a jerk. He gets a little better in the second half but I’m still not completely sure about him. Eden started out as a good main character and then just kind of ruined my expectations of her in the last 25% with the sister drama (oh yeah... let's not talk about how immature Holly is).

Some moments where Eden was supposed to come off as girl-boss were just… bland, and some topics and arguments felt unnecessarily blown out of proportions. They're constantly having discussions and conversations (especially about important topics like grief or their arguments) but they never come to a conclusion. It felt like most of the conversations were left unfinished and simply derailed to something else after a while.

Actual rating: 2.75 stars.

3.5 stars

Eden and Beck first meet at a remembrance service for Everett Nichols. To Eden he was a mentor, and her generous benefactor who encouraged her to go to law school because he saw her endless potential. To Beck, he was a stepfather who treated him as his own blood. Neither knows this about the other until they attend a meeting with Everett’s lawyers during which the terms of his will are revealed.

The story is slow burn, and while I normally don’t mind those, it felt almost too slow. My mind kept wanting to go at a faster pace than the plot. There’s no major conflict between Eden and Beck. The tone of the writing messed with me because the characters come off sounding much older than they actually are. Their language felt more formal than conversational, and if it weren’t for references to smartphones or covid, I’d have been convinced this took place decades ago.

I did like specific things about the characters. Eden’s confidence and discipline. She stands tall and proud. Beck’s a sweetheart, bold, smart and ambitious like Eden. And both of them loyal to a fault.

I was fine with this novel; I just wanted more ‘oomph’ from the plot. I think this is a perfect read for someone who wants minimal drama or angst, some steam, and an even-keeled story overall.

Thank you to @netgalley & @sourcebookscasa for my ARC. This is my honest review.

Two strangers lives are forever changed by the death of a loved one. Immediately suspicious of the other, they must navigate through their new circumstances.

This book was slow paced and just an okay read

I enjoyed this book so very much! Beck and Eden were characters that I instantly cared about. They were fully fleshed out, easy to care for, and people I'd like to know. I was sad that Everett was dead because he was a fantastic character! I loved getting to know him through reading The Time of Your Life.

I never even realized this was the second in a series. The author did a fantastic job of making it read as a standalone, so if you're wondering whether to pick this up because you didn't read book one, I'd go for it.

Beck and Eden's romance unfolds slowly, which is nice. There was no insta-love or sex on the first date. I appreciated that very much. These characters were two adults that have worked hard to get where they were that were careful and focused about their path in life and business.

I highly recommend this slow burn romance. Now I'm off to pick up the first in this series.

Thank you to Netgalley, the author, and publishers for an ARC at my request. All thoughts are my own.

I had the hardest time reading this book, I just found it so bland, the writing was completely flat and neither character really hele my attention or made me feel anything.

Eden Marsh has had a chip on her shoulder and thought that once she graduated from college everything would fall into place. She was rudderless. Enter Everett Nicholls, a self made billonaire. He offers her an internship that puts her on the path of law school. Just as she is coming to the end of her schooling, he dies. Beck Dennison has come to the funeral. In a case of a mix up in the rooms, he decides to help. Little did Eden know that he isn't the help but Everett's step-son. I enjoy how they get to know each other. She brooks no lies and he has a couple of secrets he's not willing to share yet. What Eden doesn't realize is that she is beautiful both inside and out and that is what draws Beck to her, not some phony put on person. What Eden does is makes Beck confront his past. Words that are spoken in the moment of grief, can never be unsaid. Love is in the air. It opens them both up to heartache, healing and forgiveness. A beautifully written book.

The meet cute was unique in this romance, a wake for a man they both loved dearly. It's only after they become the sole beneficiary to the man's vast fortune, do they truly connect romantically. But first, both must work through family issues to truly connect to move forward.

The storyline was ok, and the money really added to the romance other than we are rich. I also found Eden's issues with her sister immature compared to what Beck was having to overcome. The Time of Your Life begins slowly, and I would've preferred more romance.

Thank you Sourcebooks for the complimentary copy.

Having not read the first book in the series, I was worried that I would be missing large swaths of information. However, this book could have easily been a novel. I did enjoy the character development and general story arc, I did find that the description of the book resolved itself quite early on in the story, while many other plot points persisted.

Overall I think content balance and pacing were a struggle. Romance books normally take me a weekend to read, a day if I'm listening. I've had this book for weeks and finally finished it. I honestly kept selecting other books over it because I didn't want to go back to another slow part.

Thank you NetGalley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

**ARC Review**

Honestly, this book was just a little bit boring... I didn't feel like there was an overarching conflict or plot, which was disappointing because the concept held a lot of promise. I didn't really feel the chemistry between the two main characters, either, and they both had some moments where they really talked down to and about other women (Alia, the MMC's ex, and Holly, the FMC's sister) which just left a bad taste in my mouth.
