The romantic suspense books by Nora Roberts are always a must-read for me. This one was no exception. It had all the thrill, mystery, and suspense I could want but also the sweetness of the relationship between Morgan and Miles. It also was very modern dealing with the very real problem of identity theft. This was a great one!

I absolutely love Nora Roberts books! This one is no exception! This romantic suspense pulled me in from the first page!

Morgan was happily living her life working 2 jobs, saving to start her own business when she meets a hunky IT guy (Luke) at the bar where she was working. Little does she know her world is going to be turned upside down! He is a scam artist who steals identities and then kills that person. But he made a mistake and killed Morgan's best friend/roommate instead of her. With losing everything she moves home to live with her mom and grandmother. She gets a new job as a hospitality manager, life is good..until Luke finds her again!

This book has lots of twists and turns, romance thrown in there. I really enjoyed everything about this book…there were a few slow spots for me but it didn't take away from my love of this book. I loved the Jameson family and how they rallied to protect Morgan (even though she had not worked there long). The Nash ladies were fabulous too! I loved how their bond continued to grow throughout the book.

I felt so sorry for Morgan with losing her best friend, having to sell her house and everything else. But I really admire her perseverance and how she built her life back up even better than before (with the exception of not having Nina in her life).

I love that Luke got what was coming to him. How she got under his skin and made him mess up (and gain all the weight). Karma is a wonderful thing!

When you first start reading, you would automatically think Morgan Albright has found love at first meet. She meets Luke, and it would seem he is perfect. But he is evil. He preys on Morgan's life, nearly destroying everything she has worked so hard for. Morgan has to flee towards her mother and grandmother, hoping she wouldn't be found. In all the evilness, she finds herself in love. Will Luke destroy that as well?

Morgan’s life is destroyed when a serial killer murders her best friend and steals her identity. She moves back in with her family and starts rebuilding her life as well as she can. But she’s not out of danger yet – for it was she who Rozwell had intended to be his victim, and he’s not done with her yet.

Of Nora Roberts’s many author hats, I like her romantic suspense books best. They are quite formulaic, I will admit. There is a heroine whose life is destroyed by some awful villain, who returns to a safe place and starts rebuilding things and meets a hero even, but the villain is fixated on her and comes after her in the end to try and destroy her once and for all – and of course they always fail. Only the details vary. But it’s all so very soothing that I never mind.

Here the heroine is Morgan, a bartender, and the villain an identity-stealing serial killer. We have all the usual suspects – characters who are good at their jobs, close knit families, a hero who falls hard and fast. I enjoyed getting to know the small town and the resort that Morgan transplants herself to, and the Nash women are a delight. The villain is appropriately dastardly, and Nina’s death hits hard.

However, I did think that the relationship between Miles and Morgan comes a bit out of nowhere, and I would have like to see it developed more over the course of the book. The previously fragmented relationship between Audrey and Morgan probably should have been discussed earlier on, as it otherwise seemed to pop up out of nowhere. And even I became a little bored of the glowing detail in which we see Morgan craft new drinks and work on house improvement projects. Also, what on earth was Opal’s problem?

Nora Roberts is so easy to love. Nora Roberts is so easy to read. Identity is very on brand in this regard and I loved it. I was snatched up at the beginning and couldn't put this book down. The characters were fantastic, I wanted to know the ending. It was great. The setting was lovely!

This book kept me on the edge of my seat. Had me cringing at the main character and rooting for her all at the same time. Worth the read.

My first Nora Roberts… and I enjoyed it! Can’t believe it took so long for me to read one of her books. The suspense had me… I kept thinking the killer was going to show up at every turn. There was just enough to keep me guessing and on my toes. Loved Morgan’s character and her relationship with “her girls” — we love a multigenerational family. Also loved the romance. Romance thriller done right! Kind of guessed the end but it’s alright!

Morgan was such a strong character with all she endured. The resort setting was great and the family the perfect employers. A good thriller that will keep you turning the pages with suspense as to how the killer will be caught. Another winner by Roberts.

I loved this story of an identity theft victim who took control of her life, started over, found love then finally got justice for the crimes committed against her. I enjoyed the characters and the romance.

Morgan Albright has lived a transient life as a military brat, but has finally lifted herself up on her own and is finally feeling settled and happy. She has her own little home, a great roommate, and a job that pays the bills. But after her first dinner party, her life as she knows it is over. When she comes home to find her sweet friend and roommate dead, everything falls apart- especially once she realizes she might be the reason her friend is dead. A cold-blooded killer had targeted her and she was supposed to be his victim. She becomes “the one that got away,” which puts her in danger. She chooses to move back to Vermont with her mother and grandmother and start over there. It takes time, but she creates a new life, only to have the killer come knocking again.

Quite the suspense in this one. We never knew when or where the killer, Luke, would show up. I guessed the ending, but the build-up of the mystery and love interest were great.

This was such an intriguing read! I enjoyed every moment of it. I really liked the way the author developed the plot. I thought the characters were very well developed and I felt like I really knew each one. I loved how Morgan's story developed! I also liked that it was a multiple perspective book. I found the serial killer perspective interesting. It brought a lot to the story.

This story follows Morgan a former army brat who settles down in Baltimore with a friend. They decide to have a party where Morgan flirts away with a fun, witty IT guy. Who turns out not to be exactly who he says he is. Morgan must put back the pieces of her life. In the process, she meets incredible people to help her on this journey. Not only must she put back the pieces of her life but she also must fight to salvage what remains of her identity.

Nora Roberts has been a best selling author for decades. When you pick up a Nora Roberts book, you know you’re going to get something good. Strong, well written women who aren’t perfect, stunning locations, a menacing villain, and a happily ever after at the end of it all. I’m not sure how she does it after all these years, but Identity does not disappoint. Nora Roberts has knocked it out of the park yet again with her newest romantic suspense. I give Identity five stars, and recommend it to all fans of romantic thrillers.

As a shock to no one (and especially myself), Nora does it again. I have no idea what kind of magic she sprinkles into her books but they work so well with my brain and I love them so much. I would categorize this one as romantic suspense and that is something that I have really been enjoying lately. This story is captivating as it follows our MC Morgan and the nightmare she has to live with the serial killer on the loose. I found Morgan to be authentic and real which is another thing that Nora Roberts really excels at with her MC's. This was a 4.5 star for me rounded down to 4.

Even though this is your typical Nora Roberts, it's quite enjoyable and hard to put down. I loved Morgan's story and reading about "her ladies" and her dreams. Miles was the perfect man for her and it was fun watching their story unfold.

Looking forward to Nora's next book as always!

"Identity" by Nora Roberts is an enjoyable romance/thriller that ends nice and tidy. Its a quick, easy read that moves fairly fast paced. The author could have cut some of the tedium of everyday life of the main character and her bartending career. The romance does not have a lot of tension or build-up so its not as exciting as it could be. The characters were fine, but I could have lived without Morgan calling her mom and grandmom her "ladies" over and over. It was kind of strange.

Overall, this is nice fluffy book if you are looking for a palate cleanser between dark, deep thrillers.

Nora Roberts is one of my top authors, a comfort read when nothing else is capturing my attention. For me, this book missed that mark. I didn't feel connected to the main character, and the multi character storyline kind of felt disjointed to me. I still look forward to the next book, and am likely going to revisit old favorites!
