Another great romance by Center. She’s a go-to if I’m needing a light, easy romance with great characters!

you see, i should have known that I wasn't going to super enjoy this one since I wasn't a massive fan of the bodyguard, but I kept my expectations to the side as I started reading it. It just felt like it went on and on and on and on, and man did I just really not enjoy a lot of the side characters enough to feel invested in the story.

I did not love the storyline of this one, but I am such a fan of Katharine Center. She always writes the sweetest stories that are guaranteed to make you laugh and cry.

I loved this so much! It kept me from a disastrous reading slump after finish CC3. The beginning of the story is pretty heavy, but it gave a different level to the romance.

Sadie Montgomery may finally be getting her big break as a finalist in a very prestigious art competition. She has six weeks to complete the portrait she plans to submit when a necessary, emergency procedure leaves her with “hopefully temporary” face blindness. With the help of her neighbor Joe, Sadie explores some unconventional techniques in an attempt to create a show worthy portrait in time. While Katherine Center’s books are funny and entertaining, I like that she also includes a sentimental/serious aspect to the plot. Overall the story was good but I think the “face blindness” trope is being overused at this point. I think I would have enjoyed this book a little more if I had not already read a couple books using that same trope. It was still a solid 3⭐️ book for me and I look forward to reading more from her..

I foresaw the big twist but it was still entertaining to read the surprising revelations! This is emotional, inspirational and highly enjoyable, heartwarming reading that highly deserved my shiny five stars!

My first book by Katherine Center and definitely won't be my last! Thank you NetGalley for the ARC. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. A feel good romance with charming characters, a love triangle, family drama, and laugh out out loud scenes!

My rating landed around a 3.5 for this one. While I adored The Bodyguard, I felt this book lacked a bit from her previous work. The premise was unique, but the story was very predictable. I didn't feel like I connected well with Sadie, our main character, but I did love her best friend and best friend's family. This was a fine read, but I don't think it will stick with me long-term. I think Katherine Center's books are always worth reading, so I'm hoping this one was a fluke and that the next one will hold the magic I know she's capable of!

Sadie Montgomery needs a BREAK. But, as with all good stories, when that break finally comes it gets sidelined. Sadie is a portrait artists - and a damn good one too. She's even qualified for a major competition, but when she acquires face-blindness after an accident all of her hopes and dreams come to a screaming halt.

Katherine Center writes the most engrossing, immersive worlds for all of her books. The love story was, though in extreme circumstances, totally believable. The layers she built into the story were impeccably built. I found myself rooting for Sadie and Joe the entire time, hating (hating) her stepsister and loving the truly real interactions she had with all of her friends and family members (both blood and found).

Katherine does it again! Another five star review.

Hello stranger is a twisty, lighthearted, romance novel.

Thank you to netgalley and St. Martins for allowing me to read this one

A book that hits all the marks. A good paced book with laughter, romance, and the anticipation of what’s going to happen. And boyyyy what happened in the end! Loved every second of this book!

I truly expected more from this book since I feel in love with Katherine Center previously books. And this wasn't it for me. I wasn't vining with the characters or their chemistry with each other. That's something important to have when it's about a romance book. Honestly, I kinda felt bored while I was reading this book. Sorry but not sorry.

I’m entirely bummed to report Hello Stranger was just okay for me. 😞 Perhaps my expectations were too sky high after I fell hard and fast for Katherine Center’s writing in The Bodyguard.
When Sadie, our main female character has a seizure/subsequent brain surgery/and experiences face blindness, her shot at taking home the winning prize in a portrait art contest narrows drastically. She bounces between the sweet and helpful guy from her apartment complex (Joe) and the intriguing, mysterious vet (Dr. Oliver Addison) whom she takes her elderly, ailing dog Peanut to for care.
My kindle told me we didn’t see any romance or even the beginnings of connections forming until over 40% into the book. The pacing just felt off. Although Sadie was dealt a poor hand during the snap shot of this part of her life, she couldn’t get out of her own way to pick up the pieces and make smart decisions. The way she frustrated me kept me from feeling a sense of empathy for what she was going through. I saw the “plot twist” coming from a mile away at the very start of the book and the wrapping together of all the loose ends just felt cheap to me. I did however really appreciate the research the author for this book, as well as her author’s note where she shares the sentiment of wanting to reframe rom coms as “hopeful” instead of cheesy or predictable. This one was just a little too on the nose to get my full seal of approval, but I’ll pick up her upcoming book without hesitation regardless!

I adored this love story! Very creative storyline and I really enjoyed the characters. I loved Sadie and was rooting for her the whole time. I wish I would have picked this one up sooner. Katherine Center is an auto read author, especially now. Her stories do not disappoint. I can't wait to share this with everyone!

A lovely romance by Katherine Center, Hello Stranger follows artist Sadie Montgomery who must navigate a hopefully temporary case of face blindness.
Unable to paint, make a living, or recognize those around her, Sadie inexplicably falls in love!

**I received an advanced reader's copy of this book from the publisher through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review**

Center has become an automatic read for me, based on her previous book, The Bodyguard, and this book, Hello Stranger. I absolutely loved it!

Center has a way of crafting a female character who lives with an issue or a disability of some sort and shows how even with these factors, the character can find happiness and acceptance. In this book, Sadie has to relearn so much when she experiences a medical episode, and it is through her that the reader learns so much about her condition. Center does her research, for sure!

Highly recommended!!

Katherine Center is typically an author I enjoy a lot, but this missed the mark for me. It's an interesting concept for sure, but I wasn't feeling the romance and didn't buy into it.

Things we Save in a Fire will forever have my heart. <3
