This was a really cute “fake dating” trope and “famous/unfamous” trope. I thought the characters were compelling and the humor/small town feel worked very well. I never felt like the storyline was overly forced, which sometimes happens with fake dating.

I loved this sweet romance! I couldn't seem to put it down. I have never read any of the other books currently in this series, just dove right in with this one and loved it! The writing is wonderful with fun banter and characters that draw you in. The small town setting is perfect and (coming from a small town) so very true to form. The spin at the end while solved quickly felt believable and sweet. I can't wait to read more by this author and see what else she brings to the table for this small town and the people in it!

Many thanks to NetGalley and the Publisher for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

2.5 rounded up. This squeaky clean romance was just ok for me. I’ve read young adult books with more spice and feel like this could have been amped up a bit. Maybe one or two kisses were described and a passing mention of a bath. Considering the insta-love scenario created, there really wasn’t much substance to the relationship.

Very little actually happens in the book and I would have liked to have seen more character development all around. Although the writing flowed well, I just felt that there wasn’t enough depth to this one.

Accidentally Famous is sweet fake to real relationship between a famous Hollywood actor and a small town woman in Maine who restores old houses. A misdirected text, a ruthless manager, a cast of quirky characters and an actor who yearns for normalcy contribute to hours of reading pleasure. I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book from NetGalley. Highly recommend.

This was a cute read with some laugh out loud moments. I especially liked the variety of cheesy pick-up lines! The characters were well developed, the situations realistic. I appreciated the amount of research that went in to making everyone’s jobs plausible. I would have liked more regarding the make up scene as what was presented was somewhat abrupt. This was a closed door romance that fit with the rest of the story. An enjoyable but predictable read for a lazy afternoon.

(Jan 24) AZ Accidentally Famous by Marissa Clarke, 352 pages. Entangled Publishing, 2023. $9.
Language: PG13 (19 swears, 0 “f”); Mature Content: PG13; Violence: G
BUYING ADVISORY: ADULTS - OPTIONAL
AUDIENCE APPEAL: AVERAGE
Cassy (23yo) knows what she wants her life to look like, but her plans fall apart when her lifelong crush returns to their small town without looking at her twice. Without the man she always knew she was going to marry and the sudden appearance of reporters thanks to some hot-shot actor’s thoughtless mistag on social media, Cassy doesn’t know what to do. But maybe these mishaps are exactly what Cassy’s life needs.
While dramatic in this romance, I do like Clarke’s theme about letting your plans for life change. Not living out the exact life we thought we would doesn’t mean that we can’t still be happy and accomplish our goals. Sometimes reality is better than our imaginations, and Cassy didn’t have to change her values in order to adjust to a new outcome. Be yourself and enjoy life’s surprises.
Cassy and Jack are depicted as White on the cover, Dee is implied Black, and most of the other characters are implied White. The mature content rating is for alcohol use, innuendo, and mentions of drugs, lust, groping, and penises.

Accidentally Famous begins with Jack Winston's assistant Dee, accidentally posting to Cassidy's Instagram account instead of his sister's. Cassidy is thrown into the deep end with the paparazzi and Jack asks his team to help her out. Cassidy is a breath of fresh air to Jack, but how can a relationship work between two people that live on opposite coasts? You have to read the book to find out. This book is well written and kept me reading from start to finish without putting it down. I loved it and cannot recommend it more highly. Thank you Marissa Clarke and NetGalley for an advanced copy!

Acidentally Famous by M. Clarke, published by Entangled Publishing LLC, is the second stand-alone in the Hideaway Harbor series. The previous book is Accidentally Perfect, Lillian and Caleb's story.
This is Cassidy and Jack's story.
Cassidy, the construction company owner/ Miss FixIt, handywoman who never left her small town, and Jack the a-list movie star from lala land.
A beautiful story that had me from start till the last page. Beautifully written, beautifully thought and and beautifully told kept me this outstanding novel highly entertained, literally unputdownable. I recommend the book and the series, 5 stars.

A small town girl is accidentally tagged in an a-list celebrity’s insta post and the rest is history. This small town is genuinely full of a cast of characters who make Blink, Maine sound like one of the best places to live in. I also really enjoy the fact that there are not 50 random people mention in the book then never heard about again, because that drives me up a wall. Everyone you meet in the book has a special connection to Cass and/or Jack that it really bounds the book together even more. Additionally, another aspect of this book it does not lack on is humor. It had laughing fits reading certain parts because I never thought i would read the word “megalodon” in anything but a history book.

I love a good fake dating and this definitely was a great one. Cass is so driven, it makes me wanna pick up a handsaw and get to it. She is an absolute beast in every area of life she interacts with which is so nice to see that positive female presence. Also, Jack is just so compassionate about everything he loves and being able to eventually see that with Cass is one of the most beautiful things in this book. They definitely are two peas in a pod and bring out the best in each other.

Loved this book! The town of Blink is awesome and a quirky place I'd like to visit. When an actor accidentally tags Cassidy and intersection the paparazzi in her life, he wants to fix it, however, his vision isn't the same as Cassidy's way of fixing it.

I loved the characters and was charmed by their story. If you want a book to put a smile on your face, this is it. Put this at the top of your TBR list. The author is on my must read authors' list.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book! The fake dating trope is one of my favourite types of romance books. Especially when it takes place in a small town with a movie star. Jack and Cassidy couldn’t have been cuter together and I didn’t want this book to end. I highly recommend this book, 5 stars. Thank you to Netgalley and Entangled publishing for an opportunity to read and advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.

I love books with a Hollywood theme so I am thrilledNt9 acquire this book. I was also thrilled to find ou5 it was part of a series. Many more thoughts to follow, but my initial thoughts are that Jack was a great character I was picturing many different leading men in my head for this role and h3 meets the charming Cassidy whose small town roots win him over. Very cute and cozy read. It would make a great movie as well. I will definitely be checking out more books in the series and hoping for more to come!

Jack Winston may be Hollywood’s biggest action hero, but he’s seriously burned out. He can’t even save himself from his PR team’s latest scheme: dating a starlet. But when his assistant accidentally tags Cassidy James from Blink, Maine (wherever that is) on social media, the paparazzi decide that she’s Jack’s latest fling. Now Jack needs to do some serious damage control…starting with the adorable home reno pro in paint-splattered overalls.

Cassidy is not prepared when the Jack Winston shows up in her quiet little town—and whew, he is that gorgeous in person. Before she can pick her jaw up off the floor, his PR team is bombarding them with a whole new plan involving “fake girlfriend,” “optics,” and “sign this NDA” (whatever that is). But no one warned her that Mr. A-List Action Star is hot, funny as all get out, and loves old houses as much as she does.

Now they have two weeks to convince everyone they’re in a fake relationship—two weeks that will drive Cassidy’s reno business through the roof and help Jack reclaim his “spark.” The plan is going fine, dare she say, perfectly...until she discovers something that will change everything.
