I love Alexandra Ivy Romantic suspense series and cannot get enough of those stories. I have tried to read several of the Guardians of Eternity series and some of those stories are a hit or miss for these readers.

The author invites readers into her Paranormal world of demons, gargoyle, Jinn, Imp, and everything you can think of in the supernatural world she has created for her readers.

There are a lot of characters that come from different books and while you would think after 20 books the author would be repeating story lines (Only head a few so maybe) the author seems to bring a fresh new look to her series that will bring new readers into her world and cast of characters. The story has cheesy romance lines that will make readers laugh a little but hey sometimes you just need to escape from the real world and dive into the romance Alexandra Ivy has created.

Thank you to Netgalley for advance copy of Sate Darkness.

Sate the darkness is the 20th long novel in The guardians of Eternity series by Alexandra Ivy. At this stage, if you don’t know I’m a fan, I can’t do anything for you LOL.
This book was as awesome as the others, and yet at a point I was really afraid I wouldn’t have all the answers to my questions. But no, once again Alexandra Ivy manages very well.

Sate the darkness takes place some times after the end of the previous volume, Stalk the darkness. In theory it can be read alone but really, according to me, this series has to be read from the first volume.
The main characters are totally new in the universe. We have Sofie, a very powerful vampire, and Ryshi, half djinn half imp. He has been caught red-handed stealing in the Chicago vampires’ lairs, and has been arrested with Sofie’s intervention. He’s been in jail for a dozen years in Styx’ dungeons. Ryshi is also known as the only one who went into the minotaurs’ labyrinth and exited alive.
It’s because of this ability that he’s going to negotiate his freedom.
Indeed, Levet has been kidnapped by the minotaurs and Ryshi is the only one able to free him. For this, he must team up with Sofie who can control the mind of all supernatural beings.

With this volume, the series takes on a new dimension that had been initiated in the previous volumes but here it’s much more pronounced.
On one hand, Alexandra definitively introduces powerful new characters, one of which appears in Stalk the darkness and takes even more place here. I won’t say more about it and let the readers discover what I’m talking about. In any case, that will probably enable new adventures for our favorite heroes.
On the other hand, the author focuses most on the adventure and the suspense. There’s always a main couple but the other secondary characters (Styx, Viper, Levet…) step in almost equally. I’d say the writing looks like scriptwriting: we feel like we are in a TV show.
The question is what about the love relationship? It’s still very present. The author gives us a reunion between Ryshi and Sofie instead of a meeting and it avoids the obligations of each discovering the other’s personality. In Sate the darkness our heroes have secrets they must confess to each other before thinking about their common future. Evidently there’s no time for conflicts or misunderstandings, and it’s really fine with me.

To conclude I had a very good time once again with this new opus by Alexandra Ivy. I don’t what she has in store for the future but once again I’ll be there.

Fantasy Novel

Chicago, IL- Present Day

Styx, the king of vampires, has a problem. A seven foot gargoyle has parked herself in his garden and has no intention of moving. Aunt Bertha, the seven foot gargoyle, wants Styx to find her nephew. It seems her nephew, Levet, has been kidnapped by a minotaur. Styx finds Levet annoying but if the only way to get rid of Aunt Bertha is by finding him, he will do it. Styx goes to get Sophie, a reclusive vampire and lets Ryshi, a thief he has kept in his dungeon for ten years out. Their job: find Levet and bring him back.

Sophie has been a recluse for decades and she likes it that way but her gift of being able to ensnare a person’s mind makes her essential to Styx. He needs her to do it to Ryshi, who is part jinn and part imp, to control him so that he does not run away. As Sophie and Ryshi enter the minotaur labyrinth they start to have feelings for each other but can Sophie trust Ryshi; she knows he is hiding something from her. Then there is Sophie's gift of being able to ensnare a person’s mind, it is a dangerous gift when she uses it at its full power. She has spent decades perfecting her gift but it is still dangerous nevertheless.

SATE THE DARKNESS is a story full of vampires, minotaurs, gargoyles, and Gods. The story is well written and full of humor but, at times, I felt the humor fell flat. There is romance in it that develops between Sophie and Ryshi and it is nice between them but I felt that I was walking in the middle of a story having missed some important moments like with Aunt Bertha and the God, Hades. They obviously have a history in the Guardians of Eternity series but since I never read any of the other books I felt out of the loop.

SATE THE Darkness is an interesting read that may be even better for readers who have already read the other books in the series.

Sate the Darkness (Guardians of Eternity) by Alexandra Ivy
Another great book in this series - Ryshi—half-jinn, half-imp and Sofie a vampire with special gifts. They are both strong H/h and are given the task of finding the gargoyle Levet by the Anasso. This angsty, funny, scary mission with lots of old friends/enemies, great sub stories, love and some steam all to get us to many HEA's.
Reasons I enjoyed this book:
Action-packed Romantic Unpredictable Entertaining Easy-to-read Happily Ever After Wonderful characters Funny Scary Steamy Haunting Great world building Page-turner Informative.

Most long running series can run out of steam and become repetitive but not this one ! The author clearly loves her characters and the world she has created and seems to imbue every book with action, humour and of course passion and love. This time the adorable Levet is in trouble as he’s been kidnapped by Minotaurs but never fear his aunt is on the case and quickly gets the Vampires to release Ryshi, the half Jinn, half Fae thief who can get into the Labrynth . Sofie is tasked with keeping Ryshi on track but in a place created by a Goddess not everything is as it seems !
Any time the story features Levet is always a joy to read. His aunt Bertha is also becoming a character to watch out for in subsequent books. Although this story contains the romance that takes place between Ryshi and Sofie it never felt unbalanced or overshadowed and I loved how all the threads were woven together giving the reader a romantic story that was fun and took me away from reality.
This voluntary take is of a copy I requested from Netgalley and my thoughts and comments are honest and I believe fair

Sate the Darkness is book 20 in Alexandra Ivy’s Guardians of Eternity series, and a story packed with action, danger, intrigue and fiery chemistry. These are stories that draw the reader in and captivate and enthrall until thew last page is turned, as the characters weave a spell that ensures your undivided attention. A well-written storyline with plenty of banter and the ever-lovable Levet to lighten the mood. Sate the Darkness is a wonderful addition to this fabulous series and one that I thoroughly enjoyed and am happy to recommend it to all lovers of paranormal romance and delighted to add the print version to my extensive collection.

Another great read in the Guardians of Eternity. Each time I figure this is the last book in the series, a new one comes along with new members and new questions so I am looking forward to the next. I enjoyed each of the story lines or bu plots that all worked together to be one big plot. Inga and Levet, Bertha and Hades and of course the main characters, Sofie and Ryshi. I kept wondering how it would pan out with the Anasso at the end. Should have known Alexandra Ivy would have that covered. I also want to know who made the bargain and what was it? Ryshie took a bit to grow on me, but when he did, I was 100% in his corner. Levet can get on my nerves too, but seeing him grow a bit in this one was a pleasant surprise. I enjoyed Sate the Darkness as it was more a paranormal with romance, suspense, mystery and not constant hanky panky scenes. To me one can have romance, suspense without all the explicit physical scenes taking up pages and pages. ( I am trying to use words so that B&N doesn't block my review, ha). The old saying you can't please everyone all the time is a unfortunately every authors nightmare. As usual, Alexandra Ivy delivers, another reason she is an auto buy, even if I receive an arc:) Thank you for the arc I freely volunteer my thoughts and opinions! #satethedarkness #guardiansofeternity #alexandraivy #lyricalpress #netgalley

With this series going on for so long you would think that after a while it would start to get repetitive but some how Alexandra always manages to make it seem new and fresh and this time it is the addition of the minotaur's that creates that freshness

The minotaur's have imprisoned Levet the gargoyle who is a long standing character in this series in their labyrinth and the only who may be able to find his way through and rescue him is Ryshi a half-jinn, half-imp because he is the only one to ever traverse the labyrinth and survive and he is available because he is serving time in Styx's goal for stealing vampire artifact The one who is sent to help him in this endeavour is Sofie the vampire with the mind controlling abilities and the woman who caught him and led to his imprisonment and he ahs never forgotten her. Now not only does he have to rescue Levet if he wants his freedom but he has to convince the woman he loves that he is the one for her and get her to start living life again after she has turned herself into a recluse. With plenty of adventures in front of these two be prepared for a wild ride.

Loved reading the mesmerizing and engaging paranormal romance story. When the Anasso calls Sophie, a vampire, to use her mind powers on Rhys, a handsome, conniving jinn, to rescue Levet from the minotaurs in the labyrinth, Sophie has no choice but to work with the alluring Rhys. As Sophie and Rhys battle darkness and danger, the attraction between them grows. Read the highly recommended, wonderfully written, and another riveting story by the phenomenal Alexandra Ivy!

Sate the Darkness is the latest in Alexandra Ivy's Guardian's of Eternity series, AKA the 'Chronicles of Levet, lol. Ryshi and Sofie are tasked with rescuing Levet and discover much more along the way. Levet is my favorite character but I enjoy meeting new and interesting characters in each book. Levet's Aunt Bertha is becoming a favorite too. A great book for paranormal romance lovers.

I love this series! I always wait for the new book then put off reading it because then I don’t have to wait as long for the next one. When Levet is kidnapped or gargoyle napped, his Aunt knows just the being to help get him back. When Styx looks out and finds a large gargoyle sitting on his roses demanding he find her nephew he knows just who to send on the mission!

I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own

After so many books you would this series would get stale but it just gets better.
I can never get enough of Levet and Inga there just so adorable.

Ryshi has sort of been imprisoned in Styx’s jail for years after sneaking into vampires lairs and stealing from them. As a Jinn /fey he always finds a way out.

I’m the only one capable of that particular feat.” “Why?” The wicked smile returned. The creature even had the audacity to step closer to her, his gaze locked on her lips. “Because I’m multitalented. Would you like a demonstration?”

Sofie lives as a recluse because of things that happen on her past. She has special powers that are needed to find Levet when he is kidnapped. Aunt Bertha shows up and Styx has no other choice than to search for the tiny annoying gargoyle.

Great work building and character interaction that makes this story unforgettable.

Love this series. This one has several groups trying to rescue the insufferable Levet from being captured by the minotaurs. Besides his aunt who is with the god Hades, there is the vampire Sophie and the Jinn Ryshi. Fun adventure, with lots of banter. Highly recommend this one.

This new installment in the Guardians of Eternity series brings everything I've come to love about Alexandra Ivy's writing: an interesting plot with three interwoven storylines that switch perfectly throughout the book, amazingly imaginative settings, and the most snarky, witty humor that will have you smiling and laughing regularly.

This one picks up right where book 20 left off. The real star of the show in this one is Levet, of course. I really loved that he got these moments of humility among his sense of grandeur, especially when people finally start falling at his feet.

"One thing about jinn, Sofie, is that we are captivated by a challenge."
"Get this straight, Ryshi. I am not a challenge."
"Too late."

It's not unsurprising I really liked this book. Unfortunately though, the romance part of it fell flat on both accounts - Sofie and Ryshi, and Hades and aunt Bertha. I just didn't feel the chemistry throughout. There were definitely little moments where it sparked, but not enough to make me feel invested in a love story. I got more of a partners in crime vibe for Sofie and Ryshi than lovers, and don't get me started on the fated mates that was thrown in but could've given their storyline a lot of opportunities had it been introduced from the start.

It had a lot of potential on the romance part, but it sadly didn't come through for me. What kept me going was the plot, setting and the snarky comments that still made for a good time even though the romance wasn't entirely there for me. So 3.5 stars.

I'm looking forward to a new installment, in which we hopefully get some idea of what happened to the Sylvermist and the woman he kidnapped, because I cannot wait for their enemies to lovers arc!

Sofia has been pulled out of her isolation and being made to accompany Ryshi locate Levet the gargoyle that is always getting himself into dangerous situations. Unfortunately his aunts Bertha and shown up with Hades demanding that he be found. Their was so many different parts of this story that I really enjoyed . Sofia and Ryshi’s background and future relationship, Levet and his queen, then their is Bertha and Hades. Their is so much to enjoy.

Epic adventure with a cast of vampires, jinn, gargoyles, minotaur, and not to forget a few gods in the mix. Action and a bit of tense romance round out for a fun read.

I received this ARC for an honest review. I like this series because Alexandra Ivy always introduce new characters while keeping the much loved characters.
This story is about Sofie and Ryshi. The Anasso, Stix, told Sofie she had to find Levet with the help of Ryshi. Ryshi is imprisoned in Stix’s dungeon and Sofie is responsible for his imprisonment. Sofie has an unusual talent that she can leash someone’s mind to hers and they can’t leave her.
What Stix and Sofie don’t know that Ryshi got himself imprisoned on purpose. Why? You have to find out by reading the book.
I enjoy this series. Alexandra Ivy is good at world building and keeping the series interesting.

3 stars - I liked it

When Levet is kidnapped by Minotaurs and taken to their labyrinth, Styx tasks Sophie and Ryshi to infiltrate the labyrinth and rescue Levet. While Sophie tries to keep her defense up around Ryshi, she quickly finds herself falling for him and his charm.

These two were a cute couple. I really liked Ryshi. Ryshi is half-jinn, half-imp and very charming and sneaky. He is in Styx’s prison because he infiltrated multiple vampire lairs and was eventually caught. I loved how Ryshi knew almost instantly that he wanted to be with Sophie and just worked to break down her barriers while they dealt with all the magical traps in the minotaur kingdom. I always love when a man falls first and hard. Ryshi was very charming but is also very good at hiding his pain. I enjoyed seeing him open up to Sophie, because it helped heal them both.

“They call me a thief, but you’re the one who stole my heart.”

Sophie was a fascinating and badass heroine with a very deadly ability. Because of her ability she has basically hidden away from the world for fear of hurting someone. Working with Ryshi has made her realize how lonely she has become. I enjoyed watching Sophie open up to Ryshi and realize she wanted love and happiness. Their relationship was sweet because they both were trying very hard to protect each other from magical traps.

The overarching story was very interesting. The minotaur's and their world was a new aspect of this universe that was interesting to explore. Levet as usual was fun and was for once the voice of reason. I did enjoy him putting the minotaur's in their place. Overall, this was another enjoyable addition to this series. I am excited to see what will happen next.
