Identity by Nora Roberts is a magnificently intense romantic novel constantly threatened by a identity-robbing serial killer. Morgan, despite life-challenging obstacles is determined to survive and with the help of family and good fortune proceeds to succeed while the killer does likewise. Once again Nora Roberts has a winner.

I'm a sucker for a good romantic suspense and while I love the JD Robb books, it's been a bit hit or miss with the Nora books...this one captivated me from the start.

I love love loved Morgan. She's loyal and loving and looking for roots. Her mom and grandma (or "her ladies") were some of the best parts of this story and I couldn't get to their scenes fast enough. Miles is all crunchy all the time, so of course that was awesome seeing him soften just a bit. And the Jamesons are an amazing family. I loved all of them.

Plot wise, it was glorious. The slowest of slow burns (on both the romance and the suspense) that kept ratcheting up the tension. I loved getting all of the POVs we did, especially as the story started skyrocketing to the finale. And yes, even that was perfect -- but not as perfect as the epilogue.

Overall, this was everything I could have wanted in a rom/sus and there's clearly a reason that Nora is the master. I can't wait to dive into more of her stories.

Nora Roberts always seems to have her writing fingers on the pulse of current events. In a time where digital identity theft is rife, her newest book, IDENTITY, is a timely tome.

When bartender Morgan Albright meets a guy who walks into the bar she works at one night, there’s an instant attraction. When they start dating, she slips into serious like with the guy. The only problem? He’s not who or what he seems. His name’s not real, nor is his persona. The guy is actually a con man, narcissist, and serial killer who digitally robs Morgan blind and winds up killing her best friend. He’d wanted to kill Morgan.

Bankrupt emotionally and financially, Morgan is forced to move to Vermont to live with her mother and grandmother. As she attempts to pull her life back together, the killer rues the day he didn’t kill her and plots his revenge.

Morgan gets a job at the local resort run by a wonderful family and starts to feel as if she’s getting a handle on her life again. A new job, a new home, and the promise of a new relationship have her seeing the light for the first time in over a year.

Until her killer comes back into her life.

This book was so chock full of twists and turns, I read it in one long installment because I didn’t and couldn’t put it down.
Everything from suspense to a slow-burn romance that just made me swoon, to characters that are, each and everyone, loving and wonderful.

Nora Roberts never disappoints and she hasn’t this time, either!
5 amazeballs stars from me for IDENTITY
Thank you to St. Martin’s Press, Netgalley, and of course, Nora Roberts for this wonderful sneak peek.

Wow! I just finished Identity and want to go back and reread it. You know it's a good book when you are crying as you read it. This is not a spoiler, but all through the death of Morgan's roommate Nina just had me in tears. You really felt Morgan's pain and guilt. Trying to do everything on her own only to have give up her home and her dreams to go live with her mother and grandmother. Morgan feels she has lost everything only to find everything she has ever wanted. The three generation of Nash women in the house is in itself a wonderful story. As Morgan begins to rebuild her life and find out who she is now, she finds Miles and their story starts. Their relationship is one of friendship and respect that builds into something more. I don't want to spoil the story, but there were several scenes that just made me tear up again. The story is very compelling. Now to go back and reread it again!

Oh, Nora still has it, folks! She sucks you in slowly while setting the scene, the desperation, the fear, and the hopelessness. Then she secures your interest with some new hope for a life, a possible love interest, and a bit of workplace conflict. Before you know it, you’re halfway through your time with Morgan and Miles, you can’t put the book down, and you’re wondering who’s going to do the saving, or if it’ll be too late. And trust me, the saving to be had is spectacular in its own right because strong women are her speciality.

Morgan, Miles, and both of their families kept me invested in what goes right for them. All while making me long for Miles’s siblings to tell their tales eventually. And while making me remember exactly why I love this author. She is still a master at the deprived mind of a serial killer, how he succeeds, and how completely he unravels in his bid to be top dog again. But she also delivers romance and love in a way that is almost unexpected, because Morgan and Miles had communication between them, attraction, maturity, and so much love.

I’m sad I’m done with this book, but I really hope to see more of this town, resort, and both families in the future.

As with all Nora Roberts’ books, I was hooked from the start. I knew there was going to be a twist but it totally caught me off guard when it happened. I certainly didn’t see it coming.

This story was a roller coaster of emotions; heartbreak, anger, love, strength. The author knows how to tell a story. I couldn’t put this book down. I started it last night and ended up getting back up to finish it. It was that good. I love her characters. They seem so real. This author is definitely one of my go to authors. I will read anything she writes.

I voluntarily reviewed a free copy of this book provided by Netgalley.

Enjoyed reading this book. Couldn’t stop reading it — had to finish it. Story of Morgan Albright a single woman meeting the wrong man and damage and heartache he caused. The story made me want to see what was going to happen next — didn’t want to put the book down. It had it sad moments with the loss of a friend but it had many good moments too and the character building of Morgan with the help of friends and family. I would definitely recommend this book to others.
