This is the 2nd book in “The Millionaires Club”. This is an entertaining read that was emotional at times with the family issues that Beck and Eden faced together. This is Beck and Eden’s journey to an HEA. Beck is a well-known journalist. Eden is a law student, works part time, does volunteer work and has a younger adult sister Holly who is an international airline stewardess and a handful at times. Everett was a millionaire and he was married to Beck’s mom Nora and they had a son Mason who drown at the age of 7-years-old. Since the death of Beck’s younger brother Mason, he and his mother Nora have a strained relationship. The two are slowly making their way back to each other as Nora once blamed Beck for the death of his brother Mason. Everett mentored Eden and he was very fond of her; he convinced her and paid for her to attend law school to become a lawyer. Beck and Eden are both dealing with family issues. Beck initially spotted Eden at his stepfather’s funeral. The two meet again when Eden is having a memorial service for Everett. As Eden is getting things together for the memorial service she mistakes Beck for one of the employees at the memorial services at the hotel. Beck comforts Eden when he sees her crying at the memorial as she is having a hard time dealing with Everett’s death. The two forge a friendship that develops into something more meaningful. Eden and Beck are both at a meeting and Eden learns that Everett was Beck’s stepfather. Eden has inherited five-million dollars from Everett; Beck has inherited Everett’s company and a large sum of money. I love the camaraderie between Beck and Eden. They are both great for each other, have a lot in common, perfectly matched, great companionship, love their chemistry and attraction to each other. The two really needed each and no matter their circumstances they were there for each other thru their ups and downs. This is an awesome read that Sandra Kitt has written and I am looking forward to reading the next book in “The Millionaires Club.”

The Time of Your Life by Sandra Kitt has some weighty issues but the situations add substance to the story which also has many moments of levity and gentle humor. It has been years since I read a book by this author so I was eager to experience her talents again. I was in no ways disappointed! The two main characters, Eden Marsh and Beck Dennison, meet at the memorial service of Everett Nichols. The pair share several close moments without exploring their connection to Everett. When they discover that they are both beneficiaries in his will, Beck makes some negative assumptions about Eden’s place in Everett’s life. Their journey to understanding and connecting is a gently and sweetly rendered love story. Ms. Kitt takes her time and paints a lovely picture of love realized, growth and acceptance. Thanks to Sourcebooks Casablanca and NetGalley for this ARC.

Beck might have guessed that Everett, his step father, might leave him something in his will but Eden, who worked for him, certainly did not. And now, the two of them are tied together by their inheritances. They build a relationship slowly (this isn't one of those steam at first sight novels), through walks around DC (like the way the setting is used)z, and in talks. They both have issues to deal with- Eden's sister Holly is a problem and Beck's got to rethink his life goals. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. It's not a flashy novel but it's a good read.

Even though the book is a slow burn, I loved the blossoming romance between Eden and Beck. They met at the memorial for her mentor who just recently passed. Little does she know that Beck is closer to her mentor than she thought. They both get a huge inheritance, and I loved how they flowed together through it all. Eden shows up as this very strong no nonsense woman who isn’t afraid to be real and let her guard down when it comes to Beck and he is the same. I really enjoyed them.

This was an interesting romance from an author who is completely new to me. This is the story of two people who meet at the memorial of someone close to both of them and discover that he left each of them millions of dollars. The inheritance isn't the main point of the story, which I appreciated. It drove the plot to some extent, but the book was really about the couple, their dating and falling in love, and their navigating their family relationships.
I liked how steady and serious both of the main characters were. They were nice people who were working hard to attain goals and find their way. There wasn't a huge amount of drama in this story, but I was never bored, or felt like the story dragged. Overall, I would say this was a solid 3.5 star read for me.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me to read an advanced readers copy.

I will leave a review on Amazon and B&N on April 11th
Overall I found the book to be a good read, but not a great read in my opinion. When Everett Nicholls dies, he leaves his millions to the two people that mean the most to him in his life. Eden and Beck both are suspicious of the other one, but over time they come to realize they have a lot in common. Does having more money than you ever dreamed up, made you happy or does it only add more problems to your life. I would still recommend this book to others, because I know not everyone enjoys the same type of books.

I saw reviews that said they felt the book was slow. I actually like a romance where the people meet and actually date and get to know each other. Crazy right? I am not for insta-love books. So I did not mind all of that. This book is about two people who have ties to a man that died and he left them both with millions of dollars. Umm Beck is the guy's stepson so why would he not know he was getting the money. That did not make sense to me. I get why Eden was shocked. I felt like that plot line was just weird. The blurb makes it look like that is going to cause issues and it did not. Then they both had family issues and I did not feel like they knew each other enough or their significant other's families enough to get involved with the other's family issues. Eden's sister doesn't clean up after having people over and you would think she just murdered somebody. It just seemed like issues were brought in for no reason. Now Beck's family issues were more serious and he did need to work some things out but I definitely did not feel like Eden knew enough to put her two cents in. So the book was okay. If it would have just been Eden and Beck and seeing more about their family issues I think it would have been better. The money did not add anything to the story in my opinion.

This is the first book I've read by this author. I had no idea what to expect.
Eden and Beck meet at the memorial for Everett. Everett was important to both of them for very different reasons. They are quite intrigued by each other after their first meeting. When both are summoned to a law office for the reading of the will that might change. They become suspicious of each other because neither knew of the others relationship with Everett.
This is not a fast paced book. It is a slow burn.
I loved the setting and them walking around the city of DC and the descriptions of it. I enjoyed that a lot of the drama in the story takes place in the characters minds rather than actual conflict between the two. It was interesting to watch the characters change and grow throughout the book.
Thanks you to netgalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for the arc.

“The Time of Your Life” by Sandra Kitt
I loved this story.
I may forget the title of this story. I may forget the author’s name. But I will never forget the tattoo. Yes, I smiled, and chuckled, and my tears flowed, too. This author will be added to my “Watch for this author’s works” list. Happy Reading ! !
NOTE: This review expresses my honest opinion.
I received a copy of this book via NetGalley.

It's been years since I have read a book by Sandra Kitt. I remember really enjoying her book years ago, so when I saw her name and this cover I just had to get it. I story was enjoyable, but very slow paced. I like a good slow burn romance, but the romance in this book didn't take until way into the book to appear. The characters instantly had a connection and the reader goes along the journey of them falling in love, slowly. And at times I had to remind myself that the story was set during this time period and not several decades in the past. It helped that the author mentioned life during the Pandemic, but it still felt like the story was set in another time period. I enjoyed the book for what it was, but I found myself not always picking it back up to read it everyday. If you like your romances slow paced than this story might just be for you. Thanks to Sourcebooks Casablanca and NetGalley for this ARC.

Eden Marsh was in law school and she had been looking after her sister Holly. Holly worked for an airline and she was pretty much a mess and depended on Eden for everything. Her mentor Everett Nichols owned Steelworks enterprises and she had worked for him during her schooling. Eden was in charge of arrangements for a tribute to Everett when he passed. She was an in charge person and while she was getting the tasks done in walks Beck. Beck was Everett’s stepson but he thought Eden worked for the catering company and she had no clue who he was.
Next, comes the reading of the will and Holly was left with five million and Beck was left the company. Beck was very interested in Holly and her likewise but skeptic of each other. It was fun to see how she would go into Tiffany’s and look at these diamond earrings when she needed a boost. I loved how they walked all over D.C. and I felt like I was right there with them from descriptive writing. This is the first book I have read from this author but I will be reading more in the future.

3.5⭐️
It took a minute to get into this story of Beck and Eden. The beginning started out clunky but my interest was piqued to see if it would get better. And better can be answered with a yes and a no. The evolving relationship between Beck and Eden was smooth until the friction that wasn't really friction (caused by Eden's) sister entered the plot. I was so confused I had to read it twice. And both times I was like did a disagreement just occur over that?
Needless to say, there wasn't much conflict or hurdles to overcome throughout this story. The romance was mostly closed door which wasn't expected given the anticipation to the MCs first encounter. Overall, I was disappointed in this romance.

“Do you need a hug?”
I enjoyed the story of a young law student and a journalists who met when their mentor passed away. While the story is slow in parts, I felt the author fleshed out the story and characters well. The two main characters both have life alternating history. I enjoyed the setting in Washington DC since I live very close to DC. I liked how both character helped one another with the difficulties they faced in their life. Good portrayal of young adults new in their careers with both having good heads on their shoulders. Minimal angst, slow burn romance, and a good read.

The Time of Your Life by Sandra Kitt was a long, slow novel. It's the story of Eden, a lawyer and Beck, a journalist who meet at a memorial for a man who was important to both. I felt the characters were underdeveloped, their conversation seemed forced and I just had a hard time getting through it because there was no plot. Nothing really happened besides their relationship. Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for an ARC of this novel in exchange for my honest review.

Romance fans who choose stories with a bit of substance will want to take a look at this title. The characters’ back stories, interactions and interconnections make for a good read.
A lawyer dies. The contents of his will alter the lives of two people. They are Eden Marsh and Beck Dennison. Everett Nichols influences their futures.
Prior to his death, Everett Nichols was an inspirational figure to Eden while Beck was estranged from him. Nichols leaves a significant legacy to each. What happens when these two and their inheritances come together?
The story of the two main characters is well told. There are also others in this book whom readers get to know. There is, for example, Eden’s troubled sister.
This book offered a romance between two characters who felt real. They had doubts and feelings on their way to the future.
Many thanks to NetGalley and Sourcebooks for this title. All opinions are my own.

Relationships are messy. In this story we look at a man that died and left his wealth to his 2 favorite people. They meet and eventually become involved. Then there are the messy relationships of siblings, Mother and child and even a conniving ex. Each relationship plays out as Eden is finishing up her law degree and a hectic schedule. Beck has to decide to give up his dream to run the company he inherited. The book has lots going on intermixed with the steam of a new love. I enjoyed the story.

Solid 3.5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️✨
Thank you NetGalley for the advanced copy of this book.
The prose and word choice used in this book were often awkward and/or aggressive. There were a few spelling errors as well (I.e. Maine Avenue misspelled like “Main”). However, I soon fell in love with this story. Beck and Eden are two characters that I will reflect on for a long time.
Ironically, I read this book on a short trip back to DC where I used to live and met my husband. This book reminded me so much of the DC dating scene. The nostalgia I felt was palpable.

The Time of Your Life revolves around two central characters: Eden and Beck. Each has family dynamics strained by losses, yet both are responsible, almost too much so. They connect through Everett Nicholls, Eden's mentor and Beck's stepfather. There's ex's for both in the background, but both realize they have a unique connection. How Ms. Kitt weaves all of the characters together is nothing short of masterful. A delightful read that you won't be able to put down. I look forward to more of her work!

The story starts off rather slow, but it was nice seeing both Eden and Beck’s initial attraction and excitement for each other. I really did enjoy the premise of the book and the fact that both of our main characters had an air of maturity that I don’t always see when I read contemporary romances. But while I liked Eden and Beck separately, and it was clear there was attraction between the two characters, I didn’t feel connected to them as love interests as the story went on. The style of writing itself wasn’t entirely it for me, and I found myself skipping over some parts that had a lot more exposition, so I could get to the meat of the story.
Overall, I enjoyed seeing them both grow and overcome their own familial issues and grief.
Thanks to NetGalley, the publisher, and the author for the chance to read this book!

This novel is why I love NetGalley. I would probably not have read this book but I was offered an ARC and I loved it. The characters, especially Eden and Beck. Who hasn't had an out-of-control infatuation with a really tarnished "idol" only to realize that the best match was right in front of her/him? Well-written and very realistic, even though I wanted to shake Eden at times as she was so blind to Beck's feelings for her. All in all, I heartily recommend this book to lovers of romance and realistic story telling. Although the book was freely offered to me, my opinions are my own!
