Just finished Recovery Road by the amazing Christine Feehan! I never really got a feel for Master in previous books and was blown away with who he is, his code of honor and his view of his role in their brotherhood. Ambrie was amazing, absolutely love her confidence in herself and as a protector of those she cares for. 5 stars for sure!

It’s nice not to feel alone. Thank you for giving that to me.”

Kir “Master” Vasiliev was burnt out. He didn't care anymore if he lived or died. Infiltrating prisons to get information on assassins wanting to kill Czar and his family had taken a toll on him. Master feels dirty, the throwaway that no-one would miss. While thinking about leaving Torpedo Ink, Master's given the assignment to rescue a woman that's being forced into marriage for her inheritance by Walker Thompson, a casino owner whose also into human trafficking, and needs money. Torpedo Ink can't allow that to happen, so Master agrees to put his name on a marriage certificate to keep Ambrielle Moore safe.

“I intend to give you the world, Kir, if you’ll let me.”

Ambrielle Moore, finance advisor and only child was raised by loving parents who were career military, so she knows how to fight and handle weapons. Now, she wants revenge against the men who murdered her parents. Ambrielle proposes a real marriage with Master, recognizing his inner strength and a man who can help her avenge her parents' death. There's immediate attraction between Master and Ambrie, and Master agrees to marriage after explaining the club's rules to her.

Master and Ambrie find common ground in what they want from each other and discover that they both want love. Master decides to trust someone that's not T.I. and begins to see that he has value and that there's a misunderstanding between him and Czar. While Torpedo Ink work out their problems, they're being watch, and a new attempt will be made to assassinate Blythe by someone from Viktor's past. Master needs to infiltrate prison again to get information regarding "The Russian". He won't go in alone as he uses his abilities to once again show that he knows the prison system, the game, the weak, the strong, and those who are truly in control. This is why he's called The Master.

Hands down this story is the B.E.S.T so far in this series.
Master has always felt like he basically was at the bottom of the barrel when it comes to his club. Unimportant, and worth risking. He has demons just like they all do but his builds with what he is doing for the club. The author gives us a great back story to learn more about this man.

Ambrielle has lived life in a cocoon I'd say is the best world. So what she walks into when she is called to her parent's home rocks her to her knees.
The decisions she makes may be out of fear and revenge but one thing I see from the beginning is her strength and her undying love for Master. She sees beyond his demons. And for once she wants to protect him not the other way around. She is one tough princess. His Princess...

We get the entire team in this story since it seems someone is still after Blythe and the kids. I love having the entire club in this story it made it even more enjoyable. Can not wait to see what or who is next!

I have been a fan of Christine Feehan’s books for years and her Torpedo Ink series is one of my favorites.

Recovery Road follows Kir Vasiliev aka Master and Ambrielle Moore and was a thrilling and entertaining read. I thoroughly enjoyed returning to this world and getting to know Master, one of the more mysterious members of the club.

Ambrie was smart, tough, and just what Master needed. I love how she saw who he truly was as well as the struggles he fought so hard to hide. Master was protective but not stifling and never failed to recognize Ambrie’s strength.

There are tough moments, but also moments of laughter, love, and family. The pranks between Jackson and Savage will have you laughing out loud and the connection between Ambrie and Master will tug on your heartstrings.

This is not your typical MC romance series; there’s no drug or gun running but there is violence and some dark topics, including child abused (physical + sexual) and human trafficking.

An amazing addition to the series and I can’t wait for more!

Master has a skill set slightly different than his brothers but he is burning out. So when they head out to rescue a princess will he see that she is more than she seems?
Recovery Road is the latest Torpedo Ink installment by Christine Feehan. I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know Master better. He is struggling and Czar isn't seeing it but Ambrielle does. She is struggling too but Master is becoming her world. Can she get him to see he is more than his past? I loved finding out. I loved seeing Master through Ambrielle's eyes. She met him under less than ideal circumstances but for all that she"sees" him. But getting him to accept that is her cross to bear. And boy did I love seeing her fight for him even against his brothers. I loved the addition to the series and look forward to more where Ms. Feehan will take us next.

Recovery Road is one of the best books of the series in my opinion. I enjoyed Master and Ambrielle's story. These two characters grew up differently but were a lot alike which I found that Master needed. He always believed that he wasn't as needed as the rest of Torpedo Ink because the rest of the guys' criminal records had been cleared. Watching him spiral when he got out of prison was hard and I'm glad that Ambrielle was there to help him.

The Torpedo Ink characters may come off brutal and uncaring but the care deeply just hide it very well because of their childhood. However, Master and Ambrielle's story is actually a love story and it is deep and it shows how much she is there for him. Master is there for Ambrielle just as much helping her recover from watching her parents being murdered in front of her. She vowed revenge against the man that killed them but Master and the rest of Torpedo Ink helped her in every way they could. I loved how Czar accepted her and knew she would be a great asset to them. This story was a great addition to the series and I highly recommend it.

This series holds an unwilling fascination for me. Every book I read I tell myself is the last but then I come back for more because despite the darkness I'm now vested in the characters. Given the back story of group, darkness is a given and yet this book is perhaps one of the best in the series given the story line, the gutsy heroine who will challenge all comers and a man who claws himself out of his darkness to embrace the light and love to the bottom of his heart.
Master is the numbers man of the club. He is also the only member who has a prison record and a reputation for going to jail to get information or assassinate as needed. Despite the closeness of the members no one seems to realize the toll that it's taking on Master such that he is at the risk of drowning and losing himself.
Ambrielle, like Master has the skill with numbers and investments. She has a happy life with loving parents and wonderful friends. When she and her parents become a target of a nasty gangster, and her parents are killed in front of her while she is being forced to marry at gunpoint, she embraces the darkness and teams up with Master and Torpedo Ink to seek vengeance.
As it turns out, Czar and his family are being targeted and the two investigations seem to be converging.  It's war and Master might have to go undercover into a prison again to seek the information that is needed. Ambrie goes to bat for her man even it means standing up to Czar.  Thanks to Ambrie, Czar finally realizes how Master feels himself as expendable.
I really enjoyed how the story unfolded.  Ambrie's character is strong and she's willing to battle on the side of right.  I absolutely loved the sneaky tricks between the club and Sheriff Jackson. It adds a wonderful light touch to all the darkness that is such a large part of this series.

Fantastic Addition to Series

This is another great book in the Torpedo Ink series and even though I usually don’t do PNR these books have become one of my favorites with the way this author delivers intense strong storylines. I always feel such a connection to each of these men and women. This is Master’s story and it checked off all the boxes for me for a book that I won’t soon forget and made it a huge page turner.

I highly recommend not only Master’s story but the other books in this series as well and I always look forward as what’s to comes next in this awesome series.

Recovery Road continues the Torpedo Ink series. This series is dark, but I have really enjoyed it and was excited for another story. Master and Ambrie's story is dark, but ultimately hopeful!

Master doesn't really care if he dies. He feels like being the one club member who didn't have his criminal record wiped clean means the club doesn't care about him. He knows that if he has to go back into prison for another job, it will be the death of him. Ambrielle was almost forced into a marriage by a thug who wanted her inheritance, but at the last second she was saved by Torpedo Ink. To keep her safe, she marries Master on the spot.

Both of them have feels for each other, and they really want this to be an honest marriage. Master has no self esteem left, and is sure Ambrie will leave him once the danger has passed. Ambrie isn't a damsel in distress though and she fights hard to show Master that he is worthy of her love. Their story is really powerful in the way it shows the damage done to one's psyche and how difficult it can be to repair it. I just loved these two so much!

Fans of CF and her Torpedo Ink series will enjoy this book. It was like a visit with old friends. There is some really hard, difficult and dark stuff in this book, but that is nothing new with this series. There is also redemption and romance along with humor and hope. CF keeps building this world & I look forward to what else she has planned.

I’m not going to lie, I wasn’t too excited for this book. I haven’t enjoyed the last few books in this series, but I’m a diehard Feehan fan. I’m so glad I gave this one a try. It’s one of the better books in the series in my not-so-humble opinion. Although all CF’s heroes are tortured alphas, Master was in a different league. He is the only member of Torpedo Ink that has a criminal record & the club uses him to take care of things in and out of prison. Going on assignment in prison is the last thing Master wants to do. In fact, it’s killing him slowly each time he goes back in.

Ambrielle has a gift with numbers & with money. Unfortunately her money has caught the attention of some nefarious people. When her parents are murdered in front of her, Ambrie isn’t sure how she is going to get out of the situation. She does know that she will do anything to get revenge on the man responsible for the senseless killings. When her parents murderer tells her she’s going to marry him, she will do anything & everything to get away.

Torpedo Ink has their eyes on Ambrie. They know she’s in trouble & they are going to help her get out of it. Somehow she has caught the eye of one of the biggest human traffickers in the business. Not only that, but they are going after Czar & his family. Everyone in Torpedo Ink is on lockdown until they can find out who is responsible. In the meantime, the only way to help Ambrie is to have her marry one of them. Master doesn’t want to be the one that marries her, but he’s immediately drawn to her & he’s certain that he can’t let another have her.

This book started off with a bang & just kept going. I loved their relationship & how real it seemed, no matter that they only knew each other for a matter of minutes before they were married. Feehan made it all work somehow. My favorite part of the book was when they go into The Floating Hat, which is Hannah Drake’s tea shop. I loved getting a little peek back into the lives of the Drakes. The prank they pulled on Jackson was funny as hell too. I found myself laughing, which doesn’t often happen in Feehan books. Overall, this is a good addition to the series & I plan on continuing to read it.

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Kir “Master” Vasiliev has given his all for Torpedo Ink by spending much of his time in and out of prisons as an assassin for his MC. He is barely holding on by a thread with little motivation to keep going other than his club brothers and sisters, but even that is fading. When Master goes on a mission to rescue a kidnapped woman, Ambrielle Moore, he is in for the surprise of his life.

Ambrielle is a successful investment banker and money councilor who catches the eye of a nasty mobster involved in drugs and human trafficking. Along with her wealthy parents, Ambrie is targeted by the felon who wants to marry her and claim all the family’s assets. The chances are she will not survive the honeymoon. When Ambrie resists, things turn very deadly throwing her world into chaos and heartbreak.

Ambrie vows to take revenge on her captor so when Master arrives with his Torpedo Ink crew, she takes a very unusual step bonding them together because she knows this man can and will protect, defend, and help her carry out her goals. Master thought he would never have anyone in his life to love or care for; he is determined to make the relationship work even though he believes himself irredeemable and too broken for Ambrie to stay past their mutual agreement to seek out her enemies.

Master is a tortured soul like all the members because of their horrific pasts. Ambrie has been raised to believe one day, she will find her soulmate; she sees that man in Master. Ambrie fits in well with extended family though like most of the mates, she has some adjusting to their way of being in each other business and where loyalties lie. There are some entertaining moments including Savage and Jackson’s continued feud and one-upmanship when it comes to embarrassing each other. In this eighth book of the Torpedo Ink series, I am pleased to say Ms. Feehan has not continued the stepped-up kink of the previous books although if Maestro gets his story told, that may very well change.

I received an electronic ARC from Berkley Publishing Group through NetGalley.
Feehan returns to the Torpedo Ink club with Master's story. In this volume, she shares one of the best of the plotlines. Ambrielle meets Master on one of the worst nights of her life. Her parents are murdered in front of her and she faces further trauma from the perpetrator. That night becomes her wedding day when Master marries her to protect her. From here, this storyline intertwines with those from the prior books. I appreciate her sensitivity as she shares the characters' backstories while not sugarcoating what their current lives are like. This one could be read as a standalone but works better if readers follow the series progression.
TRIGGERS: Violence, Referrals to abuse of all sorts

Another amazing addition to the series. The opening was surprising and everything that followed continued to keep me on the edge of my seat. Great chemistry and strong fated-mate energy. At times his "I'm not good enough" was a little much, but I liked how she committed and fought for him. And how she challenged Czar and stood up for Kir.
I thoroughly enjoyed it and am looking forward to the next book in the series.

TW sexual abuse of women and children, violence, physical abuse of women and children

By far one of the best in the series! Christine Feehan's Torpedo Ink series is raw and addictive and filled with passion, vigilantism and more heart than you'll know what to do with. The eighth book in the series revolves around Master meeting his match and the outpouring of emotions as his story lights up the pages. I really enjoyed his story and the passion his true love brings to his life.

Ambrielle has her world torn apart right before her eyes and the strength she shows in the aftermath showed the powerful character she was going to be right from the start. I enjoyed her very much and loved the depth she brought out in Kir.

Kir AKA Master has poured his heart into his club throughout the years, but he's exhausted and burnt out and really doesn't have anything left to give. Meeting Ambrie changes that.

I highly recommend this book as well as the entire series to anyone that enjoys a touch of a motorcycle club that truly is a family of special powered individuals who fight crime and injustice as each member finds their forever love and finds a way to carve a space for them in their world.

Recovery Road by Christine Feehan is the 8th book in her Torpedo Ink series. Refresher: At the end of the Sea Haven series, Blythe married Viktor (Czar). Czar is the president of Torpedo Ink, and together with the men and women he brought with him to Sea Haven they built their Torpedo Ink MC club in Casper, which is close to Sea Haven. Each of these members have suffered terrible abuse in their childhoods in Russia, being forced to all become lethal assassins; each still very much trying to find the light inside their darkness. They are all determined to protect each other, and also work secretly to save children that have become part of human trafficking, as well as pedophiles.

At the start, we meet Ambrielle (Ambrie), a successful investment banker, who was forced to watch her mother and father murdered, by an evil man and his thugs. The mobster was forcing Ambrie to marry him, and eventually take all their extensive holdings; but Ambrie, who is smart, tough, independent, desperately fought off the attack.

Kir “Master” Vasiliev, is a member of Torpedo Ink, and secretly finds himself burnt out, with his constant going to prison to kill enemies of Torpedo Ink, or find information. Members of Torpedo Ink come to Ambrie’s rescue, with Master helping to protect Ambrie. Angry and grieving, Ambrie is determined to find the people who murdered her parents, desperately wanting revenge. During the battle, Ambrie latches on the Master, and pushes him to marry her, before the mobster comes after her again. Master finds himself drawn to the beautiful Ambrie, and accepts her proposal, to give her safety, and help her get revenge.

Ambrie quickly learns more about the Torpedo Ink club, and meets all the members, as well as their significant others, as she slowly becomes an asset to the club. Master is enamored to his wife, worried that his life style, will cause Ambrie to eventually leave. But she has a mind of her own, helping Master find humanity within, and willing to stand up to Czar in protecting Master. Especially knowing that Czar may need Master again, with the threat of attacks from a past unknown enemy, who put Blythe in danger.

What follows is an exciting and violent adventure, as well as a highly streamy romance between two people who ended up needing each other. This was really a beautiful love story that captured our heart, as I ended up loving both Ambrie and Master, hoping they would stay together. I loved seeing all the Torpedo Ink family; the wonderful members and wives that we have come to love. The Torpedo Ink concept of totally being loyal to each other, and always protecting the innocents, made this such a great series.

Recovery Road was a dark, emotional and steamy story line, which I loved from start to finish. I found this to be the best book yet. Fantastic. Recovery Road was so very well written by Christine Feehan. If you enjoy this series, do not miss this one.

"I am a legend of a lover, a man for undercover" This had me spewing out my drink, choking as I laughed. It was such a well needed light hearted....well ok hysterical moment. Absolutely loved this as well as I loved Master and Ambrielle. My favorite read in the Torpedo Ink Series and my favorite story so far. Well, Blythe and Czar were close. This was also the lightest book so to speak in a dark series. A series that has a lot of triggers that deals with child abuse in all horrific manners as well as trafficking. In Masters story he is the only with a prison record, the only one who was never wiped clean, never had a clean slate due to his ability to get in and out of prisons. This book starts with him in a prison and what he shares on the ride home broke my heart. Ambrielle likes numbers and finding ways to help her clients save money, improve credit, you name it. She has an affinity for numbers, a gift from her mother, possibly both parents. Her parents were in the military and made sure she was raised with self awareness, knowledge of guns and martial arts. Shes called to her parents house they are murdered in front of her. This book pulled on my heart in so many ways, had me proud to be female and sizzled with honesty as well as steamy scenes. The red hat ladies, the Torpedo Ink Group, the pranking between Jackson and Savage and last but not least, Blythe..."Did you really think you could come into my home and threaten my husband and children? Sigh this book is a win all the way around! Thank you for the arc! I freely volunteer my thoughts and opinions! #Recoveryroad #torpedoink #christinefeehan #berkley #netgalley

Recovery Road is the 8th installment of Torpedo Ink series. This series deals with topics that can be triggering to sensitive readers and this book is no exception to that, although it has less triggers than other books in the series. As always, Christine Feehan does an excellent job writing a story that is exciting, funny, and intensely romantic. Ambrielle is the perfect woman for Master. She’s strong, brave, caring, and everything he needs in a partner. Master becomes Ambrielle’s safe place and he’s exactly what she needs during the hardest moment in her life. They truly are meant for each other. I really enjoyed the relationship between the club members and their usual banter, which is one of my favorite parts of this series. I’m excited to see whose story is next.

Another excellent addition to the Torpedo Ink series! Master and Ambrielle mesh so well together, one of the best couples in the series so far. Christine Feehan continues to treat the subject of severe child abuse and it’s effects on the adults those children become thoughtfully and carefully. I also really enjoyed how independent Ambrielle was. She and Master had great chemistry from the moment they met, becoming a team in a way many of the other couples in this series didn’t/haven’t. They stood up for one another. Feehan of course has written many couples over the course of her writing career and I’ve enjoyed every one I’ve read but Master and Ambrielle are special. Looking forward to the next books in the series!

Christine Feehan returns with another thrilling book in the paranormal romantic suspense Torpedo Ink series. The eighth book in the series features Kir Vasiliev, a man that doesn’t care whether he survives missions or not. Whatever the Torpedo Ink club needs, Kir is willing to do. He’s sure no one will miss him or care if he doesn’t make it back. Meanwhile financial planner and investment banker Ambrielle (Ambrie) Moore is strong, independent, and not willing to settle for just any man. When a gangster and his guards try to force her into marriage and signing over her family’s money, she refuses. They turn to murder. A grieving and angry Ambrie is ready to fight the marriage to the death when Kir and his club show up anticipating a helpless woman. However, Ambrie is nothing like they expected.

As always, Feehan does an incredible job of bringing the main characters to life. Ambrie is intelligent, a great investor and money manager, and unwilling to compromise on a man. Kir is lethal, fades into the background, plays music, writes songs, and feels like he is expendable and isn’t worthy in the eyes of his club mates. The way both of them were raised (very different) has shaped their lives. Each goes through a transformation as the story progresses. It was also great to reconnect with characters from previous books. This gave the series continuity and I enjoyed visited with old friends.

The story grabbed my attention immediately and didn’t let up as I rapidly turned the pages. There are two story lines in this multi-layered plot. Each is filled with suspense and danger. The author balances the violent aspects of the novel with the intrigue, romance, relationships, and some occasional humor. This action-packed novel features greed, cruelty, child abuse, human trafficking, coercion, alcoholism, death, friendship, romance, communication, and much more. Several spicy and steamy scenes are also included.

Overall, this heart-wrenching book has great characterization, several sizzling scenes, and plenty of action. Those who enjoy steamy and action-packed paranormal romantic suspense novels with compelling characters will likely enjoy this book. I have read more than seventy books by this author across multiple series. This one has the right mix of romance, tension, action, and thrilling storyline. I’m looking forward to reading my next book by this author.

Berkley Publishing Group and Christine Feehan provided a complimentary digital ARC of this novel via NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions expressed in this review are my own. Publication date is currently set for January 24, 2023.
