A Great Way to Begin Devotions Together

!

I think it’s very easy to fall into not spending time together focused on God together. I liked how this actually has a devotion for Him and Her meant to be shared and discussed together.

Each day has interesting insight on your husband or wife and the discussion and prayer time is bonus! Wish we had this when we first got married 35 years ago!

Perfect gift for an engagement or extra wedding gift or even an anniversary gift!

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Thank you to Nelson Books and John and Stasi Eldredge for the opportunity to read Wild About You. My thoughts are my own and are no way influenced by the publisher or the authors.

I've read John and Stasi's work before and have found it to be engaging. I would say their voice is not always in line with my beliefs and unfortunately did not find this book relatable. I also was disappointed that most of the book took from their other works...in other words a compilation of material and nothing new. I was hoping for a devotional geared toward married couples and offering new material.

This was an interesting devotional. It was done in a his and hers manner. At times the devotions didn’t line up together. Good book for couples and I enjoyed reading this.

I appreciated the concept of the book and I appreciated how it was meant for a couple to “go through” together. At times it felt a bit disjointed as they two separate devotionals (his and hers) for the day didn’t seem to always mesh. Hard to have a conversation when there is two different topics. I think I would of preferred this as two separate books - one for him and one for her. I enjoyed the devotionals and loved the questions asked at the end of the day. Overall it was an average experience.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an advanced copy. Opinions are solely my own.

I haven’t come across a book by John or Stasi Eldredge yet that I didn’t love! What a great idea to team up together to write a 40 day devotional for couples! If you are used to reading their books, and marinating in the meatiness of it, the devotionals may feel way to short, but they still pack a wallop. As much as I love the idea of a long devotional, the likelihood of it actually getting completed, rises drastically with a shorter vs a longer length. I also love that there is a place to journal! The questions are great for getting to the heart, and would help each partner get to know and understand their spouse better.

It was not a favorite, i wish it had more scripture and you could delve deeper in it.
It had great pontential and it sounded like it would be perfect for couples but it fell short of the mark.

I did not see the point of this book, i feel it’s a compilation of their two books. The two devotional do not go together and are sometimes hard to make the point.

Wild About You” by John Eldredge and Stasi Eldredge brings back the core essentials of relationship and marriage. Anchored to Scripture, each day includes two devotions from two perspectives: Hers and His.

From the first page to the last, I found myself captivated by this book. The writing is superb, emotional, and convicting. Both authors synchronize their stories to compliment one another. Both authors are vulnerable yet strong. The best attributes of women and men are seen working together, united by their love for Jesus. As they their discover individual attributes and differences, they come together into a stronger marriage.

“Wild About You” by John Eldredge and Stasi Eldredge would make an excellent anniversary or engagement gift. It would also be helpful for times when couples feel themselves pulling apart. The reflection questions are crafted for conversation or personal journaling.

In addition to classic Bible translations, this book references The Message and The Hebrew Bible.

I received an Advanced Reader Copy of this book from Netgalley and then purchased a few copies of this book for gifts.

This couple’s devotional has a his-and-hers approach that seems intended to stir up passion for life. Each daily devotion explores the cultural pressures to fit certain molds in opposition to what we feel inside. God’s call to be Men and Women is explored and manhood and womanhood are defined to fit older traditional models.

Each section begins with the Woman’s view and is written by Stasi. There is a Scriptural passage to frame the devotion around, then a brief prayer at the end. The Men’s section, written by John, follows the same format, with two questions each for the woman and man to follow up on at the end of that day’s devo.

Four and a half stars. If you like the message of the Eldredge’s, this one is for you. There is a primality about this material that tends to stir the blood, so be prepared to leave boredom behind.

Me thanks to Nelson Books via NetGalley. All opinions expressed are strictly my own.
