Falling in love with your high school nemesis? Cynic turned romantic? Deciding to break some rules and do what makes you happy? Check. Check. Check. Wonderful book, really enjoyed!

Intentionally single pals Margo and Jo have created a podcast and a brand around staying single forever. Seven Rules For Breaking Hearts became wildly popular as “Go and Jo” detailed their lives and exploits in not really dating dating. But when Jo breaks all of the rules and is getting married, it’s up to Go to salvage the brand while also serving as maid of honor and confronting her high school nemesis Declan Walsh during the two week destination wedding on Catalina Island.
I really enjoyed this enemies to lovers, high school crush second chance romance. The story is told through Margo’s first person perspective with interspersed texts, emails, podcast transcripts, social media posts and comments. The central conflict and Margo working to remedy it was really well done. I could feel her palpable hurt and frustration with the situation. Declan was charming and sweet, and his confession of having crushed on Margo in high school was adorable. I was really rooting for them to figure out a way to be together after their totally justified break up and I was satisfied with the conclusion.
Perfect for romance readers who love: forced proximity, high school crush confessions, high school nemesis turned to adult love interests, personal growth for the main character, open door but non explicit love scenes, searching for buffalo on Catalina Island 🦬

This book was a quick, cute, and sexy read that I devoured in about a day and a half. It's a classic enemies to lovers, and he falls first. Without giving anything away, the chemistry between the two was unmatched. The majority of the book spans about 2 weeks so it's a quick relationship but that's how it is with most romcoms. I love the real-ness of Margo as she's at a difficult point in her life so reading from her perspective made me feel for her. Now let's get to the best part; the MMC. Declan is just too delicious. He's described as a softie and super good looking, and obviuosly fell first (best trope). This would be a perfect beach read.

I adored this historical romcom! I always forget how much I love historical romance when I’m not reading them. This was a great reminder for me to pick up more of them.
Viscount Penvale has been working his whole adult life to be able to buy back his family home that was lost to him as a child. His uncle is finally willing to sell…on one condition. Penvale must marry his uncle’s ward, Miss Jane Spencer.
Jane Spencer is sick of being passed around from man to man like property. Threthwick Abbey is the first place that has truly felt like home to Jane and she’s not above a little bit of trickery to get the estate all to herself. She got rid of one male…she can get rid of another.
This follows Jane and Penvale as they adjust to married life with the little added mix of a ghost..
This was funny and I loved how Jane was not at all the proper London lady but was finally accepted by her new husband and his friends.
This is the first book I’ve picked up by @marthabwaters but you can bet I will be picking up her whole backlist!
Thank you @netgalley for this ARC in exchange for an honest review! It was most enjoyable ❤️

I really enjoyed this book. The characters were well developed and the pacing was very good. I’d give it 🌶️ 🌶️ 🌶️ on the spice scale, but many people may think it a bit spicier than my rating. What spice was there felt authentic and 🔥. The chemistry was great between Margo and Declan, and I liked how we got to see some of the characters’ flaws. And I mean real flaws, not flaws that aren’t really or are surface level (like being a workaholic but wildly successful, or TOO empathetic. Don’t get me wrong, I like those kinds of books too. They’re great fun. But it was nice to have a HEA mixed in with people who I felt were real, people that I would know.
I stayed up way too late reading this last night, and I had to come home and finish it today. Lovely read. I’d definitely read this author again.

This was an enjoyable slow burn rom-com! The characters were pleasant to get to know, The plot was your typical “girl hates boy but they’re both attracted to each other” type of situation with an ending where you know they’ll end up together. However, it’s the build-up of between the characters and the antics of each of them that makes this story fun.

A very fun debut! The characters in this story were well-developed and I really bought into the will they, won't they element. Kristyn Miller's writing is unique and draws the reader in instantly.
If you're a fan of books about podcasters, enemies to lovers, second chances and/or wedding shenanigans, definitely check this one out!
Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for an advanced copy.

This book is a quick, cute rom-com read. It is predictable, but not in a bad way. If you like not-too-spicy romances, this book might be for you. While the book was not smut, there was a lot of sexual inuendoes and the main character is sex positive, therefore there is a lot of sex present in the book. I personally liked the jokes,, but it may not be for everyone. At first, I really didn't like the protagonist (Margo ''Go'') as she seemed immature and self-absorbed, but there is a great character development.
The premise reminded me of ''How to lose a guy in 10 days''. If you are in need of a beach read, then you should give this debut a read ! I will probably read the next books Kristyn J. Miller publish.
Last comment and SPOILER.

I am glad they didn't get married by the end of the book. This kept their relationship realistic.

Thank you to St. Martin's Press and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read an advanced copy of SEVEN RULES FOR BREAKING HEARTS.
This novel is about two best friends since childhood. They also work together as podcasters. They also have a huge social media. The narrator, Margo, aka Go, is the narrator and she is surprised when her bestie Jo announced that she is getting married. During the destination wedding, Go is reunited with many people who knew in high school, including the class clown.
This new to me author's writing style was easy for me to read, though the characters did not grab my attention.
Highly recommended for younger readers in their twenties. This is a modern romcom with current issues like cyberbullying .

Blurb:
Margo Anderson is sworn off commitment. Alongside her best friend, Jo, she runs a viral podcast featuring rules for hooking up without catching feelings. So when Jo surprises her by deciding to get married and taking up a sponsor’s offer to host an all-expenses-paid wedding trip on Catalina Island, they have the whole internet to answer to.
What a fun and cute debut! An enjoyable enemies to lovers romance with great banter, a little spice, and a dreamy setting. I really enjoyed Declan and Margo’s story as well as the friendship between her and Jo. Seeing everyone’s growth throughout the story was great and the behind the scenes look at the podcasting/influencer life was rather interesting.
What I enjoyed;
🏝️ Podcast/Influencer Aspects
🏝️ Enemies to Lovers
🏝️ LOL Banter
🏝️ Likable Characters
If you’re in the mood for a lighthearted love story, add this one to your list. It will make a great beach read.

For a debt novel, this was well done. The characters were well developed and generally all likable. It took me a while to get on board with the main character, Margo; she was so resistant to everyone and everything around her. It was a little off putting for her to hold so much resentment for so many chapters, but she came around and so did I. Fun little beach read

Aw this was a cute and fun read! I really enjoyed Declan and Margo’s story. It was lighthearted for the most part, and really sweet. Declan was an adorable character and I loved his sweetness.
Margo’s growth through the novel was great. And clear.

Adorable contemporary romance/ romantic comedy, with slight enemies to lovers but he's secretly been in love with her since high school. This was such a cute and short read, was it slightly predictable...yes but isn't that part of the charm with this genre of books.
Light Spice
Great characters, likable and funny
Love the message about social media pressure
Likable relationships and overall story.

My first book by Kristyn Miller and I will be looking out for more. I really like her style of writing
Seven Rules for Breaking Hearts is well-written and highly entertaining. Margo, a famous podcaster, has sworn off commitment for the sake of her show’s content but she is thrown off when she starts to catch feelings for a nemesis from her past. This book is full of all that I look for in a romantic comedy - witty banter, slow-burn, emotional development and lovable and relatable characters. The book is also spicy, but in a very tasteful way. I am putting Kristyn Miller on my list of authors to watch. I have a feeling she might be a favorite!
Thank you NetGalley and St. Martins Press for the ARC. I highly recommend!

Friends to lovers as influencers break their own rules and create a fake dating scenario that turns out not to be so fake after all.
If you follow you -tubers and influencers on social media you will probably like this book. The friends to lovers trope is pretty basic here and the characters are somewhat witty. Overall, I 've read better rom-coms but appreciate the opportunity to review this book and receive the ARC

Seven Rules for Breaking Hearts by Kristyn Miller was such a cute read. I enjoyed the story of Jo and Go and their friendship along with their respective relationships.
I found Margo and Declan’s story to be really sweet. I loved Declan’s wholesome vibe and how he brought Margo down to earth.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC of this book. 4 stars.

4.5 stars!! Thanks to NetGalley for letting me read an early copy of this in exchange for an honest review! I really liked this whole story. The writing was clear and so fun to get to know all the characters! However, there were some characters whom I was really confused about why they were there, hence the .5 star. Overall a fun and cute summer or spring break read!

Seven Rules for Breaking Hearts is a super unique, escapist romance that will have you wishing for a trip to Catalina.
Margo is an influencer with a popular podcast about keeping your feelings out of your dating life, and her best friend and co-host has just broken the biggest rule of them all by getting engaged to a man she fell in love with. Not only is Margo faced with what that means for the future of their gig, but she's also forced to examine the rules she's been living life by up until now and how much of her brand has influenced her real life. What a unique hook!
I was drawn in immediately by the influencer lifestyle that Margo leads, and when she meets back up with her HS nemesis on this wedding week in Catalina, I knew the setting was going to make for a fabulous romance. Declan is just plain swoony. I love when the MMC is just a solid, good dude, and Declan was that and more. Margo and her rules never stood a chance. This book has it all: high stakes, a flawed FMC who learns a whole lot about herself, lots of atmospheric and fun scenes while these two explore their feelings, and even a little mystery. You'll feel like you're getting a free vacation and you'll love rooting for these two. Highly enjoyable read!
I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley. Thanks to the publisher and author for letting me read it early! I can't wait to have it on my shelf.

Unfortunately this book wasn’t for me. I had high hopes going into this book, but it wasn’t very enjoyable. I didn’t love Margo or Declan; I have to like the main characters in order to really love a book and that just didn’t happen. I also thought the podcast was a little silly and because of that, it was hard to read since the book was centered around the premise of the podcast.

Witty, funny, lighthearted and you will not be able to put it down! Margo feels like her life is spiraling out of control when Jo decides she’s going to get married. Add to that the mixed feelings and emotions that Declan her old High School “frenemy” is making her feel and you get this awesome book!
The conversations between Margo and Declan were my favorite part of this book, I felt like I was there. I am a California native, and enjoyed reading a book with cities that I am familiar with as the setting.
Margo and Declan go from “hate” to love, even though Margo seemed to be the only one aware of this “hate”, they complement each other, and make this a truly amazing book.
I would not mind following Margo and Declan in their love adventure.
