Unfortunately, this book just isn't for me. The title is slightly misleading, as neither character is actually stranded anywhere. The characters themselves I just also didn't totally believe together.

🌊 Review: Tripwrecked by A. Poland 🌊

There’s a lot to enjoy in Tripwrecked, from the queer found family vibes to the sweet summery setting and fun banter, A. Poland gives us a charming little getaway with bright blue waters, a cute Airbnb handyman, and moments of humor and heart. I loved the concept. The atmosphere was easy breezy, and the supporting cast had a warmth that pulled me in.

That said, while I appreciated the individual ingredients, the main romance between Aiden and Finn just didn’t hook me. Both characters felt underdeveloped, and their chemistry fell flat. I found myself enjoying certain moments, especially at the beginning, but the deeper I got into the book, the more my attention drifted. It began to drag, and I kept waiting for something to reignite my interest… but it never really did. Aiden’s dynamic with his family was tough to read too, and while it added emotional depth, it also made things heavier without much payoff. In the end, this one, sadly, felt forgettable for me. 😴🥱

However! Let’s talk about The Wingman, which is also by A. Poland, and how I’m completely OBSESSED. If Tripwrecked didn’t fully land, The Wingman soared. I read it in one day, which is wild for me because I’m so easily distracted. It was unique, engaging, and impossible to put down. Seriously, I never wanted it to end. 💚

If you’re looking for LGBTQ+ representation (both MCs are bi), a single dad, a small-town setting, travel, and a touch of steam, The Wingman should be at the top of your TBR. A. Poland really shines with that one, and I’ll absolutely be hunting for more reads like it!

This was a fun and light read with plenty of charm, but it didn’t quite hit the mark for me. Aiden and Finn have great chemistry, and the Aussie setting is vividly described, but the pacing felt uneven, and some moments dragged. The mix of humor, heart, and swoon-worthy romance kept me engaged, but the story leaned too heavily on predictable tropes. Still, it’s a sweet escape with some memorable moments.

LOVE IT! I love a good vacation fling, and Tripwrecked is so fun and flirty! The pacing was a little off at times, and I do wish with a title like "Tripwrecked" they'd been at least a LITTLE bit shipwrecked at some point. ;)

A delightful, fantastic romantic comedy that had me laughing out loud constantly.
We have small town vibes. LGBT rep, adorable characters with a swoon worthy romance, and one thing I've always dreamt about but have never done. Travel to Australia.
I was a bit apprehensive at first with this story, because I was caught up in quite a reading slump, but it actually helped me find my way out, and thoroughly enjoyed the whole story.

This is a new to me author and it won’t be the last book I read them! They created a wonderful, humorous plot line and filled it with captivating characters!

From the start I was hooked and fell head over heels for Aiden & Finn! They were absolutely wonderful together!

I definitely recommend this found family story to all! Great job!

Aiden and Finn's story was just delightful. It was a bit slow to begin with, but once it got going it really got going.

I really enjoyed Aiden, and loved that he walked away from those who did him wrong - just wish he told them where to shove it earlier in the story.

As it is winter here at the moment, it had me daydreaming of warmer climes.

It is hard when you pick up a new author as to whether you will like it, and I am happy to say there are no regrets here!

After Aiden's life falls apart, he figures the best way to pick himself up is a spur of the moment holiday to Australia from Ireland. Aiden is determined to use this time to find himself and he finds someone repairing the sink of his AirBnB upon arrival.

All 6"0 of a handsome man whose name he fails to get. Come to find out, the man is the brother of Aiden's host. Through Finn, Aiden not only finds himself but also learns the true importance of family. Aiden has an impact on Finn's family and that is returned to Aiden tenfold.

Definitely a must read for anyone who enjoyed Red, White, and Royal Blue and Heartstopper.

This book was an easy, fun read. A perfect beach book. I really liked that the book covered serious topic while holding unto a lot of humor and heart. Also has a found family which is my FAVORITE trope. Definitely recommend!

There is a lot to like in this book. I really felt for Aiden, and it was fun watching him fall in love with Finn and Australia. I love the small town found family elements of the story, as well as just how adorkable Aiden is.

Most reviews talk about the slow pacing of the book, and I agree that the pacing is a bit off, but I liked the romance enough to stick with it. I think this is a good beach read rather than a page turner, but if you want to read a somewhat awkward vacation romance, I think this is worth the read.

I haven’t heard anyone talk about this book, but I went on a whim and read it. The premise sounded so interesting and I love a good Australian story. This book gave me a cozy vacation vibe.

I loved the characters so much. Aiden took a vacation to Australia - which was very needed with his family issues and terrible ex. Finn is a single Aussie father and I loved his character so much.

This was a very light m/m romcom. There weren’t many “steamy” scenes - it was more closed-door scenes. However, I enjoyed the romantic chemistry between our two MCs. I also really liked the side characters.

This book was a lot shorter than I thought it was. I found myself so entertained by the story and flew through it. The writing style was also super easy to get into.

My only issue was the pacing at times, it was a bit slow and dragged. It didn’t bother me as much, but at times it was an issue. Also, that ending wasn’t my favorite. It felt a bit unnecessary.

Overall, I enjoyed this book more than I was expecting to. I didn’t have high expectations but it was a fun rom-com. I enjoyed the LGBTQ+ rep with two bi characters and they were very likable. The setting was so good - I loved the spider scene. This was a fun lighthearted romcom!

This was a cute story. Sort of predictable but in a nice and safe way. I would definitely recommend it.

I loved this cute lgbtqia+ romance. Aiden and Finn are so cute in the little Aussie weather. It made my insides all tingly watching these two fall for each other. Aiden's family treated him terribly, but he found what his family lacked in Finn. I also loved Finn's single dad, tall dark and handsome vibe. Made me swoon over him too. The writing style was unique but I struggled at some points with reading it. The pace was a little slow for my taste at times. However, the idea and the overall book gave me all of the swoony, beach rom-com vibes I hoped for based on the title.

I am always on the lookout for new authors to obsess over, I mean, read. So I was super excited to grab Tripwrecked.

Tripwrecked is a super cute, vacation romance. It is a little slower-paced and glossed over smexy times, but still quite an enjoyable read.

Aidan decides to takes a holiday after some crappy stuff happens with his ex-boyfriend. He travels to a small Australian beach town he saw online. He got an amazing deal with an Air B&B and he was set to escape all the things. Enter Finn in a DIY disaster meet-cute, and well, my love for gruff male main characters is well-established. Also, Finn's daughter was a splash of real-life kid, not some fairy tale version, and I really appreciated that.

I didn't get a huge chemistry buzz or real connection between myself and the characters and I REALLY wanted way more closure on Aiden's end of the story but c'est la vie.

Overall, Tripwrecked was a light-hearted fun read with fairly low angst (there was a smidge of kid and relationship drama) and a HEA.

I will definitely look up/read this author again.

3.5 stars. Anyone who's wanted to run away from their life will sympathize with Aiden, who breaks up with his cheating boyfriend and impulsively buys a ticket to Australia for the holidays. The house he's rented turns out to come with a surly handyman--Finn, the owner's brother who is surprisingly bad at plumbing repairs, but looks like he'd be good at other things that Aiden is definitely not considering. As Aiden explores the small town paradise and makes friends with the local, he and Finn grow closer. But this is just a vacation fling, and anything between them has an expiration date.

The middle of this book dragged a bit, but overall the story was enjoyable. I must admit I had to skip the chapter with the world's most terrifying arachnid (definitely could've used a content warning!).

This is a sweet novella about finding your place, your people, and ultimately falling in love.

Aiden's life has basically fallen apart and he's run away to get some distance. All the way to Canlaroy between Brisbane and Noosa, in Australia. He's rented a house for a month and plans to make the most of it. He doesn't bank on an attractive, surly Aussie being there (fixing the sink) though.

Finn is a single dad, and doesn't have any plans for a relationship right now. Especially not with a tourist who will be back in Ireland in a month. There is definitely a connection though, and the two of them keep running into each other.

It was sweet to watch the two of them get to know each other and fall in love. I also enjoyed the side characters. I do think I probably would have enjoyed this more if the point of view had been different, but I'll never pass up the chance to read a romance set in Australia.

This story was a very funny light hearted read that follows Aiden Cole when he takes a break from his life and heads out to a house he is renting across the globe in Australia. There he meets single father Finn Schultz, who is overseeing the rental property while his brother is away. There is a spark of interest between the two that grows as the two spend more time together, but this is just supposed to be a temporary vacation for Aiden....

This read was enjoyable, especially because of the witty humorous dialog between the two main characters, as well as a set of supporting characters that breathe life into the story. I wished there was a touch more description in parts to make it easier to visualize, but might be worried that it would slow down the temp of the story, as I already would have liked to have had more tension/action in the story to increase the pace through the middle. If you are looking for a heartwarming, laid back, easy to read romance, maybe to read on the beach this is a good bet!

This was a cute romance. Aiden has had one bad blow after another and decides he needs to get away from everything for a little bit. He figures the best place to go is halfway across the world to a small town in Australia. He expected sun, he expected relaxation, what he didn't expect was a 6 foot, beefy single dad with zero handyman skills, but a heart the size of an elephant's. They instantly click and begin a whirlwind romance, but it has to be temporary, right? Tripwrecked was a fun, quick paced, queer romance with fun characters and a HEA. I'm hopeful that the author will continue the story, maybe with a visit from his best friend in Ireland who just might find love in this small town in Australia?

I did not like this book. I didn't really feel a conntection with the characters. The writing felt very rushed and hard to keep up with. The ending wasn't great over all I am sad I read this.
