Thank you for the opportunity to read this, i initially requested because Mother May I was one I kept thinking about long after I read it, but this ended up taking me awhile to get through I kept putting it down and reading something else instead, it was fast paced and exciting but fell short for me compared to Jackson’s previous work. It felt like there were too many stories going on at once and at the end I still felt left with questions about why everything happened.

The synopsis sounded so promising, and I fell for it completely. Actress Meribel Mills moves across the country with her daughter to escape a stalker, only to find out he follows her and is a completely unhinged human. Sounds good, right?

Wrong. Honestly, I should have stopped when they started calling him “Marker Man,” and again when Meribel started acting more like a baby than an adult woman, and again every time I spaced out, eyes glazed over because I was so bored…but did I stop? No, because apparently I like to punish myself. I was determined to get this off my ARC shelf, no matter what it cost me sanity wise.

The story managed to be convoluted and repetitive all at once. It was entirely too long for what the plot actually covered. The main character is annoying, and the way she treats her daughter had me rolling my eyes into another dimension. The multiple POVs seemed to be just thrown in randomly. There are too many background characters who don’t add to the story, but they sure take away from it.

This author had an opportunity to make a really amazing story centered around Honor, who is arguably the best character in the entire book. Honor is newly 13, on the spectrum, and was absolutely fascinating to me. Her viewpoint would have been a great way to tell the story, but unfortunately that’s just not what we ended up with in this book. She is featured more towards the end, but by then it was entirely too little too late.

File this under “should have DNF’d but I’m too proud” and let’s all move on with our lives.

Twisty and unpredictable, this was a great thriller that kept me guessing. I have read a lot of thrillers but this one sticks out for the fast-paced trippy story.

Unfortunately this was not one of my favorite books from one of my favorite authors. Normally when I read Jackson, I find myself laughing every few pages. This one was more suspense with a twist or two. It was good, just not what I was expecting. Keep writing Joshilyn. I’ll keep reading your novels!

Thank you #NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for my review!

Meribel Mills is an actress with a loyal following, but one of her fans has crossed the line into dangerous stalking. When the police in Los Angeles do not take her seriously, Meribel decides to move herself and her daughter to Atlanta for a new show and a fresh start. Feeling uneasy almost from the start, Meribel's paranoia sends her almost to the breaking point.

I am a huge fan of Joshilyn Jackson, but this book was a miss for me. There were too many side plots that the author threw in as a misdirection, but served only to muddle the story. Meribel's paranoia really did not come through, as she seemed just a little spooked and off her game.

Meribel acts like the heroine in a slasher film, the one that you yell at the television to get out of the house and not look in every corner. I also find it hard to believe that Meribel can sense people watching her, yet cannot comprehend the danger closer to her door.

In the ranking of the ten books of hers that I have read, With My Little Eye would be in the bottom half. That being said, I really like author Joshilyn Jackson, and I both recommend and look forward to reading more from her in the future.

Disclaimer: I was given an Advanced Reader's Copy by NetGalley and the publisher. The decision to read and review this book was entirely my own.

The stalker setup sounded great and what drew me to the book. And although some scary/weird things happen, the pacing was very slow. There's also a lot of POVs and I'm not a fan of that device at all. This was especially confusing because chapters didn't have headings to label the POV. The last quarter of the book did pick up and it increased my rating from two to three stars. I also liked the ending a lot.

With My Little Eye is about (Meribel) an actress/mother who moves from California to Georgia (her hometown) to start a new job and put some distance between her and her escalating stalker, Marker Man. Meribel’s daughter, Honor, is autistic and has difficulties with change, making friends, etc. Everything seems to working out (despite leaving her boyfriend, Cam, behind in CA) when the letters stop, Honor makes friends with her neighbor’s daughter and Meribel makes a friend. Then Meribel founds out the letters just got hung up with the move and Marker Man is still sending them. She can’t trust her ex (who has come to GA to win her back), her longtime ex from when they were kids and her neighbor, Cooper. Any of them could be Marker Man and the police are not taking her serious!

Overall, I really enjoyed this book. There was a lot of information and side stories going on. Multiple point of view stories can be had sometimes, if it is not clear who the POV is from. I did feel as though the ending was a little rushed. If you are looking for a quick thriller, this is a great choice!

Thank you to NetGalley, William Morrow Books and Joshilyn Jackson for the opportunity to read this book. My opinions are honest and my own!

I have always been a fan of Joshilyn Jackson. This novel is an interesting and an entertaining read. Intriguing characters with an involved plot which takes the reader on many twists and turns trying to identify a creepy stalker. A whole lot of drama throughout. A fun read!

I love Jackson's Southern thrillers and this novel is absolutely no exception. I appreciated the thoughtfulness that went into crafting the neurodivergent character: no tropes were relied upon and she was a fully realized voice in the novel. I adored the slow burn opening, the multiple POVs, and then that doozy of an ending!

Thank you to NetGalley, William Morrow, and Joshilyn Jackson for an advance copy of With My Little Eye in exchange for an honest review. I truly always enjoy this author, so I was thrilled to pick this book up. While I enjoyed the premise of the book, I struggled with following along with the plot and out characters. I still look forward to seeing what this author comes up with next and I would check out this synopsis to see if you would enjoy this one!

I requested this book because I read Mother May I by this author and I still think about it a year later. The main character in this book flees from one town to another to escape a stalker. She has been a tv show actress for quite some time and ends up receiving letters from a mysterious person. It starts getting more real for her when the letters include drawings of how he is going to hurt her. She is freaked when she finds out the person has been in her home even more invading her privacy. Jackson makes this exciting who is it easy, entertaining, and quick to read.

👀👁Book Review:
Title: With My Little Eye
Author: Joshilyn Jackson
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️/3 stars

I'll try this review as best as I can, considering I read this a while ago, and I can't quite remember it 🤷‍♀️. I read a lot of books! Sorry!

Basically, a child actress, Meribel Mills, is being stalked now as an adult. She keeps receiving letters written in scented markers, thus dubbing him the "Marker Man." Eventually, this creep finds out where she lives, and she moves from California to Georgia. Doing this causes a huge disruption in her daughter, Honor's, life as she has autism. Strangely, Honor develops a friendship with a pretty wild teenager who is a neighbor and a homeless woman. Of course, the Marker Man tracks Meribel down. There is a lot going on throughout this book, and it at times feels all over the place. There is a twist ending, which does help to pull it all together. Not too shabby of a thriller!

This was just an ok read for me. It was mildly entertaining but I never became that invested in the plot or the unlikable characters. The ending was a little bland with nothing especially memorable.

I was lucky to receive With My Little Eye by Joshilyn Jackson from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for my honest review and opinion. Joshilyn Jackson is one of my absolute favorite authors and I was so excited to read this before all my friends and family. This book is fantastic and I couldn't put it down. Do yourself a favor and read this right away.

Ok, this book was absolutely bonkers (and not the good kind) and silly for the most part…yet strangely entertaining. It was hard to put down…kind of like watching a trainwreck. The characters are all wack too. However, the last 20% was excellent, and the book would’ve benefitted by going on for a few more chapters. 2.5 stars rounded up because I was amused.

I’m so behind in my reading that I read this in July but quess I didn’t write my review. Thanks to Netgalley, William Morrow and Joshilyn Jackson for this ARC,and sorry my review is late.
I never miss a book by this author, so I was excited to get her new one. While it’s not my favorite, it was still a good read, I think it started a bit slow in the beginning but picked up as it went along, then never a dull moment, we’ll, for me anyway. A 4 star and one I’d read again to see if what I wrote in review still holds true. Yes, I have read Joshilyn Jackson books more then once. ☺️

I am a huge fan of this author. However this one was a little tough for me. It was confusing and all over the place.

I must admit, I've never been a keen enthusiast of stories centred on actresses being stalked; it's a theme that's always felt somewhat unrealistic to me. Consequently, it's a genre I've struggled to truly connect with over time. In this particular book, I found it challenging to form a genuine connection with the characters. The plot, which revolved around an actress facing a stalker, didn't strike me as particularly original. As a result, when the final revelations unfolded in the concluding chapters, I found it hard to summon any strong feelings one way or the other.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for sending a digital ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I really wanted to love this one. I felt like it was slightly confusing with all of the characters. I also felt the ending was rushed and disjointed once the stalker captured her. I did love the autistic character representation and the B list celebrity take on the book.
