I really enjoyed this book, it just gave me such a great happy feeling while I was reading it.

In this we meet Cassidy, she is a home renovator currently renovating a historic home in her home town of blink. One day no one knows her and the next everybody wants to take her picture!! How did that happen?

Next up we have Jack, he is a well known movie star that everyone loves. Thanks to a typo both of their worlds collide and life changes as they know it.

I loved Cassidy and Jack, they were both such lovely fun people who lived their lives fully doing what they loved. Who knew their lives were about to change, but change in a way that would make them even happier. They had such a great connection even though they only just met.

I adored the setting, it just seemed like such a beautiful town to live in and a town filled with lovely people.

Great easy fun read ❤️

Thank you so much to the author, the publisher and NetGalley for the advance copy of this book, all thoughts are my own.

This book was seriously cute and very fun. Famous actor, Jack Winston gets tied to Cassidy James but way of his assistant tagging the wrong person in an instagram post. From there it just gets better. This book was a fun spin on the fake dating trope. It was well written and hit me in all the feels. I wish there'd been a little bit more spice in this book, but that is the only thing thing I would change about this book. The conflict was perfect, and the characters were well developed. I want to thank Entangled Publishing and Netgalley for allowing me to read and review this book.

I loved Blink!

Movie star Jack Winston wants to slow down some but he doesn’t agree to fake dating another star just to keep his name in a the gossip columns. His plans went out the window when his assistant Dee accidently tagged Cassidy James in Blink, Main with a message intended for his sister.

Cassidy James was very happy trying to grow her restoration business with a few videos on social media when Jack Winston tagged her in a message. But everything changed when Jack showed up in Blink to make up for messing up her life by the accidental message because the gossip reporters thought they were dating. Maybe he could pretend to date Cassidy until somebody else was the front page instead of Jack and Cassidy.

I totally enjoyed Accidently Famous because who wouldn’t want to live in a small town where everybody takes care of each other and doesn’t change when a movie star comes to town.

If you want more about Hideaway Harbor and Blink, Maine you need to read Accidentally Perfect but each book is s standalone.

📖 ARC REVIEW 📖

Thank you @entangled_publishing for an early copy of Accidentally Famous by Marissa Clarke. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. 🤍

Accidentally Famous is a fake dating romance novel about Cassidy, a renovation business owner from Blink, Maine, who accidentally gets tagged on an Instagram photo by Jack’s assistant. Jack is Hollywood’s biggest action actor, and while he meant for his sister to be tagged on his latest Instagram photo, well, that didn’t happen and all hell goes loose on Cassidy as she was being hounded by paparazzi as Jack’s new beau. Jack and his team fly to Blink, and his PR and legal team asks her to sign an NDA and proposes they engage in a “fake dating” scheme, Jack gets to reclaim his Hollywood spotlight and Cassidy gets publicity for her business. But what happens when they get to know each other and discover that they are what each other is looking for?

I read this in one sitting – no, that may be an understatement. I didn’t even take a break while reading this novel. It’s not so often that a book would retain my attention so early into the book, but this one did, it hooked me right from the very first chapter. While fake dating, celebrity, and regular MCs are not new concepts to romantic novels, this one just takes the cake. The story progression was fast-paced, and the main characters were very likable, even the “antagonist” (aka Marion, the one who handles Jack’s career). While there’s not much character development involved, what I really loved about Jack and Cassidy’s relationship was how their attraction grew with every moment they were together. They had a deal to fake their relationship, but from the onset, their attraction was too strong there was no pretending involved for the paparazzi to capture. It was an absolute delight to read and feel their chemistry blossom into something more as they got to know each other deeply.

Rating Accidentally Famous ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/5. Releases January 24, 2023.

What a fun, charming, swoonworthy read filled with all my favorite tropes!

Accidentally Famous is the second book set in Blink, Maine, but the books are able to act as standalones. I will definitely be getting a copy of the first book now after loving this one!

Cassidy is busy restoring a Victorian home in her small town when suddenly her follower numbers in her YouTube channel begin to spike. Her friends quickly realize that she was accidentally tagged in a post by Jack Winston, action star and heartthrob. Jack’s team of agents and managers decide it could be great publicity for Jack to be dating someone like Cassidy, and off we go on a fun fake dating story combined with a dating a celebrity story.

I adored Cassidy’s character and how much she truly loves her hometown and the people she has known for her entire life. She has no desire to leave Blink but does gradually come to realize that there may be good reasons to travel as well. Jack is charming, kind hearted, and very lovable. I enjoyed watching the two of them develop feelings and learn to truly appreciate each other, Cassidy’s friends in the town and Jack’s team add great small town flavor and humor to the story. The book was compelling and well written.

Thank you to NetGalley and Entangled Publishing for the ARC in exchange for my honest opinion!

Cute, quick read for fans of fake dating and celebrity/normie tropes but left me wanting more from in the character development and romance arc departments.

The premise of a fixer upper home renovator accidentally getting tagged in a social media post by a movie star leading to fake dating absolutely grabbed me but as the story progressed I felt it stayed relatively surface level. I found myself wanting to know more about the characters which we never quite got even in the end, which I think is a testament to the characters, I just wish we would have spent more time with them and lingered in their interiority more.

Overall, a nice read and interesting premise.

Jack Winston is a world famous actor waiting for his next picture to start filming. When his assistant accidentally tags the wrong person in an instagram post the paparazzi descends on the small town of Blink, Maine. Cassidy James remodels homes and especially loves an historic one she is currently where she is currently working. She doesn’t understand why the subscribers for her small YouTube channel has inexplicable gone through the roof. Jack shows up with his PR team who has the idea to have them fake date for a two weeks. The plan would benefit both their careers.

Jack is quickly smitten with Cassidy and the whole Blink community. He even helps on the house restoration under Cassidy’s watchful eye. This is cute, low angst, fake dating, contemporary romance. Jack especially is a cinnamon roll of a guy. He is charming and sweet and has no Hollywood swagger. I wish there was more spice than a couple of kisses. I don’t need books to be explicit but I want more than a kiss on a deck or in a truck for the paparazzi to catch.

This can be read as a stand alone. I was half way through the book before realizing I’ve read Accidentally Perfect which is the first book in this Hideaway Harbor series. The MC’s make appearances in this book and is seemingly a couple of years later. Thank you to NetGalley and Entangled Publishing LLC for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Cassidy learned how to renovate houses from the best… Her dad and at the moment she’s renovating an old Victorian she calls Dolores. Cassidy enjoys her life and her friends and that includes her five fellow renovators and followers on YouTube. On the other side of the country actor Jack Winters and his personal assistant or overworked his talent agent Marion is a tyrant. He stopped living on the edge over two years ago and that’s how long it’s been since he’s had a break and his assistant D isn’t feeling much better. Marion makes us so nervous she accidentally tagged the wrong person in one of his movie post and this is how Cassidy‘s YouTube followers go from five to thousands in a matter of minutes. It was bad enough that Marian wanted Jack to start fake dating a fellow actress and even gave him a list of people to choose from most of whom he didn’t even know good now she wants him to fly to this little town and try to make a miracle out of this mistake. When they finally flying to Cassidy‘s little town they come in like gangbusters Marian wants a DNA signed and she wants Cassidy to learn these lines and pretend to be Jack’s girlfriend and at first it’s all a little overwhelming Cassidy however has her own reasons for agreeing to do it. The last thing she thought was that she would be falling for this pretty boy Jack winters and especially when she sees he’s just a normal funny guy who also loves old houses. When Marion sees it’s becoming something way more than just a fake relationship she has to put her two cents in and explain to Cassidy how she would only be ruining his life and Jack doesn’t really know what he wants but Mariann knows it’s not Cassidy. This is why Cassidy sends Jack away is she will not hear anything else about it she doesn’t want to discuss it she just wants him to go away and leave her alone and wants her life to go back to the way it was. The only problem with Cassidy‘s playing is that it’s been days and it seems to only be getting worse and everyone sees it but her. Did she make the biggest mistake of her life? Is she doomed to only live with the memory of Jack in the front they had a real lol bring them together again? It is books like this that’s really making me a romance fan . Are used to be the type of person that would say I would never read a romance that’s so sappy but OMG they oh so swoon worthy in the ending is always the best part. In this book accidentally famous is among some of the best Marissa Clark has a great talent for filling the pages that make you want to turn the page even before you’re finished with the previous one I really enjoy the journey die taking her books and I cannot wait for the next one. I love this book and highly recommend it. I received this book from NetGalley and the publisher but I am leaving this review voluntarily please forgive any mistakes as I am blind and dictate my review.

I loved Cassidy! She is a unique personality that is so completely relatable. She is so surprised when she all of sudden becomes famous. I laughed out loud a lot while reading this book. Who would have thought that Jack and Cassidy would fit together so well. I loved their romance. I really liked the confidence that Cassidy gained through the story. Overall the story was sweet and fun and I look forward to more books from this author. I received an advance copy from NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I absolutely fell in love with this book! celebrity x main character in a small town romance, forced proximity and fake dating. jack is a hollywood actor feeling tired and like he doesn’t belong in LA. cassidy has lived in blink her whole life knows her hometown is comfortable, safe and reliable. an accidental instagram tag brings these two together and discover they can both gain something positive out of their arrangement. this idea was so well written and it’s so easy to read and fall in love with the characters. this is the perfect summer read and will be recommending this book to everyone!!

I loved the first book in this 2-part series, so I was looking forward to Accidentally Famous, the second book. It didn’t disappoint! This is a well-written, enjoyable small town romance with 2 very likable main characters and a supporting cast of quirky locals. Hot heartthrob in need of redemption comes to Blink, Maine, and starts a fake relationship with a local contractor. Of course, the relationship turns real, and the author does a great job writing their HEA.

What a great book! This is a new author for me, and I'm so glad I was able to read this story.

I loved Cassidy and Jack. From the first time they laid eyes on each other it was an adventure to read. Loved the actor to common home town gal aspect, and Flex and Dee were awesome. Light-hearted, fun story that let's you fill in the blanks when it comes to this couple and the attraction they have for each other. Lolo was my favorite overall, but then again I have a huge soft spot for old kitties!. Well worth the read!

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC copy of this book.

I enjoyed going back to Blink, Maine. Jack and Cassidy are thrown together unexpectedly, but their chemistry is undeniable. It was fun visiting with previous characters again, and the new secondary characters added a lot to the story.

Another wonderful visit to the town of Blink. And what an exciting visit it was, especially for Cassidy. Cassidy is just going about her day filming her little diy web show for her 5 viewers when her life changes. All of a sudden her show is super popular and she can’t figure out why, until actor Jack Winston shows up in Blink. Jack was losing excitement for his acting roles and felt like he was missing something, he found what he was missing when he showed up in Blink. The fact that Cassidy didn’t fawn all over Jack when she met him made her even more attractive to him even though he was already intrigued by her. I loved these two and they were fabulous together even when they were pretending for the sake of his career. You could just tell that neither of them were faking what they felt and they were exactly what the other needed in their lives.
I am a fan of fake relationship stories and this one was a fun one. I didn’t want to put it down once I started reading.

Delightful
Who would believe a romance between a movie star and a home construction gal, certainly not Jack’s manager. But Jack is tired of the insincerity of Hollywood and LA and a media slip by his assistant enables him to meet Cassidy James, Miss Fix-It in Blink, Maine. He loves the fact that Cassidy is real and small town and believes she is the best thing that ever happened to him. Their relationship starts out fake and stage-managed, until it isn’t… And then Cassidy ends it…..

A fun read to start the new year! Accidentally Famous follows actor Jack Winston when he ends up in Blink, Maine to rectify a mistake. Cassidy James is perfectly fine with her steady life where she restores old Victorian homes. What started as a simple mistake turns into much more as Jack and Cassidy must confront what they want in life. With many appearances from the first book’s characters and a slew of new Hollywood additions makes a charming story, making you want more of Blink, Maine.

Side note- I really want Tristen to get his own story. I feel it in my bones that his character has depth that MUST be explored. I felt it in the first book, and now I am begging for it after the second! So many of my notes while reading surrounded his character, and the part where he “looks like the only kid who didn’t get invited to a birthday party” broke my heart. Please PLEASE give him a story!!!

Second in a series but could be read as a standalone. I really enjoyed revisiting the characters from Accidentally Perfect. It was fun to see Cassidy get her own story and what a fun romantic rollercoaster ride it was. Cassidy’s life is turned upside down when a misguided message tags her account instead of the intended. To try and make things right handsome actor Jack agrees with a plan for Cassidy to get her quiet life back. I loved this fake romance story, it was well written and it’s hard not to love all the characters. The writer does a great job of pulling you in and making you feel like you want to live in a small town in Maine. I think every neighborhood should have Friday dinner parties like the ones in the book.

This story hit all the right feels for me. I voluntarily received a free book from NetGalley and all opinions are my own

I would recommend this book to my friends , family and book clubs

The second one in this terrific series is just as enjoyable as the first. I am eagerly awaiting the next one. Tiny town meets Hollywood and the troubles and fun ensues. Thanks to the publisher for providing a copy via NetGalley. My review is voluntary.

I enjoyed most of this book. I loved the fake dating trope and the premise of the story.

I really like Cassidy and Jack and I liked seeing their relationship develope throughout the book. I feel the book could've been longer and I wish there was more showing their romance. The pacing of their relationship felt a little off to me

I feel the ending of the book could use some work. It ended really awkwardly in my opinion and moved too fast. At the end, I wish Jack hadn't texted Cassidy about what happened. I would have liked to read about their reunion and Cass being shocked that he was back.

This fun romantic comedy was the perfect kick off for my romance reads in 2023. Jack, famous movie star searching for a family/home, and Cassidy, small-town home renovator, were the perfect opposites attract couple. The social media accident that brought them together (and the paparazzi to Blink, Maine) was a fun meet-cute, and I’m always a sucker for a fake-dating trope. I felt the connection between Jack and Cassidy was sincere and fell in love with the fun secondary characters on Jack’s PR team and the locals of Blink.
If you enjoy:
-Fake dating
-Small town girl meets famous movie star
-cozy, sweet closed door romance
-Fun secondary characters
-HEA

You should add this to your TBR pile.
