"Identity" by Nora Roberts is a gripping blend of romance and suspense that keeps readers on the edge of their seats. The story follows Morgan Albright, a resilient woman whose life is upended by a cunning identity thief. Roberts masterfully weaves a tale of survival and new beginnings, balancing heart-pounding tension with moments of tender romance. With well-drawn characters and an engaging plot, "Identity" is a compelling read that showcases Roberts' skill in combining emotional depth with thrilling twists. Perfect for fans of both romance and suspense, this novel is a testament to Roberts' storytelling prowess.

I barely made it through this one, but I wish I had just DNF'd. The chapters were waaaay too long. The dialogue was annoying. Parts were written in a sort of shorthand with incomplete sentences. The majority of the book was filled with too many mundane day to day details, conversations, and family meetings, that nobody cares about. The person who was speaking was not always identified, which was confusing. The "my ladies" thing? Ugh. Who talks like that? Just weird. And if my husband ever talked to me the way Miles talks to Morgan, we'd have a serious problem. The only part I enjoyed was the Gavin parts which took up maybe 5% of the book. I definitely needed more of that.
Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for this eARC.

3.5 stars rounded up for GR
I liked this one. I've read a number of Nora Roberts' romance and fantasy romance series, but this is the first thriller of hers I've read. I'd say this one reads much more like a romance with a few thriller elements than a true thriller, but I enjoyed it anyway. The thriller wasn't boring, but it didn't hold my attention - there wasn't anything unique about it really. I liked the romance story of a woman finding a new way forward after an incredible tragedy that she blames herself for.
I always find that Roberts' characters all sound the same, and that holds true here as well. I still ended up liking the characters - both the FMC & MMC as well as the grandma, who was my favorite.
A huge thank you to the author and the publisher for providing an e-ARC via Netgalley. This does not affect my opinion regarding the book.

"Identity" by Nora Roberts is a captivating romantic thriller that showcases Roberts' mastery of the genre. While the plot may follow some familiar tropes, Roberts' rich characterizations and expertly crafted suspense ensure that readers are kept on the edge of their seats until the final revelation.

This was my first Nora Robert’s novel, and I wasn’t expecting it to be like an episode of Criminal Minds! I really enjoyed it!
In a nutshell, Morgan has been working to build the life she wants, when she lets the wrong person in. Robert’s does a great job of setting the scene and having you get to know the characters. As a romantic suspense, I enjoyed the cozy, small town vibes and building romance, mixed in with tension that goes along with the suspense side. This was a pretty long book, maybe a tad too long, but I would still describe this as moving quickly. Overall, this was really enjoyable and I will definitely pick up Robert’s backlist!
Thank you St. Martin’s Press for the copy through NetGalley in exchange for a review.

Just as Morgan has made a home for herself in Baltimore, everything is destroyed by a con-man who burglarizes their home and kills Nina in the process. The FBI tell Morgan this is a pattern and warn her she is in danger as someone who can identify this man, who is known as Gavin. Reluctantly, Morgan moves to Vermont where her mother and grandmother live, and gets a new job and a hot new boyfriend. But she can't relax knowing that Gavin is out there and planning to come after her.
This was a fast-paced suspense novel with a melancholy aspect to it. Morgan feels terrible guilt at Nina's death. It doesn't stop her from beginning a relationship with Miles, whose family owns the local resort where Morgan works. I was a little turned off that Morgan is so blunt about wanting just a physical relationship with him but never fear, it turns romantic on both sides, just in time for a HEA once Gavin is trapped.

Good book. I liked the characters and the dialogue. The story kept me interested, so it was a great read as is every nora Roberts book. A good read

Having recently finished the previously published “Identity" by Nora Roberts, I am happy to have had the chance to read the Advanced Reader’s Edition e-copy; thank you NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press!
The gorgeous cover art and synopsis drew me to request this book. Unfortunately, there seemed to be very little thriller and far too much filler for my enjoyment of this long and drawn out story. An overabundance of “her ladies”... “your ladies”... “the ladies” and “my ladies” moments scattered throughout the text, had THIS lady more than ready for the final page.

This is my first Nora Roberts novel. I had this in my ‘tbr’ shelf for a long time but I kept skipping it & just could not get into it. I finally made myself read it (to be done with it) but I really struggled with it throughout. The writing is not my style. It was kind of repetitive which is one of my pet peeves when reading a book. The pacing was also off. It took a long time for things to get interesting. The relationship with Miles felt like it appeared out of thin air. I didn't get a spark or a connection, it just didn't work.
The book could have been much shorter. My main issue was that I felt no connection between the main characters. I understood it was supposed to be there based on what was said, but I could not feel it. I did like the concept of the story though. But this overall was a miss for me unfortunately.
Thank you to Netgalley, Nora Roberts and St. Martin’s Press for letting me read "Identity" in exchange for an honest review. NetGalley & St Martin’s I appreciate you so ☺️

This was such a good book! I'm a huge fan of Nora's works as JD Robb (the In Death series is my favorite EVERRRRR), but I haven't read much from Nora as....well, Nora! This book reminds me of why I should - the characters, storyline, romance, all get an A+ from me. 5 glorious stars, and I can't wait to dive into her backlog!

You can not go wrong with any book by Nora Roberts. She is a .aster of suspense and drama. I highly recommend books by this author and this one is spectacular.

This was a fantastic story! I just love reading this author. The story was well written and engrossing. I would highly recommend this author and book!

This book is in this readers opinion Nora Roberts best book ever!!!!! Nora Roberts has a huge collection of books under her belt but this one is my favorite standalone by her by far!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It had been a while since I had read a Nora Roberts romantic suspense novel and I was not disappointed. It was unusual to know from the start who the bad guy is, but the plot and characters kept me turning the pages. I really loved the family dynamic between Morgan, her mother, and grandmother, as well as how Morgan fit right in with the Jameson clan. The romance between Miles and Morgan was great and believable. This story was more than a thriller and also told a great story about having roots and what it means to make a home and community for oneself. I'm glad I revisited Nora Roberts as an author and will definitely check out more of her novels.

While I enjoyed this book, I kept getting confused on Morgan being Eve Dallas. She was written SO much like her that it was really hard to separate the two at times. I feel like it was a bit drawn out as well.

I've been reading Nora Roberts books for over 20 years. I'm always worried the latest read won't be as good as others in the past, but they keep meeting my expectations. I'll definitely recommend this to fans of her work.

This was my first Nora Roberts book and I am so excited for more! The story was well plotted and intriguing. My book club selected this as a bonus newer release discussion and it made for an excellent discussion!

This was what I expected from a Nora Roberts title—great storytelling, characters that feel like friends, and just enough suspense to keep you turning the pages. We have all heard stories about dating the wrong people, but this guy takes the cake. I will definitely recommend this to my family and friends.

Identity by Nora Roberts
.
Don’t be fooled by how peaceful looking this cover is, this book is a thriller! And it is a very suspenseful thriller because it is about identity theft!
.
Morgan has her life all together, until her identity is stolen and everything is taken from her. Including her best friend.
.
What I liked:
-I started the audio and heard January Jones was the narrator and just settled in because she is a FANTASTIC narrator, my very favorite!
-As soon as the identity theft started playing out my heart dropped. I think what was so scary about this book was how realistic that part felt. I was very panicky my first day reading it. I kept having to remind myself that I have no money and am a terrible target (you’ll be ok Stacia, they want money not books).
-I loved, loved, loved Morgan’s mom and grandma. They were such sweet and awesome ladies!
-Everyone who worked at the resort was awesome too! Which includes the Jameson family, I loved their family dinners.
-The way the whole ending played out was perfect and I was cheering for Morgan.

4.5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 This book really surprised me! This was my first Nora Roberts book, I usually read her books she writes under J.D. Robb (which I LOVE), but I will need to read more under her own name now too!

I’m always raving about Nora Roberts books because she is just such a master storyteller to me. Her characters and plots are so perfectly crafted. And she’s really been at the top of her game the past few years with her contemporary fiction novels!
Identity, which pubbed last May, was the perfect mix of women’s fiction, domestic thriller, and romance. The way that Roberts mixes genres is one of the things I always love about her books. In this one, our main character Morgan is working to rebuild her life after being betrayed. She finds a new chance at life and love when she returns to her hometown in Vermont.
The relationships Morgan has with her mom and grandma were one of my favorite parts of Identity. Roberts writes such beautifully complex family relationships and friendships, with all the ups and downs that come from loving someone.
