This one was mixed for me. I liked the premise and the writing style was easy to follow but there were too many characters and, in my view, too much was going on with various plot-lines. As a result, it made the novel feel longer than it should have been. The ending was not a total surprise. This was an average read for me.

GEEZ, this guy can write a book! I feel like he is very underrated. Hopefully I'm wrong about that. Any fan of fast-paced thrillers usually based around a family type situation will love him. AND he has about a million books, most of which I have read so I can speak! But I digress...... The story grabbed me from the very beginning. Creepy kid? COOL! Count me in! A babysitter taking a selfie falls to her death off a cliff and the last person she sees is the kid she is babysitting. But there is more. It is a family story, police procedural and a bit of a true crime podcast also. This all sounds like a lot but it all comes together well. Rick Mofina knows what he is doing and like I said, he has a LOT of other books so read this, then go back and read some more!

Thank you to #NetGalley, Rick Mofina and Harlequin Trade Publishing MIRA for this ARC. All opinions are my own.
I have posted my review to Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Instagram, Facebook and various other retail and social media sites upon publication.

This was a very different and interesting story. But, there was just so much going on within the story with so many characters that it was a bit hard getting through. That’s not saying I didn’t like the book. I just feel the book dragged on a bit longer than necessary. I also got confused about certain things that happened.
Overall, a ok read for me.
Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher and author for the opportunity to read this book for my honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for giving me the opportunity to read this ARC of Everything She Feared. I have to say, I really enjoyed this book. There were times in the first half that the story was a bit slow to "get to the point" and the tension building stalled a bit as a result, but it was still very well written. Once the story started to slowly reveal the truth piece by piece, the tension was well maintained and there were some surprises that made this book a satisfying read. I liked how the perspective was split between the main characters (Sara and her daughter Katie) as well as the police detectives (Pierce and Benton). Then we got to see things from a third perspective, the brother of one of the murder victims at the heart of the main storyline. I enjoyed this book and would recommend it to anyone that likes a good mystery book! I'm definitely going to be checking out more books by this author. My true rating would actually be 4.5 if I was able to do it.

There were so many components included in this twisty thriller. There is definitely no slow burn here. The story begins with the death of Anna, who falls off a cliff. The only person that was with her was Katie, a little girl that Anna would babysit. But was it really an unlucky fall, or is there something evil lurking beneath Katie’s innocence?

Give me a book with a creepy kid and I am all for it. There were also a lot of psychological components, and I loved that too. There were even some twists that I didn’t see coming, and I always love when a thriller can surprise me.

Unfortunately, there were also some components that I didn’t care for. I was really interested in certain chapters that focused on particular characters, but I actually found Katie’s chapters to be a bit dull. It kept me from getting fully wrapped up in the story, since I felt like the same thing kept getting repeated when discussing her POV. I also felt that some of the dialogue was awkward.

I could definitely see this being a favourite for many people. I liked it, but there were some things missing for me. I would still recommend this book for anyone who enjoys thrillers!

Thank you to HarperCollins Canada for my gifted copy!

Everything She Feared by Rick Mofina is a thriller novel. The story in Everything She Feared is one that is told by changing the point of view between several characters and also with some flashing back to the past. This one also has some interviews, news articles etc to help tell the story.

The story begins with a teenager, Anna Shaw, hanging off the side of a cliff and hoping for help. Anna’s only hope is nine year old Katie Harmon who was with Anna when she fell. Katie takes off running to get help from the rest of their group who had gone on ahead of them.

The adults on the trip quickly gather rope and race to rescue Anna as soon as Katie arrives. When they make their way back to the cliff though it’s already too late, Anna has fallen and it’s obvious she didn’t survive. Investigators arrive and begin to determine was this just an accident or was Anna murdered with young Katie the only witness.

Everything She Feared by Rick Mofina is certainly a story that begins with a bang and immediately grabbed my attention. How could I not want to know just what happened to Anna and was Katie involved?? The book really was thought provoking as all I kept thinking about while the story progressed is the old question of nature versus nurture and of course kept turning pages as quickly as I could to find out how it would all turn out. After finishing I learned this was an author I’d definitely have to come back to again.

Right from the start of Everything She Feared by Rick Mofina, I was hooked. It had been a long time since a book grabbed me like that right away and I was 20% into the book before I knew it.

Right off the bat, this book was catching and had me guessing what was actually happening. I really loved the multiple story lines that were kind of going on here, but all threaded into the main story. I wasn’t sure how I felt about Katie most of this book. She’s a bit of an odd kid. I pretty much guessed who Sara was from the beginning, but then trying to figure out who Magda was had me guessing the entire time. It was moments before the reveal that it hit and I audibly gasped! Mofina did a fantastic job of keeping the suspense high most of this book, which had me flipping pages to know what was coming next.

The characters in this book are really well written and have you guessing on their motives and intentions constantly. I questioned every single person in this story at least once. It’s takes a great writer to do that. I may not have ever read a Rick Mofina book before, but I’ve already added him to my must read author’s list and you should too! Completely absorbing, intense suspense, and a jaw dropping ending. Grab a copy!

WOWZER!!! I always look forward to any book written by Author Rick Mofina and this did not disappoint. From the first page I was plunged into a whirlwind of mystery, intrigue and fast paced plot that kept this reader engaged and page turning till the last page. I did not figure it out till the reveal. That for my is the sign of a great book. Be sure to to pick this up and buckle up for a wild ride. 5 stars !!!

This is my first read of the author and I really enjoyed it. I was sure I knew what was up from the beginning. Then a few more facts came out and I was even more sure. Then as I kept reading, more facts came out and I became less and less sure what really happened. It was a unique way to structure the book.

And while I always think mystery, suspense and thrillers are great for book clubs, I really think this one is a great choice. There are a lot of issues to discuss that are sprinkled throughout the book. How well do you really know your family runs throughout the entire book. But also at play is to what extent would you go to protect your children? At what point does your greater good, protecting others factor in? I don’t have any kids and I’ve seen this in other books with varying crimes and vayring family members and I do wonder what I would do.

This one was part solving a potential crime and part family drama as we see both sides throughout the book. As the information came to light, I became more and more engrossed in finding out what would happen. I could not figure out if Katie was reliable.

I am going to have to add Rick Mofina to my authors to watch list. I think both thriller and family drama lovers will like this one.

Sara’s daughter Katie witnessed her babysitter fall from a cliff. Sara is more than worried, she is afraid Katie had something to do with it. Why? Sara has a hidden past and she struggles to keep it hidden every day. She hopes and prays her little Katie does not have genetic tendencies inherited from someone in Sara’s family.

I love all the layers in this story. Katie is just a young child but to know where the reader thinks this is heading…messes one up! I was terrified for Katie and Sara. So, it definitely plays with your emotions. Rick did an incredible job with all the twists and turns. AND THE ENDING!

I have been a big fan of this author for years! So, I jumped at the chance to read this one. I knew I would be in for an intense and wild ride. And this story delivered!

Need a good tale with some amazing family drama…THIS IS IT! Grab your copy today

Everything She Feared is one intense read with its many twists and turns. There's something chilling about a child as a suspect, and whether young Katie is guilty or not, I had pretty much creeped myself out before even starting the book. Again, whether she was guilty or not, I was not at all disappointed with any part of the story. Yes, I'm being intentionally vague because I'm a firm believer in avoiding spoilers at all costs. Rather than spill the book's secrets, I'll just say that it is a very well-written thriller, and it kept me riveted from the beginning. This is my first read by Rick Mofina, but it won't be my last. I'll be on the lookout from here on.

While I enjoyed the plot of this book, I found it difficult to read as it bounced back and forth to different story lines. This wouldn't necessarily have been an issue, but the way that the author moved back and forth was confusing. Towards the end when everything was tied together and made sense, the story made sense and was really good. If you're looking for a story that has complex components and multiple storylines, this is it! If you're reading it and get frustrated, definitely stick with it, the ending is worth it!

Everything She Feared by Rick Mofina is a chilling story. I was unable to put this down and read it in an afternoon. This was so suspenseful and I definitely didn’t guess where this book was going to end up. The characters were fully written and I felt like they could be real people. I’ve read books with similar plots but Mofina made this story totally his own. I highly recommend this.

Thank you Netgalley & HTP Books for an eARC of Everything She Feared by Rick Mofina!

This book sure is unique! A teen falls while taking a selfie at the edge of a cliff and the last thing she sees before falling is the 9-year old girl she babysits, Katie Harmon. Katie's mother, Sara, is alarmed. Not just for the obvious reason that Katie witnessed this, but for reasons more sinister...Was the babysitter's death an accicdent?

This book has Sara's motherhood point of view as well as a detective element to this one, following rookie Kim Pierce. There's a third spin on this one - True-Crime podcasters following a string of murders from the past.

Mofina does an excellent job of tying all of these POVs and storylines together into something quite juicy. That being said, the book is on the longer side (448 pages) and in my opinion could've packed a punch a bit sooner. I sometimes found myself being confused between the past chapters and present, but found myself catching up quickly. This is a book where you'll really want to pay attention to the details. The ending surprised me and was well written. 3.5 stars rounded up to 4!

Wow, this one was a ride. It's my first foray into Rick Mofina's writing and I thoroughly enjoyed it. While it was a pretty complex series of twists and turns, it's well worth the journey when everything falls into place. The suspense was on point in this book and kept me on the edge of my seat pretty much the whole time. If I had one criticism it's that a couple of the characters didn't really feel clear and could use some refining to just take it to that next level. Overall I really enjoyed the writing style and the plot sucked me in, so a very enjoyable read.

This is my first by this author and an easy quick read at that.
Picture this, you're on a school trip, and at only 9 years old you see a teen girl (anna) go over the cliff while taking a selfie....what do you do? what happens when you run for help and yet Anna has already fallen?

Scary and page-turning but with a lot of characters to follow. I loved the creative idea of this suspense but I will admit that I struggled with Katie as a 9 yr old. I have one myself and at times I thought it wasn't possible for Katie to think that way, and then other times it felt like she was too young. I just found it not linear in thought for that particular character. That said, I didn't guess the ending which is always a huge plus for me as a reader. I loved learning tidbits as we read and then flipping my mind on how sinister or how flukey it was going to end up.

I knocked off a star because it was too long but all in all, a good quick read. Psst. i love thrillers will creepy kids vibes.

Well this was a wild ride!

Anna Shaw apparently falls to her death while taking a selfie. The only witness is 9 year old Katie Harmon, who Anna babysits. Sara, Katie’s mom, has ties to a violent past, and is worried Katie had something to do with Anna’s death.

Sara visits her mom in a care facility almost daily as her mind and body are failing. The people who raised her aren’t her biological parents, and Sara doesn’t want the truth about her birth parents to come out, but she is going to have to unearth her past to get to the bottom of Katie’s possible involvement in Anna’s death.

An interesting aspect of this story was snippets of a podcast featuring true crime junkies trying to solve the mystery of a serial killer who vanished after she was released from prison. Once you figure out the connection to the podcast and the rest of the story you will be shocked.

The author kept me guessing with tons of twists, layers, and suspense, and an intense ending!

Rick Mofina is such a talented writer! I haven't read a book of his that I didn't love.

This book was so intriguing and creative. It kept you wanting more. I couldn't wait to get through it to find out who did it, the suspense was killing me!

There were many different secrets and twists throughout this book that really will keep you on your toes.

Rick did a great job with character building by providing different POVs.

Part of the book is about a teen who falls off a cliff while taking a selfie to a murdering husband and wife duo. Which makes you think, what? But don't worry, everything eventually comes full circle.

I can't rave enough about this book, so you might as well just grab a copy for yourself haha and see what I mean.

I really enjoyed this book of psychological suspense. I enjoyed how this story unfolds with either an accident or was it murder. I loved Sara and Katie. I was not sure how this story was going to end. I could not figure out if Katie was good or bad until the end of the story. I received a copy of the book from the publisher for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will.
