Legendary romance writer, Sandra Kitt’s new novel is a warm and intimate story about a charming first encounter that turns into a deep relationship. When successful journalist Beck meets busy and accomplished law student Eden at a funeral, they each mistake each other for event staff. But they soon find out that not only are they profoundly connected by their relationship to the deceased, but both their fortunes are about to change in a substantial way. Their relationship grows in a slow-burn that is mostly gentle with some steamy scenes. Family conflict and past trauma storylines round out this loving and mature novel that fans of contemporary romances featuring professional and multicultural characters, and a strong focus on relationships, will enjoy. Great pick for readers of Jane Igharo’s emotionally complex novels.

This was a very cute romance based on the slow building of a relationship. It deals with family problems of both the main characters, their first attraction to one another and the consequent development of their feelings in a realistic way.
The only thing that made me difficult to read it was the seriousness. It would have been perfect if it had been a little more lighthearted but it’s not a rom-com, so it’s understandable. 3,75⭐️

Millionaire Everett Nichols death had an impact on so many people he touched. At his memorial two people Everett cared for the most, his young mentor Eden Marsh and his stepson Beck Denson are drawn to each other, but also suspicious of the others relationship with Everrett.

Things are further complicated their newfound friendship when they discover Everett has left his millions to the two of them. Deep family problems begin to eat away at the budding friendship. Eden and Beck find themselves faced with guilt and family obligations as they attempt to understand what is happening between them. Negotiating their feelings for each other find the two wondering if they can leave the past behind and build a future together.
I enjoyed this story. Some may find that start slow and want to give up, but I felt the slow pace was necessary to build a foundation for the story to unfold. We were left watching a strained mother/son, big sister/little sister and the guilt Eden and Beck felt from those relationships begin to tear Eden and Beck apart. Will they be able to mend all bridges and build new ones as they navigate new wealth and new boundaries.

A delightful read, overall decided to give this 4 stars because the beginning was a bit slow for me, but once the MCs began to understand each other things went well

Familial relationships are so complex and sometimes it just takes another persons perspective to help guide you in those interactions even if it’s something you’ve always known.

Beck and Eden are so sweet, enjoyed them a lot.

Thanks to Netgalley for the opportunity to read this

I really enjoyed this! This is my first Sandra Kitt book and it brought me out of my reading slump. It felt like you were going through the motions with the characters- it was real and relateable. I’m from the DMV so it felt a little like beinh home.

Sandra Kitt is one of the legends of Black Romance so I had to read this book. It was fun and really well paced, Eden and Beck are classic enemies to lovers who want to get to the money! LOL. But beyond the money, they need each other to navigate the problems that money brings. (esp family problems). I Really enjoyed it,

This is my first Sandra Kitt book and it won't be my last. I enjoyed that it was a completely different view of life from my own. It is almost a fairy tale when Eden Marsh finds her life changing after the memorial service for her mentor.
The setting is Washington D.C. in.the immediate present, and there are a lot of walks where the reader is taken throughout the city. Eden is a 3rd year law student and her life changing choices really are almost too good to be true. Her relationships with her new possible love, her ex as well as her flight attendant sister are quite realistic even as the fairy tale quality experiences happen. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for introducing me to a new author.

Everything Sandra Kitt writes is golden. The Time of Your Life is truly the time of your life! Without giving the story away, I'll recommend this to anyone and everyone who is in search of a) warmth, b) a touch of humor, c) an outstanding story, d) something with a bit of spunk rather than that snarky attitude we've seen of late, e) an enduring and endearing love story and life story, f) that book that's worth believing in because it's just so right.

Books like this, the second in The Millionaires Club series, provide hope and teach us to believe in something more. I enjoyed my time with Sandra and her characters, and I look forward to the next in the collection.

The kind folks at NetGalley provided a copy of this one, and I'm all the better for having read it.

I really enjoyed this book!
It was a bit unexpected for me, because I simply didn't know how the author would structure the novel and I had different expectations from it but, I was pleasantly surprised in a good way.

The book was the tale of an unexpected meeting of two people that come together. It was done well paced, fun to read and entertaining

I enjoyed reading about the characters and their respective POVs were distinct! I also really liked the author's writing!

It’s been a challenging few years for law student Eden Marsh, who’s focused on the next phase of her life and professional career as she feels stuck in a parenting role for her impetuous younger sister Holly. When Eden’s mentor, Everett Nichols, dies and leaves her an unexpected windfall it sets off a chain of encounters with strangers who are one or two degrees of separation from Everett as they alter the trajectory of her plans for her future. Mysterious Beck Dennison crosses paths with Eden in a comedy of errors and confusion that ends their first meeting with a spontaneous act of compassion. It eventually leads to a deeper connection. This second entry in the Millionaires Club series works as a stand-alone and is a sedately evolving, proper romance that’s heavy on the women’s fiction vibe, moreso than the first entry, Winner Takes All. Eden and Beck’s love story exudes cozy warmth and sensuality rather than the faster pace and fiery sparks in the way long-time Sandra Kitt fans have come to expect, although it still delivers a satisfying read.
