Thank you to NetGalley for the opportunity to read the ARC of Identity. I had read a couple of Nora Roberts books in the past and enoyed them. What I liked most about this book is that it had a little bit of everything: romance, mystery, friendship, and family drama. I enjoyed the Vermont resort setting and I loved the depictions of Morgan as a bartender - such an interesting choice of a career for the main character.
I enjoyed the story, but felt like it was a bit drawn out at certain points. At over 400 pages I think it definitely could have been shorter. Although I liked most of the characters I felt like some of them were a little too perfect. Morgan's mom and grandmother were cute, but their relationships seemed a bit trite. And it really bugged me that Morgan referred to them as "her ladies". Also I didn't feel like Miles' character was developed enough. I couldn't tell if had a dry sense of humor, was maybe a little bit shy, or if he was really just a nice guy. I just didn't really get him. And I didn't like the pace of the romance between him and Morgan.
Overall, it was a good story that kept my interest. I will definitely read more of Nora Roberts.

This book kept me on my toes. I couldn’t put it down because I was so interested in what would happen next. Great thriller from Nora Roberts, with a touch of romance of course!

I can always count on Nora Roberts for an addictive read. In the case of Identity the experience held true. This is the story of Morgan Nash and what happens when she lets a handsome man into her life. I really don't want to spoil with too much plot info but I can say this novel had me flying through the pages because I had to know if the "bad guy" would be stopped and how. Nora didn't disappoint. I have to say there are several violent scenes that I found difficult to read so I did the skim thing. As usual, the female characters are women of strength making them easy to cheer on. I enjoyed this exciting romantic suspense novel and recommend to fan of the author and the genre.

4.5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This was such a wonderful read.
NR never disappoints me, I really love the way she writes. Her ability to tell a story, the superb character development and how she weaves all the details of the plot together is effortless and masterful. Young authors take note.
I was truly impressed here with how well she obviously researched Identity theft...a very scary thing indeed in real-life as well as this novel.
There was so much for me to love in this book... especially Morgan a fabulous heroine (another thing NR absolutely excels at penning)....the way this story evolves from it's happy and upbeat start to the sadness and shock following Nina's untimely death and then to observe Morgan's struggle to slowly rebuild and get her life back on track while persistently aware that she still remains the target of a relentless, vengeful and disturbed man.... certainly kept me entertained but was also emotional reading.
This book was definitely a page turner for sure....not a short read either ( many..many pages) and the chapters devoted to our thief and killer further elevated the suspense and sense of inevitability that there would be a time of reckoning coming before all was said and done.
I loved the slow-burn romance between Miles and Morgan, all their late-night conversations while she tended bar .
For all readers of Romantic Suspense and especially Nora Roberts fans...this is not one to be missed.
Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read and review this book.

There’s a reason NR is the queen. It’s been years since I’ve read a NR novel. Identity makes me wonder why. I loved these characters and their way of speaking. Morgan is pretty kick ass in that she isn’t down long before she picks herself up and gets back at it. Miles was a perfect fit for her. I wasn’t sure if I’d like him at first, but he turned it around for me.

This book will draw you in with the well developed characters and then if you haven’t read the description recently, your heart will be broken when one of the main characters is murdered. But then you’ll be kept on the edge of your seat while the main character rebuilds her life. This book is part thriller, part romance. I really loved Morgan. She is such a great character: strong, independent, driven… You will not want to put this book down, especially towards the end. Even though I just finished reading it on my Kindle, I’m excited to listen to the audiobook.
Thank you NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for the opportunity to read this book in advance in publication.

Nora Roberts remains the Queen of Novels. Identity explores not only the public persona of a person, but fully delves into the inner strength of identifying who a person is when all worldly goods and identification are stolen through scams. Technology is the job of a serial killer, keeping him a cyber thief wealthy with an abnormal sense of power that soars when his carefully researched murders occur. Until he his easy mark thwarts his plan and forces him to kill the wrong person. From there his routine is skewed. Her life is in shambles of grief from loss of a roommate and all her worldly goods. Feeling weak and helpless, her return to the bosom of her mother and grandmother turns out to be the very move that gives her strength: strength in love, in confidence, in her own abilities to regroup, to start fresh, to rebuild her world in terms of family, home, career, and find her soulmate. Parallel plots are followed as the heroine rebuilds a stronger life and the villain unravels. A great read as the character’s motivations are explored in depth on the journeys each takes to bring all paths to a very satisfying conclusion.

I’ve read more Nora Roberts books than I can count over the years, and I’ve been feeling kind of ‘meh’ about them lately. But Identity hits all the right notes from start to finish. The MCs are likable, the supporting characters are fleshed out so well that I’d happily read their own books, and the villain is creepy as all hell. The utilization of multiple POVs, even for just half a chapter, helps to further pull you into the story. Overall a damn good book.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher.

3.5 stars. A gripping thriller romance from one of the masters. Roberts really excels with thriller romances. Morgan is a bit different. She's reserved but a people person; a hard worker; fiercely loyal. And man, that Rozwell is a real mother fucker. Just despicable. I loved the description of the houses and all the cocktails. The romance doesn't sizzle but it's lovely. Great ending, as always. Didn't love that Morgan called her mom and her grandmother "her ladies". It made her sound like a pimp. Thanks to NetGalley for an ARC

Years ago I read all the mysteries Nora Roberts wrote. As new authors came onto the scene I drifted away from her books, but I was thrilled to be given an arc of this book. Thank you Netgalley and St. Martin’s Press.
Set in Vermont, a palatial ski lodge, wonderful characters, a wealthy family, snappy dialogue and murder all in one book. Classic Nora Roberts! This review is my honest opinion of this wonderful writer and entertaining book.

“He wants to live in your head. You live in his.”
Identity was a suspenseful psychological thriller with well-developed characters and rich descriptions. Morgan was such a fierce heroine that was fighting to get her life back after a serial killer had taken her best friend’s life and stolen her identity. She’s forced to move back in with her mother and grandmother and slowly begins to rebuild her life and discovers a life fuller than she could have ever imagined, but the threat of danger is always just on the fringes.
“It seems to me that who you are isn’t some you had to figure out, just someone you had to dig out. She was always there.”
While the suspense in this story is dark and gritty, I felt that it took a backseat to Morgan’s development throughout the story. We watch her life evolve and see the highs and lows and watch her emerge even stronger. Her slow-building relationship with Miles was perfect for her and I liked watching it develop. Her relationships with the people around her were entertaining and I enjoyed all of the side characters. Identity was a gripping romantic suspense story that really delved into the relationships between all of the characters and showed the Morgan’s grit and determination to reclaim her life.

The writing style is not good. I couldn’t get past 10%. I usually enjoy her books but this one I just couldn’t get into because of how it’s written.
I would like to thank NetGalley, the publisher, and the author for giving me the opportunity to read this book in exchange for my honest review.

Identity started out with a bang but then went a little boring. If you are into the romance part it's good. The ending was just what I expected. It was a good story.

In today’s world identity theft is a concern that lies in the back of everyone’s mind, but Identity takes that possibility to a new level. The thief gets close to his victims and then leaves them without their privacy, their money, and their life. The chilling plot makes the reader view all new acquaintances a bit skeptically. Identity is one of the best books Nora Roberts has written, lately. As always, Ms. Roberts has an amazing ability to create characters so full of life that you wouldn’t be surprised if one moved in next door. However, Identity is one where Ms. Roberts also creates a deeper more believable plot without the conservative/Christian digs she sometimes engages. A solid read for readers of more complex romantic suspense.

This book had me engrossed from the start! The characters, while not perfect, were so relatable and real. Loved getting to know them. The plot, such an awesome combination of mystery, suspense, physiological thriller, and a big sprinkle of family and romance. Flowed seamlessly from scene to scene. At times a bit disturbing, but intriguing to get into the mind of a serial killer and his feelings of entitlement. Honestly, could not put it down once I started. May be my favorite Nora Roberts I've read. Highly recommend.

Morgan is a young woman with a bright future. She has moved into a neighborhood that she likes, is buying a home and enjoying life with her good friend and housemate, Nina. Then her world came crashing down around her. Arriving at home, she finds the house has been broken into and Nina is lying dead on the floor in a pool of blood. Then come the devastating news that her identity has been stolen and she has lost everything that she has worked for. She has no choice but to move back home with her mother and grandmother.
Roswell isn’t finished with her yet. He hadn’t planned to kill Nina. Morgan was his target. Nina just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.
So begins a terrifying time for Morgan. She tries to rebuild her life while looking over her shoulder constantly, expecting to find that Roswell has found her. The FBI is following leads but, just when they think they have him, he eludes arrest again.
Ms. Roberts has written a thriller that kept me on the edge of my seat until the very end. Perhaps the most terrifying thing about this book is that identity theft can happen to anyone.
I received an ARC of Identity from the publisher through Netgalley in exchange for my honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I more than enjoyed this book!
It had a great story with suspense, thrill, emotion and sweetness.
I would highly recommend reading this boo!

Thank you to St. Martin's Press and NetGalley for an e-arc in exchange for an honest review!
I very much enjoyed this book. It read very much like any romantic suspense novel Nora Roberts has previously written, but it is intriguing enough that it was still different enough to be enjoyable. I can't tell if this is going to be a series or not -- it certainly felt like it since it seems as if she was planning for all the brother's to end up with somebody.
As much as this is a romance story and a suspense story, it is also a family story, a generational saga. Also, lots of empowerment about women and living your life in this book. I wouldn't go so far to call it a "cozy" mystery, but there was something comforting about it. I think that is the way that Nora Roberts writes. It makes you feel.
I loved all the relationships in this book, between family members, between friends. She always writes those so well in her novels, and this one is no exception.
And while the topic of the book does veer darker at points, it overall is more of a lighthearted book; I would say more comparable to her BoonesBoro trilogy. The softness of the book in some of those aspects I enjoyed.
This was an excellent standalone book, and another hit in Nora Robert's catalog of books!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
This is a great romance book about the one that got away.

Morgan Albright is chasing her dreams. She is working two jobs, buying a house and saving for her future. No time to date until that one guy comes into the bar and makes a connection. In true Nora Roberts’s fashion, I was hooked from the her first date and in the same Nora Robert’s fashion I was not expecting the unexpected.
Identity kept my interested through the entire book. Nora Roberts built Morgan’s character that every woman can identify with. She is determined, goal oriented and looking towards the future. Even when life took everything, she kept going. In today’s society, it is so easy to be taken advantage of without realizing until it is too late. It made me change my passwords and install more security on my computer. Thank you NetGalley, Nora Roberts and St Martin’s Press for ARC in exchange for my honest review.
