The 10th book in the Lighthouse library mystery series. And it's the one readers have been waiting for. The wedding of our favorite librarian. But of course Lucy and Connor's wedding doesn't go as planned when a dead body shows. I highly recommend reading this series in order. Otherwise your in for a lot of spoilers.

Another fun and captivating Lighthouse mystery. Everyone has looked forward to Lucy's wedding, and it was beautiful. Not exactly what Lucy herself wanted, but fun just the same. But, before the night is out there is a missing guest, oh and maybe a body too!
As always the characters are enjoyable, the plot is fun and flows smoothly, and the ending was great. I look forward to the next book.
I received an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Librarian Lucy’s wedding is nearly perfect—aside from a missing guest and the strangled body she finds. Now, she must vow to find the killer in this 10th Lighthouse Library mystery. This is such a fun series and I look forward every year to a new adventure with Lucy. This story was so entertaining and had a great ending. Thank you NetGalley for the advanced readers copy for review.

This is the first I have read in this series and was looking forward to it as I enjoy the 'cosy' mysteries. Unfortunately I was not impressed and nearly gave up on it. Very soon after the character appeared in the story I guessed he was the murderer. There is a lot of unnecessary descriptive narrative eg. instead of saying Lucy made a cup of tea we were told that the kettle was set to boil, that the teabag came from the pantry with a description of it's previous use (the pantry not the teabag), that the milk was taken out the fridge and only a little was use. Maybe if I had read the previous books I might have engaged more with the characters but I really didn't care who the murderer was. Lucy's behaviour after she realised who the murderer was, was totally irrational.
Despite being disappointed with the book I have rated it 3 stars rather than 2 as I did finish it.

It’s a happy time for Lucy and Connor as they gather friends and family to celebrate their marriage. While the majority of celebrants are happy, Lucy’s soon-to-be ex-sister-in-law Kristen and her date, and Lucy’s Aunt Joyce and her date aren’t having an enjoyable time and both of their dates drink too much. One guest definitely does not enjoy the reception as he ends up being discovered dead the next day, having been strangled and dumped in a closet. How does a out of town guest get killed at a wedding reception?
The prime suspect appears to be Bertie’s friend Eddie, a professor, with whom she has had a friendship/relationship with for many years. You know instantly that it will not be Eddie because he is an integral part of the group, but what a twist that would have been had he been the killer. I think if you pay attention to the clues, you will figure out the killer. I couldn’t figure out a motive and was surprised at the end to find out why. I don’t know how the killer thought he/she would get away with killing Lucy to cover his/her crime, but if you are that driven to kill, I guess you don’t think too clearly. I feel like Ms. Gates gave us plenty of suspects to muddy the water as to who the killer was.
I don’t know how Connor is going to survive Lucy solving crimes in the future. Each case seems to bring her closer to death. I love this group of friends and family and with they were my friends and family. I really wish I had a restaurant like Josie’s near me!
Thank you NetGalley and Crooked Lane Books for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

The tenth Lighthouse Library Mystery does not disappoint. Lucy and Connor have a lovely wedding, a guest comes up missing, and then while searching for him, Lucy finds another wedding guest strangled in a cleaning closet. All of the family and friends from previous books are present. This book fits like putting on your favorite PJs, slippers, and robe, making a pot of tea, and curling up with a book for the evening.

Lucy & Connor are finally married & of course a guest turns up murdered, with another missing. This series keeps moving on, without becoming boring & predictable. The characters blend well & the story is well told. Thanks to NetGalley, Ms Gates, and Crooked Lane Books for the preread in exchange for an honest review. Definitely a cozy mystery series to be read & enjoyed.

Lucy is finally married, but now has to investigate to see which of the guests at her wedding is a killer. Another fun romp in this series. Thanks to NetGalley for the advanced copy!

This was an enjoyable and engaging book. I liked the setting as well as the characters. Lucy Richardson weds Connor McNeil in a ceremony at a church in their hometown of Nags Head, North Carolina. After the wedding reception, Lucy and a maid at the hotel where the reception was held, attempt to open a stuck cleaning closet door unsuccessfully. The hotel manager ends up breaking down the door to the closet, and a man's body is found behind it. What happened to Wayne Fortunada, Lucy's Aunt Joyce's plus-one at the wedding? Lucy attempts to solve the mystery, but her help is downplayed at every turn by the new detective in the local police force, Kyle North. Will Lucy be able to help solve the mystery? Find out by reading this book. I highly recommend it to other mystery readers. I received an ARC of this book from Net Galley, and the opinions expressed are strictly my own.

This quality of this series has not diminished over time. So many cozies get formulaic and stale but the Lighthouse Library Mystery series remains engaging and entertaining. I've enjoyed watching Lucy evolve over the course of the series and I'm loving her new living situation, even though I thought I'd miss her living in the lighthouse. Definitely start with the first book in the series!
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book.

I received this book as an ARC from NetGalley.
Lucy is back with a new mystery to solve. Her wedding went off without a hitch and now she is happily married to Connor.
The next day they return to the hotel for their morning after brunch with family and a body is found. Along with the dead body, there is a missing wedding guest. As the police department proceeds with the case, there are more secrets coming out and it leaves Lucy wondering if one of her wedding guests is a murderer.
Another successful cozy mystery by Gates is the perfect way to spend your day off.

This is the first of the Lighthouse Library Mysteries I've read, and I'm so happy to have embarked on this journey! What a lovely story of a librarian/amateur sleuth. When a guest turns up dead after her wedding, Lucy can't help but look for answers and help the local police department. Eva Gates had me guessing until the very end! Death Knells and Wedding Bells is a great cozy mystery set in the Outer Banks of NC.

Death kneels and wedding bells will be a happy ever after until a dead body turns up the next day. Lots of mystery as the victim is not well known by most of the people. Lot of twists and clues to follow. This will keep you reading until the end.

[Dramatic Sigh]
I am so glad I gathered the strength to finish reading this book. Took me a couple of days but I got through it. And I am talking about the process of me going through it because there's not much to tell about this book.

Lucy and Connor planned for the perfect Outer Banks wedding—and that’s exactly what they got. Aside from typical rumblings of familial tensions, the late spring weather allowed for a beautiful day, the food was delicious, and everyone had a good time, until one of the guests goes missing.
Somewhat catchy premise right? Factor in some supposed family drama, FMC is a librarian, throw in some Edgar Allan Poe references here and there and voila - sleuthing and deduction at its finest. BUT wonk wonk, didn't get any thrills, overly descriptive family drama that did not contribute to the story at all, 17 Chapters of overly explaining the house and the characters (some were just plain boring and did nkt amount to anything on the story) and one big flat twist 🙄 😴
I love me some cozy, small town mystery but if people can't write up an adult version of Nancy Drew then just don't. Please.

Set in the beach area of the Outer Banks this story focuses on a librarian determined to find justice after a murder at her wedding. Sift through clues and see if you cam beat the heroine to the answers to who and why, along the way enjoy the imagery of the ocean front setting and the complications of various family dynamics.

Setting the Scene: The much anticipated day has come at last. Lucy and Connor are married, but it was not without drama, family and otherwise. In addition to the usual characters, there is the wayward sister-in-law, a "free spirit" aunt, a missing professor, and of course, a murder. The challenge is not only to solve the murder but to determine exactly who the victim is and what ties he had to the wedding guests.
What I thought: I always enjoy visits to Nags Head and the Bodie Island Lighthouse Library. Lucy and Connor are delightful, and the colorful characters abound. As always, I enjoyed the bookish references and interaction of the library staff and patrons. However, this time out, the murder does not directly involve the library or books, and the victim and several suspects are as much a mystery as the whodunnit. Learning more about Lucy's family, as well as Bertie and the good professor, and solving the mysteries were all entertaining.
I recommend this book for readers of lighthearted cozy mysteries with endearing but interesting characters.

Librarian Lucy with friends and family have enjoyed her perfect wedding at Nags Head. That is until one guest goes missing and another murdered. The honeymoon must wait - Lucy is on the case

Welcome back to the OBX and the wedding of Lucy and Connor. What's a wedding without a few drunk family members, family drama and lets not forget a murder. I love this series. Just a gem worth reading.

An entertaining light hearted read with a bit of Murder Mystery thrown in for good measures around Rich Powerful American Families . #NetGalley, #Goodreads,#Amazon.co.uk,#FB, #Instagram, #<img src="https://www.netgalley.com/badge/358a5cecda71b11036ec19d9f7bf5c96d13e2c55" width="80" height="80" alt="100 Book Reviews" title="100 Book Reviews"/>, #<img src="https://www.netgalley.com/badge/ef856e6ce35e6d2d729539aa1808a5fb4326a415" width="80" height="80" alt="Reviews Published" title="Reviews Published"/>, #<img src="https://www.netgalley.com/badge/aa60c7e77cc330186f26ea1f647542df8af8326a" width="80" height="80" alt="Professional Reader" title="Professional Reader"/>.

Another great Lighthouse Library Mystery. At first I was a little disappointed the we were thrown into the middle of Lucy and Connor's wedding reception. However, as the story progressed I realized I much prefer the flashback style of viewing the wedding from different characters perspectives the author gave us when Lucy questioned them. It put a fresh spin on a wedding in a cozy mystery.
The book club is reading Poe. As usual the book clubs choice has some resonating themes throughout the unfolding murder case. Some more subtle than others.
