i read the first few essays with great gusto, but i found it harder and harder to pick up, and eventually i just quit trying.

Loved this anthology. I was super excited to come across simply based off the premise and all the possibilities of stories and wow this did not disappoint.

There are so many authors in this that there is really something for everyone. I'm walking away from this with tons of new authors whos works I must now read.

Each story is unique, and while some were more interesting than others (to me), this anthology as a whole is excellent.

I found this collection of essays hit or miss! There were some that I really enjoyed while others fell pretty flat for me.

I requested this book because the essays by Kristen Arnett and Torrey Peters caught my eye, but in truth this was a collection full of fascinating reads!

Wanting brought intimacy, vulnerability, and took the veil off so many important viewpoints and conversations. There were several stories after which I needed to take a break and really take in what I had just read, which I loved. I love when a book encourages that level of introspection in a reader. In this collection, I expected to enjoy stories by authors I was already a fan of, but instead I was able to find so many new writers I'm excited to see more from.

Thanks so much to Catapult, Counterpoint Press, and Soft Skull Press for the opportunity to read this publication ahead of its release on 02/14/2023 in exchange for my honest thoughts.

Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC of this book. I requested this book specifically because of how much I love Melissa Febos, and her essay was definitely one of my favorites. I liked the range of topics that branched out from the general theme of desire. Some essays I skipped, some were forgettable, and some were fantastic.

Wow! I very much enjoyed this. I was expecting a collection of essays on lust, sex, and desire, and while those stories are here too, this was ingenious in it's exploration of all kinds of wants women face today. Great read.
